We visited this tearoom today during a weekend trip to Melrose. The tearoom itself is lovely, very cosy with a real fireplace and the staff were really lovely and helpful. Naomi from the cafe recommended the Terry's Chocolate Orange Steamer, and it was delicious (see photos!) After our hot drinks we perused the bookshop above the tearoom, there was a good selection of books! Finally we enjoyed a scenic walk, Old Melrose is beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Great place for a good quality meal that doesn't break the bank. We have been a few times to the mariners and always come away very impressed. Really friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. The quality of the produce used is excellent (I am quite fussy about meat in particular) I recently had a very impressive breakfast which was fantastic, Enormous! The chips also deserve a mention, home made chips made to order. Perfection. If you're in the area and looking for good quality food, give this place a try.

We arrived early afternoon, grandkids in tow. My friend talked to the person at the visitor centre and was put off visiting the roundhouse due to our grandkids being with us (6 & 11). This was certainly the impression she got. We decided to explore the church ruins and the graveyard instead, from which you can see the roof of the elusive roundhouse. Very interesting graveyard with some very old graves.

Ferry stopover popped in for a meal with our dog, super food and welcome...lovely restaurant section, made our dog very welcome, and supplied water and treats ( only our dog couldn't accept - as he is on a strict diet). highly recommended, we will be back....

Beautiful family run hotel, the food was exquisite, beautifully presented and very tasty, the Robert was extremely tentative seeing we had brought a bottle of wine came along with a wine cooler, the attention to detail was second to none, he also gave us great advice on visiting a beautiful local church which was a must see , and only around 5 miles to visit Gretna Green and a few hundred yards from the English/Scottish Border we just can’t wait for a return visit Thank You for a memorable visit.

We came here last night for Galentine’s Bottomless Brunch, we’ve always loved Early Bird but this was our first bottomless experience here. Just WOW! It was by far the best bottomless we have ever been to! All of the staff were so lovely and accommodating, drinks kept flowing and food was 10/10. They even went the extra mile by putting 21st birthday decorations out for my sister. Would highly recommend! Thank you Early Bird team for a fantastic evening!!

I like to stop here for breakfast when I travel up to the north of Scotland from down south It’s only about 5 minutes off the main A74 (M) in Lockerbie town centre. Lots of free street parking outside the shop . The good thing about Greggs in Scotland is they sell Lorne sausage… unlike their English and Welsh stores and it’s delicious! 10/10

Called in here for fish and chips. There is seating, but we opted for a takeaway. It was cooked freshly to order. I believe they use beef dripping ( the proper old fashioned way to cook fish and chips) They were the nicest fish and chips I’ve eaten. The flavour and texture of the chips was lovely. I don’t usually each much of the actual batter on the fish, but this batter was the lightest, finest, crispiest batter I have ever tasted, so happily ate it all. The meals were delicious …..would highly recommend . The staff were lovely too!

Who would have ever thought that a village like St. Boswell's would have such an excellent venue, which is community-focused. A café which is packed serving good food and friendly service, a browsing bookshop, arts and crafts shop and a delicatessen ... who could ask for more?
