Popped in for a mid-morning coffee during our visit to Holmfirth. The owner was very welcoming and we were soon chatting like old friends. The chef, who came down with a sample of the food for the owner to try, was a lovely character as well. Locals were coming in to eat during our visit and you could tell they were regular customers. It really felt like somewhere you'd be happy to return to again and again.

Absolute hidden gem said it before on Google reviews and I'll say it here one very little boutique hideaway. Had a great coffee and chat with the owner and staff members really welcoming and work hard to make it what it is SO people all I'm going to say is appreciate the individuality of the hideaway and tip the staff and remember ALWAYS be nice because working in hospitality isn't easy early mornings and late nights to serve the public 😊✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Never had a bad experience here! The food is always top notch- especially the bacon! Usually we go for breakfast or a toastie but went for lunch the other day and had the jacket potato and was not disappointed; in fact i’d go as far to say the best spud ive ever had, thanks Timothy & Toni! Kids love coming too but are probably bias cause they love a good butty & yazoo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a brilliant time in Charlies. Went on a Saturday around 5.30pm for a few drinks before going for something to eat in Holmfirth. Went back after our meal and on both visits it was great. The staff are great and the place has a brilliant atmosphere. We had an absolute ball. Well worth a visit. We'll definitely be back.

Cider press used to be our favourite place to visit. It's now under new ownership and the menu has vastly reduced and prices increased. It used to always be busy to the point we've been turned away due to the queue of people waiting for tables . There was no one there when we arrived at lunchtime although some more people did turn up after a little while. The cider of course is still a major draw but I'm not wowed by the choice of sandwiches in comparison to what used to be on offer. Perhaps in time the menu will improve...but it's disappointing at the moment. But the lovely friendly atmosphere it used to have seemed to be a little lacking. Time will tell...

Popped in for a pot of tea and scone...no scones but I thought we'd go with a piece of Victoria sponge. We had it outside in the sun as it was a lovely day. The service was quick...however, when I was presented with a couple of paper plates and paper cups to drink out of I knew this was not going to be nice. If I had wanted a take away I would have gone to a crappy lay-by pit stop. The cake was dry and my cousin end up feeding hers to the dog...not recommended if you're looking for something traditional.

I love this place. Service is always friendly and great. Great beer and atmosphere. The best bar around by miles. Hope the new owners keep it just the same but with the addition of new beers.

I had the vegetarian breakfast and it was delicious, the scrambled egg was really tasty and the vegetarian sausages cooked to perfection! Unfortunately my photo of the breakfast didn’t come out on my phone but the presentation was lovely and it was good value. I will definitely be going back for breakfast again!

The staff and service were very friendly and well done. The meals were pretty good pub food. The bedroom was extremely small, like the box room I had when I was a kid! No room to swing anyhow at all. We tried to cancel our room more than a week before the booking date but were told that it would be fully chargeable. Apparently, if you book a room with breakfast, you can cancel up to 48hrs beforehand with no charge. However, if you book a room without breakfast, the cancellation s not refundable even if you cancel two months in advance (I asked)! I just cannot understand this logic, but that and the tiny room left a bad taste.
