Recommended by our land lady, we stopped by for breakfast/brunch on Monday. Simply fabulous. Only had time for a quick stop. Was great to see the bees and artwork. If I were a local I would consider myself in luck to have such a great place to go to all the time. Very rare to find such a gem. We were staying 40 miles away and made a detour for our breakfast, says something. The servers were simply brilliant, and the veggie breakfast the best.

We popped in here for lunch while passing for the first time and were glad we did. The service was good, very quick and efficient, staff were very friendly. There is a good selection on the menu and even a dog menu, which our dogs loved! The soup was delicious and toasties were tasty but a little burnt around the sides so we couldn't even bite into some of them. They have no disabled parking which is disappointing. We will definitely pop in again if passing!

Julie and Brenda welcomed us to this lovely country pub! I had the roast beef and my son had stone baked pizza! Great menu! Dog friendly, welcoming, warm (roaring fire!) and a gorgeous environment in an old coaching inn!

One staff member showed unnecessarily rude behaviour rushing me out with my dog. Completely over the top response let us down in what is otherwise a delightful wee cafe.

What an excellent stop en route from the central belt to Argyll! The range of food and drink, and the made-from-scratch paninis in particular, were excellent.

Gracias

The coffee here is consistently good which is great. My husband had a well filled, bacon roll and, although it was 9am, the scones were ready and fresh out the oven! The lady who served came to the table with an enormous scone saying I had hit the jackpot and would I manage it? No problem.... Staff are always cheery and friendly and the adjoining gift shop has lots of nice things to browse amongst.

While staying in the Hotel, we had a pint in the Ptarmigan and it was fine - as was the service. From an atmosphere perspective it felt more like a pub than the the bar in the Buchanan, but less so than the Drymen Inn or the Clachan, and I guess it’s in that midstream area between pub and hotel bar. We would be happy to use it again - depending on what sort of atmosphere we were looking for.

Sanja by Sagar Massey in the Kirkhouse was fabulous. Tasting menu surpassed all expectations , with some really unique combinations. The Halibut was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. Aloo chat was also a favourite. Cocktail and service were also excellent and restaurant is beautiful inside Thank you.
