Magic Rock Tap in Kirklees

Drawn in by the promise of cocktails (for me) and beer for the husband, a really nice micro brewery... but I did feel a bit "odd one out" wanting a cocktail... and wasn't sure where these were served so had a beer instead!! Nice place to go, if you're wanting more of a beer tasting maybe pop here in the day as it gets quite busy in the evening.

Interesting bar, it was a Wednesday so very quiet but the place still had a good atmosphere. Good choice of drinks to pick from. All very clean and Covid safe

We had to book. Naturally! And our table needed a full clean before we could be seated which took a bit of time, but does demonstrate they're taking their responsibilities seriously. Shown to our table by the very friendly and approachable staff. Drinks menus were clear and we tried the cocktails which were very good. And good beers as well - it is a Tap House afterall. Stayed for a couple of drinks before moving on to eat elsewhere but we would have happily stayed longer. The atmosphere in all pubs is a bit stilted but this place will absolutely be one of the trendiest and busiest places in town when we get back to normality.. I'll be going again when I go back to Holmfirth,

due to social distancing rules in place here ..we found it stressful...as their were seven of us unfortunately apparently..six is the limit....so had to sit on 2 seperate tables and shout to each other..awkward....great decor and vibe to the place...city centre feel to it..went to a few more bars in holmfirth with less restrictions.....

Popped in for a few drinks, and was very happy with the service, covid safe at it's best. Would definitely recommend
