Visited here today for the first time, The lady was extremely lovely. There were so many different flavours we could not decide. Absolutely the best tasting ice cream we have ever tasted - coffee and mint chocolate - strawberry and salted caramel. Can not wait to try more flavours on our next visit.

Been there several years ago and still think of the ice cream... A strong contender for the best ice cream I’ve ever had - and that’s saying something since I’ve eaten a lot of the stuff! I believe we had the honey comb crunch and the salted caramel and it was insanely good. I hope I can come back soon!

That honey comb crunch is to die for. I’ve had a ton of ice cream and it’s possibly the best I’ve ever had.

Absolutely amazing icecream and sorbets. Didn’t get to try the chocolate or the fudge so need to go back. I had the Passionfruit Sorbet and it was possibly the best sorbet I’ve ever had.

My wife and I have eaten a lot of ice cream in our time, including in Italy. It is with no exaggeration that we believe this is the best ice cream we have ever had. The flavours and texture are to die for. Their selection of real fudge is just as good. It's worth travelling for. Quite possibly the best ice cream in the UK! Not sure how it could get any better.

This home made ice cream was delicious. we ate their twice, we got chocolate and ice cream first and only ice cream the second day PS : this is my 7 year old daughter writing above 5 star review! We absolutely loved the place! So much so that next day we arrived there at 10:30am to have ice-creams to start our day! 😬😬

Delicious ice creams, what more can I say.

Been there today, had some unusual flavours I've never seen before! The staff member (daughter of the owners I think) was very polite and took the time to explain the unusual flavours and what goes in to the handcrafted ice cream. Very smiley and happy, lovely service and the ice cream is quite possibly the best we have ever tasted. Would highly recommend, sad we don't live closer to try some more!!!

As an ice-cream lover I taste the unusual tastes that I do not find at home. At your shop I had Elderflower and honeycomb ice-cream - both delicious! Also, a very Special baby sized ice-cream cone for my smallest one is something I have not seen before. Great service, thank you!

There’s 1/2 and 1/2 scoop! Really perfect for a person who coughs when eating cold drinks and ice cream. Getting to try two flavours without having to eat double scoops! My husband, who usually is not fond of ice cream as most are too sweet, truly enjoyed the ones here! We had rum and raisin + hazelnut choc. My girl had honey comb + salted caramel. And yes teh cones are fragrant and crunchy too! So glad we had this to finish off our trip of Harlech Castle!

The best ice cream in north wales! There are different flavours every time we go and the staff are lovely.

Lovely ice cream. However my daughter wanted honeycomb ice cream purely for a piece of honeycomb. I had to ask if she could get a piece, a yes or a no would have been sufficient, only I got a sarcastic “every child is special” Other customers were getting pieces of honeycomb so she obviously didn’t think children were special enough in the first place to get honeycomb. The lady was very rude.

This is genuinely the most amazing ice cream that I’ve eaten in my life (trust me, there’s been a lot…) - and even that statement is completely underselling it. It’s creamy, tasty, wholesome, and there are lots of great flavours to choose from. I loved that you could have half a scoop of two flavours. To be honest, half a scoop was the size of one small scoop, so portion sizes were generous. This seemed fair for the £3.60 cost. I would happily pay it all over again and wish I could take this ice cream shop home with me! They also sold a delicious looking range of handmade chocolate and fudge, but I only wanted ice cream. If you’re in Harlech, you absolutely must go here. There are plenty of benches close by at the castle on which to enjoy your ice cream. I chose the chocolate orange and the elderflower flavours. Both were total winners!

Genuinely, the best chocolate ever! Handmade on the premises - texture, creaminess, flavours punching through. Vegan options too. Definitely somewhere to drop in to while in Harlech, or visiting the Castle. They also do mail-order 👍

The chocolate bars here are amazing. Just tried the white chocolate bar with lime and lemon 🍋 and it was delicious. Very strong citrus flavour came through and the chocolate just melts in your mouth. So if you like these flavours then I definitely recommend this new chocolate bar. .

The ice cream here is excellent, even by the high standards of what I'd tried from various places offering homemade ice cream across Wales. It was delicious and creamy and came in a range of great flavours. I tried both black cherry cheesecake and rum & raisin and both were fantastic. They offer cones and cups and one small but excellent thing is that you can order a single scoop quantity but as a 'half and half' option, so you can try two flavours with quantity of one and without the cost of paying full price for a double scoop.

Ice cream was lovely however, the two women behind the counter need to work on their customer service skills as the were slightly abrupt.

Always looked forward to going here when we are staying at shell island but today was not a great experience very rude and abrupt all 3 staff had a real attitude problem as if they didn't want to be there!!!! Ice-cream also not as good quality as we've had before... All tasted very bland and lots of ice chunks in making it watery. didn't recognise any of the staff obviously haven't been last year because of covid so not sure if changed hands we usually go daily when we are here but unless they become more people friendly none of us will be returning!!!

Delicious! Flavours may change every day, but most common ones are always there. Friendly staff who will make your wait (in a queue) pleasant. Really nice ice creams, a must have when you visit Harlech.

A lovely place, right by the castle. We visited over the weekend and the lady serving us was fantastic - gave us some wonderful recommendations for beaches nearby. Can't recommend enough! (I've cream was great too!)

Rude and unprofessional service by a teenager boy.

We annually visit Wales and at our regular visit to Harlech we decided to visit our normal shop where we have spent lots of money on previous occasions.We were not welcome. Due to my partner having hidden disabilities which are private, confidential and makes him lawfully exempt from wearing a mask, we were told to get out the shop. We had waited outside the store until it was empty and when asked he politely explained he was exempt. He was told that they ‘don’t do exemptions’....so to word this another way, they ‘don’t serve people with disabilities’. Very disappointed and upset to have been discriminated against in this way.With our 5 children we ventured 20 yards further down the hill to spend £20 in another cafe which thankfully did not discriminate. Disgusting service. Shame on you.

🍦Update: Finally able to visit again after travel restrictions lifted and were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff, we had great coffee, delicious ice cream and a chocolate brownie to die for - thank you!🍦 Best ice cream in Gwynedd! There is a great range of flavours from traditional chocolate or vanilla to salted caramel or hibiscus. The shop is well organised to cater for current social distancing requirements with a managed queue and a helpful board outside with a list of the days flavours. The queue was about 4 families deep when we joined but it only took around 10 mins to to get through and my goodness it was so worth it. We will definitely be regular customers.

This place had the pick of customers due to its location directly opposite the castle. Bluntly ordered to queue across the road due to Covid restrictions I then felt very unwelcome when I asked for a cheese and onion pasty. I found his quibbling over the fact that ‘vegetarians’ seem to be having a day out especially rude. The pasty itself was nothing special and overpriced for its size and flavour. Bring your lunch with you instead. Spoiled what was otherwise a lovely visit to the castle.

Visiting the castle, stopped off at Hufenfa'r Castell in the main castle square for ice cream.Social distance in force while waiting outside with only 1 customer allowed in the shop.Helpful staff, though they did seem a little abrupt at times - but then these are strained times!Very nice ice cream flavours (including dairy free sorbets), where you could get 2 flavours in one scoop.Very nice ice cream and chocolate - but its very expensive - over £15 for the family, so a treat only!

Last time I was in Harlech I had an ice cream that was delicious but now they have opened a pasty shop just further down and I had the meat and potato and chicken, ham and leek pasty this time. It was delicious! The best pasty I’ve ever had!

Firstly, I have to say, this was simply THE BEST EVER salted caramel ice cream I've ever tasted. Utterly delicious and probably the best I've ever eaten.However. I get that locals are frightened, scared and unsure about COVID-19. But the overly officious lady snapping orders at people in the queue, and the slightly surly gentleman server made us feel quite unwelcome. We're obviously English tourists, you can tell from our accents ;-)! But we felt like these people didn't really want us here. Shame ....

Appreciate all business have gone back to a different way of working, but most people we have come across are still lovely to their customers...unfortunately this is not the case with the stroppy woman who works here. She clearly doesn’t want to be open and working and doesn’t like the English. We were queuing outside the shop and keeping 2 meters away from the family of 5 in front of us. She came out and we were an inch off the mark and she snapped at us asking us to stand back as we still need to try and social distance. The man outside the shop kept explaining to customers that you didn’t need to do two scoops if you didn’t want two flavours, that you could do half and half of one scoop. This just confuses everything! My husband went in as only one person in at a time but I was waiting outside the shop and could hear the conversation. He said could I get one hazelnut and rum and raisin in a cone. She asked is that a half and half scoop. And he said no a scoop of each. She started serving up but made it as two cones, when my husband corrected her and said that was for one person, she snapped at him again saying “well that’s what I was trying to explain to you”. Sorry it wasn’t, she got it wrong. We left feeling a little put out that she seemed to have it in for us when all we wanted to do was support the busy and buy from them. Never again. I can only think it’s because my husband and I have southern English accents and maybe she didn’t want our custom. Also, at a time when the world is trying to reduce plastic waste, why stick a silly flag and a plastic spoon in a coned ice cream? Wooden spoons would be so much better and maybe ask if they want a spoon? Or does she just hate the planet as much as she hates her customers? I love Harlech and visit regularly, but will be avoiding this place like the plague...

After visiting the castle on a very warm day we decided to cool down with some ice cream. It was mobbed! We each got different flavours and we all really liked them. My boyfriend even said it was the best ice cream he’s ever tasted. The two women working were very friendly and were in a great mood as they had just been awarded two awards.

Second time now I’ve had a bad experience here... I believe everyone deserves a second chance so...As a local and worked in Harlech for many years and always recommend visitors to go there I’m quite embarrassed that I do so, especially after todays visit The owner needs to greet customers in a better manner. I was asked about my order whilst he stared down at his phone.. I then gave him one order.. he stood there so I assumed he wanted my whole order So I gave him my second ice cream order ... he still stood there on his phone then said “Oh oh one at a time” whilst flinging his arms in the airSo I replied confused“But you just stood there”If I hadn’t promised the kids ice cream I would’ve walked off Unfortunately living in Harlech all my life and not wanting to go to the local ice cream shop again after my experience is a real shame.. Hopefully others have a better experience

A very hot day so we thought an ice cream each would be lovely. We had spotted this parlour on our way into the castle so headed straight there afterwards. The ice cream looked (and probably tasted) really good but when we saw the mean miserable portion my husband was given for £3 I decided to pass up on a further opportunity to be ripped off. The portion was a VERY THIN slice of ice cream smoothed level over the top of the cone!!!!! It didn’t penetrate into the cone at all it was literally just smoothed onto the top. So it didn’t even look ice cream shaped! I am sure it tasted delicious but really if it’s ice cream you fancy walk on down to Spar and buy a proper one there.

Our family thought this was the best iced cream we have had in all places in the world we have visited. Very smooth and creamy, offered either as a scoop or spatula sliced. We chose the latter with the crispy cone. One of the busiest places close to Harlech Castle.

We stopped in the shop for an ice cream and were so glad we did - it was absolutely superb. The owners were so friendly and chatty and only too glad to help with some questions we had. The chocolate and brownies looked divine too although we resisted temptation this time - I suspect we won’t next visit!

Between the five of us I think that we tried nearly every flavour - none disappointed. I particularly loved the divine combination of white chocolate and elderflower (that was grown in their own garden) - what a synergy! Friendly amazing staff made the experience a lovely finish to our castle trip - thank you x

My husband is a BIG ice cream fan and the ice cream here was fabulous!! We tried the black cherry and the toffee caramel. Both delicious. Stunning view of Harlech Castle too.

While visiting Harlech we picked up some freshly made pasties at The Old Cheese Market...some of the best pasties we have ever had.....then it was time for some eccles cakes….absolutely scrummy......

A great monument to Edward 1st who built this lovely castle. It's no where near as good a Warwick, Caernarfon or Windsor Castles but not bad. The tea room is OK.

I'm always looking for this cheese and nearly failed to get any 2017 . It is a family favourite and I purchased two. They have quality local items here and so much to see. I know where to place my order and the price was so good. I will be back soon .

Arrived today and had walk round to stretch our legs. Why not give it a try, we glad we did!! Two waffle cones one with Rum and Raisin with Salted Caramel the other Salted Caramel and Berry and Cream. Wow, delicious home made ice cream, we are here for 5 days could visit here often :)

Worthy of the awards it has won, and pretty reasonably priced for a "touristy" area. Staff very friendly and had a good chat. Honeycomb truffle was lacking in honeycomb, but other chocolates and the ice cream were fab.

Ouuu just stop to get ice cream in could windy after castle visit found beautiful little home ice creamshop. They serve awesome homemade ice cream and pralines....and if you dont know what exactly fudge is than you should ask funny lady to tell you a story
