We needed somewhere welcoming to eat an early dinner prior to going to a show elsewhere in the town, Vasco is excellent. Perhaps more of a bistrot than a restaurant, it is relaxed and welcoming. The food is authentic, freshly prepared and wonderful. We shared a cheese and meat platter to start, followed by the mixed meats skewers. Washed down with a bottle of Portugese white, the bill came to an incredibly reasonable £66. Only problem was that service was slow - long wait for the starter, so we had to rush our food a little. Next time we'll pace that better ... and there will be a next time

Great cafe taken over by friendly new owners April 2025. We arrived about 5pm after a walk up Cnicht and were pleased to see cafe was open. Had savory scones, tea and Bara Brith - all fab. Proprieter said they tend to stay open later when the Croesor car park is busy knowing people will want feeding and watering.

This was easily the tastiest and best-prepared meal we had during our week in Wales (as Americans). This pubās kitchen has a true chef working there. We had mussels in an incredibly rich and perfectly seasoned tomato cream sauce, then grilled cod over black garlic risotto. I canāt overstate just how welcome the punch of flavor and obvious care that was put into the dishes were. This is my first tripadvisor review, and I write it for any other tourist that knows the struggle of picking between restaurants in a small town. Let me make the decision for you, eat here.

Found this bakery on the map and seen the good reviews. We got a meat and potato tray bake, couple of cakes and some Eccles cakes. Very reasonably priced, almost cheap!! Lovely as well, we took the pie back to our cottage and warmed it up, was delicious.

Had a lovely day at the museum and decided to end the day with a coffee at āThe Hatch.ā Had many delicious lunches here in the past. The cafe was surprisingly empty. We ordered two coffees and sat out in the garden. Every table was dirty. I cleaned one myself with wet wipes before the coffee arrived. We waited for 15 minutes. How long does it take to make two coffees? We went inside to find out what was going on. The waitresses had completely forgotten about our order! They were obviously too busy chatting to their friends to take orders or clean tables. No wonder we were the only customers. We told them so and walk out in disgust.

I regularly visit for either breakfast or lunch and am never disappointed. There is a varied menu which has recently been enhanced with the addition of specials. Thoroughly enjoyed my Cumberland Sausage in a giant Yorkshire Pudding with mash, peas and a delicious gravy.

Want to thank the owner and the young girl who served me today for being so kind and understanding following a bit of an upsetting experience across the road. I diverted here on the way to Hollyhead having travelled all the way from Cheshire by myself. This was a massive thing for me to do by myself for the first time which is why my assistance dog really helps me. It's like having my best friend with me to support me. My mum brought me here when I was about 7 years old and wanted to call in to see the famous long railway name for old times sake. I didn't want to go across the Britannia Bridge but go the old road like I did as a child which brought me to here. Yes I can pronounce it having a mum and nan from Hollyhead who taught me a bit of the Welsh language. I'm half Welsh. Went to the Pringle Centre to look for food and water for my assistance dog and called in the cafe there. Was told I'd be ok as my dog helps me with Autism and anxiety. Big mistake. Was stopped and questioned not once but 3 times by rude abrupt staff and made to feel embarrassed and awkward like I had to somehow justify myself for just being there and that I was somehow majorly putting them out for having an assistance dog with me and ended up saying "forget it" and walking out feeling quite anxious having been treated quite rudely and making me feel very awkward and very unwelcome. Some people jump to assumptions and don't realise that not all disabilities are visible. I so wish I could leave them a bad review but I can't but you guys proper came to the rescue today and made it all better for me. As I walked out I saw there was a "Caffi Celt" across the road. Even better they had a sign that said "Dogs Welcome". YAY!!! I much prefer to support a small family run business anyway. What a lovely family run cafe doing really nice home made food. I explained to the owner and the young girl that I had just had a rather upsetting experience over the road and they couldn't have been more welcoming and understanding. I sat outside and the girl when she brought me my sandwich took the time to ask if I was OK. Please make this known that that tiny gesture didn't go unnoticed. It was such a kind thing to say knowing that I was coming down from a mild panic attack and just asking if I was OK and if there was anything she could do was so nice and thoughtful. The food here is absolutely lovely and they did me two sausages and water for my four legged assistant. Please can you praise this staff member for her kind words as it was so reassuring to me and made all the difference. I told her I was fine now and it was so pleasant and calming to sit outside in the sunshine enjoying a nice fish butty but sometimes it's just the little things that make all the difference. Next time I pass this way I won't hesitate to call in and will surely recommend it to my friends who regularly pass this way. The sandwich was lovely but sadly I couldn't finish it all but Bobby my Bichon polished off the sausages in about two seconds so that's a 10/10 from him. It costs nothing to be polite and courteous. Their loss and your gain. Thankyou so much. š

The imminent improvements here are long overdue. After all the promises with grants and support, nothing has actually happened from a customers' perspective and the building remains a drab and basic facility. Having said that, the beer is still good and the welcome was at least polite. I understand the big makeover is coming (with several weeks of closure) so here's hoping....

Iād have loved to give this a higher review because the food is lovely I just couldnāt get past the time taken to firstly serve the drinks (35 mins) and secondly serve the food (50 mins). Given the food was bacon butties and some cakes I canāt fathom how it took so long to produce this food. Shame because when the food did come it was tasty but wonāt be returning. We only stayed this long because we were made to pay for the food in advance (and also had the cheek to ask for a tip at this stage). Thereās no excuses for drinks taking this long. There were three of them behind the counter and only seven covers.

My husband had a lovely breakfast here this morning- most satisfied indeed- lovely hearing Welsh being spoken by the locals -always a good sign to see places supported like that - we are on holiday - price was amazing- you deserve success so keep going- all the best
