Bakehouse And The Hatch in Flintshire

Had a lovely day at the museum and decided to end the day with a coffee at ‘The Hatch.’ Had many delicious lunches here in the past. The cafe was surprisingly empty. We ordered two coffees and sat out in the garden. Every table was dirty. I cleaned one myself with wet wipes before the coffee arrived. We waited for 15 minutes. How long does it take to make two coffees? We went inside to find out what was going on. The waitresses had completely forgotten about our order! They were obviously too busy chatting to their friends to take orders or clean tables. No wonder we were the only customers. We told them so and walk out in disgust.

Called here during the Christmas market event at the valley and wasn’t disappointed. Fab dog friendly spot which offers a warm welcome to all.

Beautiful breakfast and coffee, friendly staff and atmosphere would highly recommend. Totally worth the money and good quality produce. It is also dog friendly.

The lady here made me and friends some lovely crispy chips out of the kindness in her heart after we had picked up a bit of litter.

Quiet evening with just a few people but it was lovely and warm. Started with a couple of meatballs, and followed with a fruit cocktail. The main was turkey for me and it was beautiful. Delicious gravy and roasties cooked to perfection. Excellent selection of veggies. Stevie is an amazing chef. Myself and my other half thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Can't praise it highly enough. It is only open in evenings for pre booked events or a special night.

Came in to get a hot chocolate after walking down the valley from Holywell in the pouring down rain. Was fairly quiet inside, but staff really friendly and service was very quick . Hot chocolate was very nice. Will definitely visit again.

We travelled from Chester to eat here due to a recommendation. We checked the web site and Trip Advisor carefully as it was out of season and all said it was open 6 days a week and closed Wednesdays. We tried to visit on a Tuesday and it was closed. Even the poster outside said only closed Wednesdays. Doesn’t deserve trade if they can’t keep the website up to date. Very angry at our waste of time.

Called at the Bake House and had a superb lunch. Noticed that they had a Greek Night billed for that evening. The lunch was so good that we decided to ask it they could squeeze us in - which they kindly did. 8 courses of Greek food, each one absolutely excellent. Stevie and Lyndsey are so skilled yet so friendly and welcoming. Just wish we had been staying longer but definitely hope to return soon! Btw, you can bring your own alcohol too! 'What's not to like' :-)

It was very busy when we visited but we were served quickly and despite thinking it would be a while before our food arrived, it was a short wait. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. I’d definitely recommend a visit.

We are regular visitors (at least once a week) since we moved to North Wales. The breakfasts are excellent and the flat white some of the best in the area. Had a burger yesterday which was fantastic. Service is friendly and efficient and the venue is beautiful being situated next to the abbey.

We've been coming to the Bakehouse since it first opened. One of the friendliest places around. If you have special dietary requirements they are very helpful in suggesting options (and there are plenty!). Dogs are welcome here too which is great after a walk around the Valley.

We try to come here once a month, we’ve never been disappointed. Staff are always friendly & happy even when they’re run off their feet with customers! The food is consistently fantastic and beautifully presented. The cakes are amazing and really need to be eaten to be appreciated. The Bakehouse is a fantastic place to eat.

I've been to the Bakehouse and Hatch many times but today is exceptional. The spinach, mushroom and cheese omelette is the best I've ever had. Really good portions and made with quality products. Honestly can recommend coming for a walk around the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park. Beautiful forest, history everywhere. Stevie and Lindsey are real chefs providing good food and welcoming service.

Had the most divine food on Saturday night. Small intimate dinner with family excellent food and quiz between courses.

Amazing food, with an unexpected Christmas quiz with prizes provided by the venue. The staff wrte lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was beautifully presented and we were all so full and satisfied. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Food and service are excellent. Food is of a very high standard due to a very experienced chef but very easy on the pocket too. All pastries and desserts are all made in house and excellent. Highly recommended.
