The imminent improvements here are long overdue. After all the promises with grants and support, nothing has actually happened from a customers' perspective and the building remains a drab and basic facility. Having said that, the beer is still good and the welcome was at least polite. I understand the big makeover is coming (with several weeks of closure) so here's hoping....

So glad to have found this hidden gem. It just goes to show that pubs that pub companies/brewers cannot make viable have a future with the right staff and community behind it. The Harp has been very fortunate to find an excellent manager and chef. The dining area is a little soulless especially compared with the rest of the pub, but it was not a problem to eat in one of the number of areas elsewhere in the pub. The menu is not extensive but I would happily have had anything on it. After due consideration I went for the lamb shank curry, which I had expected to be made from lamb shank, not comprising a whole one.It was huge and excellent, the best pub curry for many a year. My wife had the pan seared cod which was very slightly undercooked as she prefers it, so she was well pleased. It is an adventurous menu which avoids the default of battered cod, so another plus point. In spite of not in any way being a Welsh speaker, I did not feel the pub was unfriendly just because most people were speaking Welsh, this pub is in North Wales after all. The manager could not have been friendlier. Sadly we are only visiting the area so will not be able to give this super village pub the support it deserves. Long may it thrive.

We were staying nearby and wanted an indoor dog friendly pub. We stopped for Sunday lunch and it was the best we have had! Meat was cooked so well and absolutely delicious. Amazing food, big portions, fast and friendly service. Would definitely come back just to visit here. Also offers vegetarian option and gluten free gravy. It’s worth ringing to book in advance as it’s popular. Especially if you have a dog, so they can get you a table with space for them.

Tyn Llan is a grade 2 listed historic building, built in the 1860’s and has retained in unique charm to this day. Having closed in 2017, the community came & worked together and invested in the venture and as a result of their hard work and tenacity, Tyn Llan was reopened on a temporary basis in December 2017. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength providing many community based activities such as coffee mornings, live entertainment, bingo night, walking club as well as French and Welsh conversation sessions. They now offer food from Wednesdays to Sundays and if you enjoy great food, you must pay Tyn Llan a visit! Four of us booked a table on Saturday night and as soon as we arrived, we received a warm welcome from David the manager and the bar staff. The menu choice is varied and offers something for everyone. Two of us had the belly pork, one had the duck and the other had the lamb shank curry. For dessert, we shared 2 toffee sticky pudding between the four of us, again this was divine and a generous portion. The food was of exceptional standard and well presented, I can honestly say it is the best meal we have had in the past few months. We enjoy eating out in various restaurants and do so on a weekly basis. The chefs at the Tyn Llan have definitely exceeded our expectations! Diolch yn fawr/thank you for a lovely evening……we will be very soon!

Staff were very welcoming too. No food unfortunately as the Chef was sick but look forward to visiting again when we will eat there hopefully.

We have visited here after hearing really good things about the food and we weren't disappointed. We both opted for the Tuscan chicken with Mediterranean vegetables and sautéed potatoes. The chicken was cooked to perfection as was everything else... But the sauce was out of this world! The pub was busy which was lovely to see and there was a nice atmosphere. The service was spot on. Every member of staff were friendly and professional. Also looking over at other people's meals you could tell everything down to the onion rings were home-made! We can't wait to visit again. Popped in on the off chance as we were staying in the area, and received a really warm welcome from staff and customers alike. What a wonderful old pub, and what a fantastic gesture from local people coming together to save it. We loved the atmosphere & the old world charm. The food was amazing, we opted for the special dish of the day which was absolutely delicious, ( locally sourced bacon chop ) with an orange & tarragon sauce with dauphinois potatoes & perfectly cooked vegetables on the side. All washed down with a really decent glass of red wine & according to my husband a spot on pint of Guinness, there was a really good children’s menu, & the sticky toffee pudding was to die for, can’t wait to return to this lovely little place. Thank you for your hospitality.

This pub has great potential, but they're not there yet. I have been an occasional visitor for over 20 years, and I'm aware of the improvements which are coming (in 2024?) but the interior hasn't been touched yet. The basic, dated furnishings and decor are grim, and the attitude - if you don't speak Welsh - is begrudgingly polite, nothing more. The garden is tidier nowadays, and the ale is decent. The menu looked uninspiring but when the imminent major refurbishment happens, it will need a lot more to justify the investment and encourage more trade.

Have been several times after being recommended this place. We have had two great experiences but the 3rd visit was very unwelcoming. Arriving on my own, on a Wednesday about 7:30, just after a large table were ordering. I waited quite patiently till they ordered and then asked could I order any food that could be served the same-time as this large table. Even said I would have any main meal that was easy for them to cook. Bar staff left to check with kitchen to see if this was possible. I was then told that there was no way they could provide any food till after this large table was finished. Maybe because I wasn't a local, I wasn't even offered any alternative. Great shame.

Hubby treats me to a meal out to save me cooking after a very busy work week, great I thought - meal wasn't. Starter - Chicken & Brandy Pate with apple chutney, sounded lovely, Pate too strong for my taste which is not restaurant's fault but "chutney" was appalling, a bowl of coloured water with sultanas, no taste or texture of chutney and to top it off when I put my knife in it a load of fruit flies flew up and stayed with me through my starter. Mains - we both had the "special" Pork chops with sage mash peas & gravy, too much gravy on plate for me would have been better on the side to add as wanted, mash & peas good although other veg as well would have been nice, the chops however were absolutely appalling - struggled to cut through the meat, very tough, then when I cut second from the bone found blood on the bone and in the middle of the chop meat, told waiting staff but only offered to re-cook chop, by this point i'd lost any appetite ! they then had the cheek to charge us for irish coffees. Lesson learnt, won't be returning ever. over £ 30.00 paid for a meal neither of us were able to enjoy and not an offer of discount or money back. My husband never leaves food but he couldn't eat his pork chops either so goes to show they were poor quality and not cooked.

We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie.
