The Potters Den in Kirklees

A great place to visit and paint some Christmas presents for family, would visit again.

Prior to going to The Potters Den I have never tried pottery painting before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Warm greeting and ‘nothing too much hassle’ attitude. Lovely little shop with lots of choice on what to paint, will definitely be going again. A nice bit of peace and quiet- felt like therapy!

We live in holmfirth and we come here a lot. We went to the potters den on a Saturday and the lady was so helpful. We were in there two hours and we loved it. We would highly recommend it. The prices are cheap and its very therapeutic.

Such a calm and relaxing place. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our morning there.

My daughter loves coming here when we visit Holmfirth. It is a wide range of ceramics to paint and the lady that runs it is helpful and friendly. The prices are reasonable too.

This was our 2nd visit this year, the first with our older Brownies and this weekend with the younger girls. We had a wonderful time. Can't wait to see the finished effect.

Nice small place for little ones to enjoy pottery painting, especially on a rainy day. Very reasonable.

This is a great place if you have young children because there is plenty for them to do and keep them occupied.

Visited with my 3 year old grandson. The owner gave a very warm welcome and explained how to use the ceramic paints clearly. We enjoyed drinks and food whilst decorating our pots. The owner chatted to us and gave great advice. What a fabulous way to spend a morning and we can not be more pleased with our finished pots. We will return.

Potters Den is run by a lovely lady, who is very helpful & friendly. There's a good range of pottery to paint.

Went here one quiet afternoon for a coffee and is the perfect place for afternoon tea or coffee. Peaceful, friendly and very nice coffee. Great for a stop from looking around the town. Would defiantly recommend.

A good hour or so to spend with little ones, or even host a party! Nothing like gently applying paint to clay to relieve the stresses and strains of everyday life!

A lovely friendly place with very helpful advice. The owner (sorry I forgot your name!) went out of her way to make myself and my 2 year old boy feel very welcome, relaxed and confident and made sure we had fun as well as produce a lovely mug. Thank you, we'll definitely be coming back again.

we arrived to pass on a few hours with people from the age of 3 to 60. The lady was Very accommodating when we arrived however we wasn’t able to book as it wasn’t a birthday party. Which was quite disappointing as there was nine people in total. There is a car park 5 min walk from potters den which is 90p for up to 3 hours which was plenty of time. We will have to pick up after a week, a postage service wasn't offered for extra. Coffee and tea was available and snacks for the children.

Fantastic afternoon with family and friends painting ornaments whilst listening to christmas music. Great start to Christmas. Definitely do it again next christmas. Cant wait to collect the finished products . Thanks for everything. Just collected the products 6 days later. They look amazing.

Great little place to go if you want to be creative and make a personal gift for someone. Had a little range of snacks and drinks if you need it. Lovely lady that works there.

Lovely, friendly, welcoming and creative place! Took my 6 year old granddaughter and whilst she painted happily I had a cup of coffee. Owner provided kind and helpful presence. Noticed a little boy decorating a tank - something for everyone! Fantastic for a child (or adult!) to see their work turned into a glazed and professionally finished artefact - be it plate, mug, fairy or tank - to name but a very few of the items available for decoration!

We have visited with our nearly 3 year old daughter on several occasions. She loves The Potters Den and she oftain asks to go. It's a warm friendly and relaxing environment with lots of choice of pottery, paints and brushes. There is a small car park 2 minutes away or you could park in the supermarket car park 5 minutes away. Highly recommended for anyone that loves painting (young and old). I think the painted pottery make perfect and personal gifts.

Potters Den offers family-friendly prices for painting anything from pottery animals to plates to piggy banks to photo frames. The lady who runs it is so friendly and is always happy to advise and speak with customers - old and new. I've been to a few parties here as they have room for larger groups upstairs (perfect for children's parties) and a smaller room downstairs ideal for a family or friends day out, so has a lot to offer. I always speak highly of the Potter's Den and have/would recommend(ed) it to anyone.

We came here to do some craft with two young boys on a bright but nippy day. Parties upstairs, we sat on one of the few tables downstairs and there were some people say out in the sunshine. Great variety of pottery to choose from. We went for a large shallow bowl (£40), and egg cup (£7.50) and a cereal type bowl (£15). This is for the pottery, the glazes, and the firing. The lady was really friendly and so much more so from the last time I came which makes me wonder if the business changed hands. The boys enjoyed doing their bowl and egg cup before helping with the large bowl which is a pressie for my mil. I think this is a great fun way to spend a couple of hours and as mentioned the kids and the adults enjoyed doing this. It takes about a week for the glazing and firing and can't wait to see the results. They only took cash and the do drinks and snacks too. We parked in the CoOp car park and paid for 3 hours which meant we had time to get some lunch in Holmfirth too. It's about a 5-10 min walk from the car park behind the Old Bridge Pub. Lovely secluded area.

Visited with 4yr old and 1yr old. Small place but lots of choice of pottery and very friendly people. Good choice of paint colours too. Overall a very pleasant, and surprisingly relaxing experience :)

This place is excellent no matter how old or young you are! My daughter (who is now 16) loves going here as much now as she did when she was 6. The owner is always helpful and friendly and makes you feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend spending a few hours here especially on a rainy cold day.

A lovely party idea painting their own pottery (party bag) being shown correct way how to prepare and paint. Then each child did their thumbprint and name on a large plate for the party child. Lovely snacks food recommend to anyone.

I organised a baby shower here in the summer and it was a lovely place to have chosen. Very relaxed atmosphere, you pick what you want to paint and just pay for the items you pick. The lady who owns it was very helpful and we all had a lovely time there. The painted products are then put in a furnace and you collect at a later date. We were all pleased with the results and it was nice to do something different together. I will definitely go to the Potters Den again.

I have only been once with my 14 month old twin girls and we decorated a mug for there dad for Father's Day. The owner was very welcoming and helpful in every way possible. My girls went in quite shy and didn't want to leave they had so much fun. It is reasonably priced, you can have a cuppa and there is loads of different objects to choose from depending on your budget. We decorated a large mug and had two cuppa's for £15. It is a small place so no big parties but you don't need to book. The only thing to be aware of is that your item needs firing so you would have to go collect a few days later. We are defiantly going back to make Christmas presents

My daughter had the bronze birthday party today and enjoyed it so much the owner was very helpful and friendly even i wanted to do a little painting lol i think im going to visit again soon with all four of my children and make something nice with them thanks very much and well be back soon x

Great place to take the kids especially on a miserable day because they will be well entertained and you can get really involved in making something with them. I took my boys when they were yound and they painted plates and put a palm print on them.....they are 21 and 19 now but the plates still hang on my office wall. Memories!

Put simply you take a piece of pottery be it a cup, plate, or ornament, then paint it to what ever design you come up with. It does become very absorbing and 2 or even 3 hours can pass very quickly.'
