Went there to try out their cocktails, and they didn't disappoint, great atmosphere, service. My husband and I really enjoyed 😉

Relaxed atmosphere. Great service and superb cocktail menu. Highly recommend this place if you are in Holmfirth.

We knew it was a great place for a drink, and they do fantastic pizza. Today, we had a light lunch, and it was superb value and great quality.

This is our second cocktail in as many days, Lani makes amazing cocktails and the bar has a great vibe. The pizza’s looked great although I haven’t tried one. 10/10. Well done guys.

Nice bar on three levels. Reasonable choice of drinks,but service was slow when we visited with five staff all seemingly focused on making coffees.

Called in for a warm drink Fri 15/03/24 visited Holmfirth rained as usual. We didn't eat there hence no stars for food but very pleasant staff there.

Great selection of craft beers, always changing. Highly recommend 'Neck oil' when it's on. Loads of choice for non beer drinkers too. Not tried the food since it's changed, menu looks good though. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Went there after a concert we'd been too. Very lively, vibrant atmosphere, good selection of cocktails. Exactly what we'd been looking for.

Nice relaxed surroundings, plenty of atmosphere.the staff went out of their way to make us feel very comfortable.coffee and cake was very nice and extra treats for my granddaughter.sweeties.first time visit but definitely not the last .

Very poor lunch experience today. Place was half empty yet 4 sandwiches took over 45 minutes to arrive. Staff seemed unhappy. Flies buzzing round us while we ate. No toilet roll in loo. Such a shame as we have had decent experiences here previously. Can't recommend this place any more unfortunately.

A fabulous & cozy little joint with upstairs seating...you need to check it out if you're in or near Holmfirth. They were serving very Tasty food...I had the chorizo and goats cheese with chilli jam panini with a side salad well dressed and some crisps Ialso shared some pulled pork loaded fries ..it was all very delicious.Service 5 star ...friendly &helpful staff .

We were trying to get back to our accommodation just outside Holmfirth. So we came across Oscars, where we thought we ask for a Taxi number and have a drink whilst we waited. When asking the young lady.at the.bar whether she had any taxi numbers, she replied "no we don't have any" then she followed up "have you tried google?" whilst laughing in a condescending manner. Might be worth brushing up your hosting skills. We'd already tried the phone numbers, but none of them were answering, hence asking for local assistance. Certainly wouldn't set foot in there again.

Lovely place, though I did not get the chance to speak to Oscar. Pleasant staff and a great atmosphere with nice drinks on offer. Space could be an issue as they don't have much to work with, but it's part of the charm and feels more cosy than crowded.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. There were plenty of tables upstairs as we hadn't booked anywhere. It's a really nice, chilled venue. The staff are lovely. We had the Club sandwich and tuna mayo in granary. The granary bread is to die for. They were both absolutely delicious and really filling. I didn't need any tea!

Nice place, had to quickly nip in between football games. The place was clean, modern looking and the staff very friendly. We ordered coffees that were brought to our table, we ordered 4 sandwiches which came in good time. They were all presented well, the salad accompanying the food was really refreshing and my bacon, brie, and chilli panini was tasty. All sandwiches well recieved and enjoyed by us all. Definitely worth a visit.

We called in on a really wet rainy day. We're so pleased we did. We ate lunch here and the pulled pork wrap and chicken with sweet chili panini. Both were saved on a chopping board with fresh mixed leaves salad, pomegranate. Everything burst with flavour. We also drank two flat white coffees which were nice and strong in a large cup. All the staff were very friendly and everywhere very clean. We definitely will call in for another lunch. The portions and cost was extremely reasonable too. We sat upstairs and watched the world pass by.

A cosy, stylish Holmfirth bar. The staff were super friendly and dogs are welcomed with open arms. Excellent little bar.

Walked in no greeting from the manageress she was too busy talking very loudly to a regular. Didn’t make us feel welcome at all and no goodbye when we left. You need to up your customer service skills as there are many more friendly bars nearby and we will spend our money there from now on.

Very nice little bar, however do not really want to hear the bar/cooks conversations about being on the toilet. Didn’t feel very relaxed with their back ground (loud) talking.

What a thoroughly nice place to be! We stumbled upon here by accident, but what a find! Really lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and cool retro tunes. Wine was really reasonable and absolutely gorgeous. The whole place is so beautifully decorated throughout, including the loo's which were immaculate. We came late afternoon with our younf child and it was no bother, we also appreciated another table had a well behaved pupper too! Would love to spend more time here. 10/10 recommend!

Good selection of drinks especially cocktails, friendly staff and location smack in the middle of Holmfirth.

We popped in yesterday for a cocktail, and ended up staying for our tea too. We ordered the rustic sausage pizza and cheesy garlic bread, and both were absolutely delicious, plus they were both half price as there was a promotion on (Wednesday). The berry cocktail was also lovely too, so would highly recommend. They do have a specials board too, which also looked interesting. The venue is welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly and looked after us very well. It is also dog friendly too. Toilets are good and easily accessible. Well worth a visit for a cocktail or beer or wine, and would definitely recommend trying their pizzas. Will definitely go back again when we next visit Holmfirth.

Nothing more to say Pizza is simply gorgeous, would put pictures but finished it so that’s no good. Worth a visit and beers are great too.

I would never go back here! 2 of our family members ordered our mash and peas. There was 6 of us in total (our sister husband and child came for a visit from far away) When the food was bought to the table we waited ages for the other dishes to come out so some had almost finished by the time the last person got theirs. We also then had to ask and wait for cutlery! When the pies arrived, we were informed there were no peas! Why not warn us so we could have changed our mind? When I mentioned this I was told there was extra mash on the plate which is a lie because we were told earlier there was only 2 portions of mash left! I was told we wouldn’t be getting a discount which is rediculous. Bad attitude! I will never go there again and will tell anybody not to go! So embarrassing that I took my sister in law there. This was my first visit which will also be my last!

Went in on my own while I was waiting for someone. The staff were really friendly and good to talk to as I was there solo. Highly recommend for a relaxed atmosphere, good drinks and good pizza!

A mass of large cheese wedges, meats along with pickle, grapes salad and pate.. GF bread with tomatoes and a mass of oatcakes (GF) … biggest sharing platter I’ve ever seen. The staff could not have been nicer… wd highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

New management have improved service

had a couple of drinks in here nice bar to sit and watch the world go by in. It is quite small downstairs but there is another room upstairs if you struggle to find a seat.

Mila and Issy are amazing bar staff, helped us find the most tasty cocktails. The vibe in the bar is so calm and fun, we can't wait to come back

Always loved this place new owners and staff very friendly and efficient. My dog loves it as well she gets spoilt and loves the treats.

Had a lovely time in Oscar's on Saturday day time. The panini's were lovely and really good value for money. There were a couple of really big groups of people in and the staff seemed to be coping really well. Really nice decor and friendly owner. We'll definitely go back 😁

Oscars is welcoming the staff always friendly and the cocktails are to die for. A must visit for Holmfirth.

Very disappointing experience from start to finish sadly. Some aggressive guy pushed in front of us at the bar and the staff still served him. Then when they poured my pint it was obviously a wet and warm glass, I asked for them to change it for me because it was flat, the girl behind the bar UNIRONICALLY and right in front of my face just poured the same beer into another glass, despite me telling her it was flat now. Won't be coming back, very pretentious with a very strange crowd of people. Not covid safe in the slightest, people trying to get behind and close to you constantly. Gross.

Visited this cozy little cafe/bar on the three days we stayed in the centre of Holmfirth. Really great fresh food. Tasty jacket spud with huge filling and salad served promptly and by a lovely young lady called Beck. Also visited for cake and coffee( peanut chocolate cake out of this world) Our last night prior to going to watch T Rextasy at the brilliant Picturedome (great venue) we had cocktails which were amazingly fruity with just the right amount of alcohol. Really nice vibe and exchanged some giggles with people visiting the bar. Will be revisiting again when we return to Holmfirth.

We had a great weekend at holmfirth and really enjoyed oscars. Great atmosphere and very friendly people. Definitely will return .

Lovely salads, sandwiches a bit too big

Moved here in lockdown. Keen to try Oscars, looks absolutely delightful and 4.5 stars out of 5 on here. Called in for breakfast, one vegetarian and one English. Our drinks came, our food did not. Neither did the food for the table next to us. We had somewhere to be so after 40 minutes we went to the till to ask for a refund. The kitchen (next to the till) had 3 staff in. One was leaning in the doorway on her phone. One took a plate up to the table next to ours whereby it was refused because they were fed up of waiting too. The return of this plate of food was met with much hilarity in the kitchen. Person 4 (operating the till), could not work out how to refund us back onto our card, eventually giving us cash for the breakfasts which hadn’t even been started being cooked - we know what time we ordered and now we were on just over 40 minutes. We were told they’d take 5 minutes to cook when we initially asked for the refund. I realise orders are cooked in turn, but when everyone is stood around looking bored, even if there’d been a ‘run’ at some point earlier, it begs the question if it takes only 5 minutes, why have we waited 40 plus? It would have been good form to include the tea and coffee as a gesture of goodwill in the refund, and it would have been even better form to have revisited our table, apologise for the delay, offer more drinks and tell us what time we may have expected our food. By the way, we had to go downstairs and get sugar for our hot drinks ourself too. We left, and went to the sandwich shop opposite and despite there being people already queuing, within a few minutes I had purchased breakfast sandwiches which we ate in the car. Not the brunch experience I had imagined. I wanted to like Oscars, I really did. But after this mornings shambles, coupled with the looks of disbelief and giggles on asking for a refund, we won’t return and I won’t recommend Oscars to anyone either.

Friendly and comfortable, and dogs welcomed which is nice. Good cocktails, and a great range of drinks. The food is simple and nicely done, and prices are reasonable. It's a pleasant place to hang out and be with friends.

Whilst walking round Holmfirth my wife and I called into 'Oscars' We ordered a Pint of IPA and a Latte' Coffee along with a cake each and chose a window seat. Our cakes and drinks arrived and we sat and watched the public walk by...........

Oscar’s absolutely exceeded our expectations, my cocktails were 10/10, our daughters milkshake went down extremely well and the food was presented beautifully and was delicious in every way, refreshing experience with attentive staff….we will definitely be back! Thank you

Visited for afternoon tea Saturday & thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous savoury & sweet treats that were presented. We had bottomless prosecco & lager and the staff were extremely attentive, we were never without a drink! Staff are lovely & friendly, highly recommend!

Atmosphere, coffee etc were very good however the window sills etc were VERY dusty. Only opened last week so should have been cleaned.

Love this little bar our favourite place, Rich the young guy who works there is so freindly and enthusiastic, and knows his stuff ,all the staff are friendly!! try the charcuterie platter to share, it's a lovely treat, while you are enjoying a glass or 2!!! Best place in Holmfirth. The lady serving us on Friday night was just fabulous and so lovely. Great selection of drinks but I’d recommend the owner gets some port in.

Had drinks & meal here. Felt very safe with Covd rules being adhered too. The food and service was excellent with very friendly staff.

Once again my husband and I have a wonderful cooked breakfast in a safe environment. Service is efficient and friendly. What else could you possibly as for. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Fingers crossed now that they have some ginger cake to take with us. Thank you.

We have visited here, many times, and we just love it. It's dog-friendly and the staff are always really friendly and accommodating. The food is outstanding and it's got a relaxing atmosphere.

Staff were very welcoming and accomodating for our party...went above and beyond to ensure all the guests had a great time! The upstairs rooms and layout were perfect for our event, with space for a fabulous singer. Great evening. Great venue.

Wow, what can I say.... we live in Holmfirth and have been in oscars a handful of times, and almost every time, the staff’s attitude has been way below the standard you’d expect for the inflated prices you charge. You’d expect an excellent service from experienced bar staff, but you just don’t provide this. Thursday 21st November was no exception. Well done, you’ve now lost a large group of locals as customers and word gets around! Miserable, patronising and ignorant bar staff who have no clue regarding customer service. Shame on you!!!!

Great food and cocktails excellent

We popped in to Oscar's for the first time 12/11/2019 for coffee and lunch. All the staff were very welcoming and the quirky layout lends itself to finding a quite corner or sitting watching the world go by. The coffee was excellent and lunch was served beautifully and we both enjoyed ever morsel. Great spot to spend some relaxed time on your visit.
