Been here often, very happy with past experiences except the last time and this time, (a few weeks ago and today). Food was not great at all. Ordered a Hawaiian pizza. What I received was a cheese pizza, loaded with cheese and a few measly bits of ham (about 4 in total) and roughly 4 pieces of pineapple triangles! My husbands toasted sandwich was okay and came with Doritos, why not salad alongside. Bizarrely also had a tiny pot of coleslaw with it. Tea last visit was dire, water wasn’t even boiled properly and we had to return it, tea this time was at least hot and nice. Won’t be rushing back I’m afraid. Shame as convenient when in Hawick.

We popped in finding a fantastic exhibition of collage art by Alison burke. She was even there to explain the meaning and process of her art. There were refreshments provided. We then found the museum describing the rich history of weaving the area. There is dressing up for the kids, and views of the local buildings, all connected to the industry. Great experience and helpful, welcoming staff. I loved it.

I’ve been to Heart of Hawick twice now, once for a live comedy gig and once to see a film. Both visits were excellent. The staff are really welcoming and the venue is lovely. It’s a good, steep rake in the auditorium so no danger of your view being obscured and the sound and projection quality for the film screening were both absolutely excellent. I look forward to many more visits. Homemade pizza in the venue’s cafe was very good too.

Heart of Hawick is a real asset to Hawick, as the town has suffered from the decline of its industries and businesses in the High Street. The venue is a converted Victorian mill which contains a cinema, cafe and arts facility. It's possible to have a meal before or after a film or a live performance and the view over the river makes it attractive. For all I only had a coffee, which was quite nice and Ok price wise, Heart of Hawick does cakes, light meals and sandwiches, and the venue is popular with locals. Dogs are welcome too.

This cafe-cinema-theatre truly is a great benefit to the town of Hawick making use of a superbly renovated historic mill building sitting over the Slitrig river with great views over the water and town. A glass balcony hovers over the water and makes an unusual and popular place for a coffee and snack at the end of the High Street. The staff are delightful and very friendly. Do not take children of any age in after 8.30pm as you will be asked to leave. I was told (the same as a friend) that the time to leave was 10 pm by other members of staff here. I had been told on Monday nights that kids were welcome to stay and watch the bands as it was a restaurant, not a bar. So we decided to go and support it but were asked to leave. Hardly had time to finish our drinks. Families on holiday beware!!

With an abundance of Cafe's to choose from in Hawick we chose this one because it had a big poster on the door stating 'dogs are welcome' we went through to the seats overlooking the river and sat and relaxed, we had our coffee and was just waiting for our food. A lady then came over and told us abruptly that we couldn't sit there and we had to move, I asked which tables we could sit on, we were told the only the tables at the front of the café, there were 2 of them, so if 2 dogs are in the café you have no where to sit. I asked the lady why there weren't any signs explaining to dog owners where they can sit, to save the utter embarrassment of being up-ended mid lunch to the other end of the café. Her response was ' there are signs on the tables you can sit on' it transpires there are round paper coasters on these 2 tables that say dogs welcome at these tables, which is great if your already sat at them tables. The coffee was alright, nothing special, id like to tell you how the food was but they got that entirely wrong also, I asked if they did 'sausage rolls', I was told 'of course, I said ' I couldn't see them on your menu, you definitely have sausage rolls?' 'yes, I was told. after a 15 minute wait and being kicked to the other side of the café, a bread roll with 2 link sausages turned up, they couldn't even get a sausage roll right. We left our food and coffee and left. We wont be back, don't advertise your a dog friendly café when your not.

We visit Hawick on a regular basis and tended to come here for a pizza (when you can get it) and bottle of wine each time we are in the area. We visited today and I was shocked to see the price of a pizza increase from £5.50 to £8.00. On top of this they didn't have any more in stock anyway. All items on the menu appear to have had a substantial increase for some reason. I appreciate they are fresh but I'd guess around 60% of our visits we have gone elsewhere because they had sold out. Today it was only 1pm and there were none left. This isn't a restaurant, it's a licensed coffee shop so to place that sort of price increase on a pizza puts the establishment now in competition with an Italian restaurant. I think I will just be heading to a restaurant in future.

Come on Beanscene what used to be a great place for a visit and a blether has lost its appeal to locals please re take a look at the menu selection and bring back the old favourites, such as chillies and nachos at a cost to suit local residents who visit EVERY week and not the pander to the tourism market!!

Museum with an interesting history We visited Hawick's Tower Mill Museum to see the Bernat Klein exhibition which runs until late April 2017. That exhibition was relatively small, taking around 15 minutes to view. Nevertheless it provided a good reminder of 1970's fashions, influenced by a designer living locally. We didn't have much time to see the rest of the museum, but the exhibition in the ground floor explaining the history of the building was very interesting. A model of the building during its construction helped to explain how the building had been subsequently expanded to its present form. There is a film running on a loop with further information. Recommended!

I booked a Deluxe Junior Suite for 4 adults. On the positive side, the suite was clean throughout, including the rooms and bathroom, and the shower pressure was great. The late check-in process went smoothly, and all staff were friendly. However, despite these positives, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The bedding wasn't set up for 4 adults, even though there were a few hours between booking and check-in. The included breakfast was disappointing—it consisted of a croissant, cheese, milk, and juice left in the fridge, with no mention that it was a cold continental breakfast. Lastly, two of our group had a terrible night's sleep because the sofa bed had broken springs and offered no support, sofa bed seemed broken overall.
