Just the most delicious homemade ice cream. Luckily a lovely day so were able to sit outside and enjoy people watching on the vibrant high street. Serve really nice coffee and cakes too!.

Ten out of ten! The ladies that where serving us were hot, AMAZING icecream and really good prices! Would definitely recommend.

Caldwell’s Ice Cream Amazing & highly recommended I only found out about Caldwell’s being I Peebles after 6 months of living here I knew about the shop in Innerleithen that’s why I knew their homemade Ice Cream is magic

My husband and I visited Peebles recently and found a gem of a business that sold the best ice cream and tablet I have ever tasted (and I’ve tasted many) !! Thank you Kind regards Mairi C

The previous reviewer thought £2.30 was too much for ice cream but we thought the cost was definitely worth it for properly made, creamy ice cream in 24 different flavours. Pre-teens are likely to go straight for the unicorn option, complete with silver cone “horn”. Many flavours were marked as gluten free (not surprising if it’s just cream, fruit & sugar) & several vegan. We came here after a long walk and asked if we could sit inside - no bother at all and a really friendly welcome, even though the young lady was on her own and managing different orders. A cup of tea and cheese scone revived us, followed by tubs of rhubarb crumble, blueberry & salted caramel ice creams. All great. Thank you.

Although lovely staff I think £2.30 one small scoop Ice in a tub...takeaway.. is outrageous! Not even a wafer. Nothing special either.

what a fab ice cream parlour, which sadly closed last month, however the good news is that they are now reopening in february . very friendly and bend over backwards to make your visit pleasant, i cant wait for another sunday, (ice cream of course)

Traditional ice cream of a number of choices. The chocolate might have had the slimmest hint of ice. Seating inside and out. Yearned to try a specialty coffee but ran out of time. Sweets also available in this shop open over a hundred years. Friendly service.

The flavours of ice cream on offer in the shop are fantastic and the ice cream itself exceptionally good! This visit I had a 2 scoop cone with banana and Turkish delight flavour - amazing! So delicious. Quick service at usually busy counter, staff efficient and friendly.

The only problem is choosing your favourite flavours. Great ice cream, with friendly service. They also have shop in Innerleithen that is just as good

Disappointing visit to Caldwells yesterday we had to queue out on the street, but we found out once inside there was. Only one person serving, we got 4 ice creams & a drink £14.00. And we are still looking to taste the pineapple in ice cream. Very dissatisfied

We went in for coffee and ice cream,coffee was OK but ice cream was a bit taste less, so disappointed with our visit.

Staying overnight at Barony Castle Hotel, Eddleston so had a run into Peebles for a look around. Stopped in here for a coffee which was very good & reasonably priced. They have a very good selection of ice-cream flavours

Sorry but the ice cream is okay, right. But when youre paying up to a fiver for a wee bit of sugar its just not fair. Maybe if the prices were a wee bit lower i'd concider an occassional ice-cream.

Stopped of this afternoon for a coffee around 1sh on a trip from East Kilbride. I have to say that this is one of the best Cappuccinos I’ve ever had, only the cappuccino I had in Honfleure France was as good. The carrot cake was so tasty we should have had another slice. The staff were friendly and courteous and are a credit to their owners. Costa etc are not a patch on these guys. Well done. Thanks from the two bikers who visited today.

We stopped off for a lovely coffee and cake. Peppermint slice was well received as were the lovely scones. Staff were pleasant. Ice cream was delicious and I can recommend the raspberry sauce with traditional vanilla. Always a winner.

Ice cream was ok. Nothing special, service wasnt great...very little eye contact, no smile or anything else , appeared hassled by serving us and exceptionally slow. The till is right beside the icecream counters so if people are standing paying while you are being served icecream you cant even see the icecream options fully. Warm shop though which was a nice suprise

Was there with family and what a brilliant experience friendly staff couldn't do enough for you and there ice cream is the best I have ever tasted! Our whole family had different flavours and everyone wanted more. Will be back soon.

Great ice cream - you never can guess what new flavor they will come up with - we've been going to the one in Innerleithen since the 1980s ! Do not miss it !

Sugar cones with two scoops. One with blueberry and pannacotta, the other with chocolate peppermint chip and pannacotta. All were delicious but the pannacotta was truly stunning, rich creamy and as smooth as silk- best I have ever had. £7 for two generous cones.

The Ice cream served was very nice, the staff too were friendly & helpful to choose flavours, as there was a lot to choose from. A nice little restaurent, though very small, Worth a visit.

Three bridges race on a hot day. A must visit for the speciality & well known ice cream.

Great quality and a good variety of dishes. Even the salads were unusula and very very tasty. Not a lot of tables so perhaps prepare for a wee wait. Well woth it though.

This ice cream and cake parlour is heaven for ice cream lovers. The home made and multi flavoured ices are delicious. Try the oysters. Excellent and friendly service. Well recommended.

This shop is like a magnet for icecream lovers. A huge arrange of choices of cones etc. We all enjoyed the refreshing sorbets. The staff are friendly and patient. One itsy bitsy comment, the scoops are a wee bit small. Used to ice cream hanging over the cone.

Nice position on the High Street in Peebles.... Great place to stop off for a chill out and a nice Hot Chocolate or a gorgeous ice cream :-) A great place for a Saturday catch up with the girls :-)

Flavours are varied and really good. We enjoyed the pear, the elderflower and mint (exceptional) and the peach crumble. Wish we had a branch in our town.

Lovely little shop loads of choice of ice cream cakes and biscuits. Toys for the kids and clean toilets and baby change.

visited this Cafe on Saturday - and tried again the Ice -Cream , as ever - World Class Ice Cream - as anyone travelling through Peebles is missing a trick not going here - to sample the Home Made Ice cream

This was our first visit to Caldwells and have known that this family business has been a success for decades, beginning in their first shop in Innerleithen. It has become one of the best ice creams shops ever! We went to their premises in Peebles for lattes and a gluten free cheese cake. Coffees were very good as was the cake. Prices were average and the cafe was clean and tidy with courteous service. Would happily recommend

The ice cream in here is amazing. Each time I visit there are a number of different flavours to choose from. Most recently, I really enjoyed an orange pannetore ice cream, delish!

Good quality icecream and a fairly wide range of flavours make this a popular stop-off. The icecream is good, but it doesn't compare with the Movenpick brand available in the summer just round the corner. Good coffee and scones, but about half past four the flavour of all these was swamped by the synthetic lemon stink of the floor cleaner they were using to mop the other half of the room. Silly!

On our tour we stopped to look round Peebles. We stopped at an attractive looking small cafeteria to enjoy a beverage and a slice of cake. It was a lovely day weather-wise my wife and I sat outside to take in the scenery and passers by. I was served in the shop by two charming and helpful young ladies who brought our purchases out to our table. Then a highlight, we decided to finish our visit with an ice cream and there was a wide choice of flavours to choose from, we were not disappointed, our choices were both delicious. John Hardy

Regular visitor.Visited today after a walk around the bridges . Very busy so just decided on takeaway ice cream. The best in the borders. It has cafe facilities to sit in and outside tables on the street. Great for coffee and cakes but too busy today on a fine sunday.

You had vans at Peebles Highland Games, the staff were really friendly & helpful, nothing was a bother to them, the prices were cheaper than the other vans around the park too

Having had a lovely walk by the Tweed we repaired to Caldwell's for ice cream. Served in lovely dishes this was delicious with varied flavours available.

This shop sells its own home made Ice Cream and it is delicious and well worth the wait in the queue.

Relaxen at Goldwell's on a beautiful afternoon with a relaxing ice cream . The have plenty of tastes and its homemade. The staff is friendly and it's on the Main Street in peebles, a town in the Scottish Borders.

This is a favourite stop for us for as we like their ice cream. However visited today and had coffee - which we won't do again - dreadful stuff with peculiar chemical taste. Needless to say we didn't finish them.

Glad Caldwells have opened in Peebles. Gorgeous ice-cream, full of delicious flavours, can't wait for excuse to visit again.

Can only comment and rate on the ice cream as this is one of the reasons to visit Peebles. Always used to make a beeline for Caldwells in Innerleithen so delighted to find one in Peebles. The ice cream is wonderful and we will be visiting often.

My kids ordered ice cream from this little cafe and loved the flavours. The staff were very friendly and engaged in chat which is always a plus

Due to more familiar places being closed my wife and I found ourselves in Calders for coffee and cakes. The young lady in charge was very pleasant, very personable and very efficient in providing a good quality snack whilst, quite clearly, under some pressure. I would not have visited had other places been open - but now I've found it I'll go back. I would recommend it. Although of no interest to me this parlour was, quite definitely, very child friendly.

Caldwell's was a plesant surprise. It is an ice cream parlour but it also serves a small range of cakes and scones, so when I visited with the kids I was able to get a coffee and cheese scone while they enjoyed their ice cream.
