Excellent cheeseburgers. Great service and the girls were very friendly. We also ordered a steak pie for new years day and I can say it's the best steak pie we've ever had. Will eefinately be back its a lovely place.

What an excellent stop en route from the central belt to Argyll! The range of food and drink, and the made-from-scratch paninis in particular, were excellent.

Stumbled on this place whilst looking for somewhere dog friendly. Great choice of fresh sandwiches made to order, very organised and in my opinion very good value for money. Also the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble.

This cafe is set up like a rest stop between major travel points on the A811 between Stirling and Balloch. The food here is fairly standard traditional British style cafe. There's the usual range of made to order fried food or cold filled sandwiches, plus Italian coffee. I got two fried egg sandwiches ( although there are plenty of meat options), plus a latte. The food is fine for what it is. The price is well above average for this kind of fare, but then it's also a roadside style cafe and these usually are a bit more. The latte I got was okay. The cafe has all the social distancing procedures in place and there's a one customer inside the cafe at a time rule. The staff were friendly and couldn't have been nicer. Currently, all of the seating is outdoor with a mix of smoking and non-smoking seats. The cafe is effectively on a lay-by, but clearly visible from the road. Parting is mostly on the lay-by. A reasonable stop if you need a break driving and it really is a convenient stop on A811. Also, there are male and female toilets, but costs 20p to get in. Otherwise there's no need to go out of the way to eat here. Had it been cheaper, I would've given it an extra star.

We stopped over here having visited a previous place in a tourist hotspot where we weren't as well-received. And can I just say what an absolute pleasure it was - the food was excellent, the staff very friendly, and the whole experience was lovely - even with the regulations, they have put in a really efficient system to keep food going - we would definitely recommend the brownies! Next time we pass this way, we'll be stopping again. Thank you, and we'll be back!

Popped in here today for coffees and fruit loaf. Both were excellent. A few years ago, on a couple of occasions heading early for Edinburgh, I stopped for filled breakfast rolls and I remember they were lovely. Some lorry drivers use this food outlet but there is ample parking on the slip road beside it. This is takeaway food only but there is an outside seating area, partly covered and partly slabbed. The slabbed area is currently being extended. We shall definitely be back.

Friendly staff, good coffee and roll on Lorne. The extension to the paving and the new canopy will hopefully increase your customers. Quick stop for our group to refuel. Thanks again.

Stopped for two takeaway coffees as Lavazza coffee is advertised from the outside. The watery horrible tasting stuff we were served surely wasn't Lavazza. If it was then what on earth have you done to it?! Please fix your coffee. What a disappointment and waste of money. I pass by regularly but won't be stopping again.

Passed this road many a time, this time very surprised to see a newly opened takeaway with outdoor seating area. I would disagree that it is overpriced, at the end of the day it is a business that needs to survive. I thought the service was excellent, the two girls servicing were lovely. The food was fresh and was very tasty. I wish them the very best of luck. Look forward to returning sometime soon

For what is essentially a burger van by the road side, although a building and offers a wider range, this place is expensive in comparison to the many other roadside vans on offer. Therefore I would give it a miss and go to somewhere with less overheads for as good a snack

Enjoying another day trip, came across this little roadside stopping place. The toilet was clean but basic, all you need when traveling around. 20p piece was needed as it has a turnstile to enter. Quick snack and drink was welcomed also. The food was wholesome and good, good choices for drinks and takeaway, reasonable price, staff friendly, only seating area is outside, it is the sort of place I would like to see in other country side places

I visited Flanders Rest en route to the highlands from Edinburgh. A small service stop on the side of the road, Flanders offers a variety of fresh, traditional Scottish fare including pies, rolls and sandwiches with local meats and produce. Absolutely amazing and went out of my way to go back again on the way home. If you see it on your travels, divert and nip in.

Very friendly and helpful staff, took plenty of time to explain about all the beers and were offered tasters of any beers we were interested in drinking, there was a great beer selection. Building was clean and tidy, music was excellent. Menus were well displayed.although we didn’t eat the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great.

Great to see this traditional village pub come back to life. Quiz in the bar last night which looked like great fun, often has live music, lovely food at really reasonable prices. Will be going back again.

TLDR: the food wasn't bad, but it certainly didn't live up to the price tag and too many things were predominantly sweet. Stopped in for dinner while on vacation after browsing a couple other nearby spots for food. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either and really didn't live up to the price tag. The haggis bon-bons as a starter were just okay. Not much flavor to them and a pinch of salt would've gone a long way. The menu looked great, and my lady opted to make a meal of a couple appetizers (the shrimp cocktail and the scotch egg), while I ordered the pan-seared duck breast. The shrimp cocktail was not what we expected. The shrimp were the super tiny variety common to freezer bags, not plump and fresh. Honestly it all just tasted like mayonnaise. The scotch egg was another under seasoned item and it was served with a chili sauce that was pretty sweet. If you're familiar with the Panda Express in the US (Chinese fast food), it tasted just like their sauce. It just didn't quite pair well and ate overly sweet. The duck breast, sadly was just not great, primarily due to the cook on the duck itself. It was weird - the skin side needed more time in the pan as the fat has just a wee bit more rendering needed - but the meat of the breast was overcooked. I typically don't mind if my duck is medium, but this was verging on well-done. But it was really the sauce that turned me off, as again it ate really sweet. I understand it was an orange sauce and a little sweetness is fine, but this tasted and had a mouthfeel more like orange syrup than a well-reduced jus with orange, as there was virtually no citrusy aspect that one might find in say a duck a l'orange. I will say that the service staff was very friendly and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for drinks at any point and the food arrived in good time. But, as with the theme of the meal, my lady ordered a Glenlivet old fashioned - which neither of us were expecting to be sweet, but it very much so ended up almost too sweet to drink. I don't mean to nitpick and we certainly do love our sweets - but not when they're misplaced. So sadly this missed the mark for us, but I'm hoping that we just were in on an off-night. Again, not bad, and I'd still say to pop in - but just wanted to make this review in case it's helpful to anyone.
