Fantastic Sunday Lunch. Four of went on 23/2/25 - the starters were great - smoked trout pate with sourdough; three different roasts available for mains and a superb selection of vegetables; and a single portion of STP big enough for two, washed done with a lovely Chilean red - great food, great taste, great service, at a reasonable price - costs more than a big standard pub meal, but tasted far better, so overall great value. I hope it is available on a regular basis as I would highly recommend it and we will be back.

Stopped for a small lunch as a family of 6. The male owner of the restaurant moved a paying customer who was half way through his sandwich off a table and asked him to sit on a chair and use the top of a fridge as his table - which was totally embarrassing for us.l and absolutely unacceptable to which other customers were commenting how shocked they were. Whilst ordering the poor girl serving was spoken to awfully by the same person. I presume she is used to it as she didnt seem to flinch much about it. Staff should not be spoken to in that manner. My son then chose to eat a sandwich from greggs instead as thats what he prefers and the male owner of the restaurant stormed over to our table and demanded he “gets his drinks and food off his table” which made him feel very uncomfortable. I understand if he was not happy for him to eat this in his shop however there is a way to go about letting people know your policy. My son and partner then had to go outside to eat in the freezing cold. Once eaten they came back in and the male I feel was keeping an eye out to make sure they didn’t take up the spare table next to us as they now were not paying customers even though we ordered 4 meals and 3 drinks. If we hadnt had already ordered and paid for the food I would have left and ate elsewhere. We will not be returning!

Delivery of turkey roast lunch. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much Kim and staff. Not worth cooking when you can get lunch as good as this straight to your door.

We came across this gem of a pub so we popped in for a drink nice inside after a beach walk good prices.will visit again when next in Filey

Vino a tomar algo mientras los chicos jugaban en el parque. No había estado antes y parecía tener un gran ambiente. Pedí dos bebidas que llegaron a casi £ 7. Esperó al menos 20 minutos para recibir 2 bebidas pequeñas mediocres y frías. Muy decepcionado.

Disappointed with our experience, food was ok but it just wasn't hot, my scrambled eggs were flat cold as soon as I started eating it, had 2 slices of toast with my veggie breakfast which were just piled on top! Better presentation would be on a side plate. It also felt cold in the cafe. The grilled tomato didn't look or taste grilled!! And the mushrooms were tasteless and just seemed like they had been blanched in water. Sauteed in a bit of butter or Olive oil with some seasoning would be nice!

Was slightly dubious that a pub could do Thai food, how wrong I was totally amazing, looking forward to trying more dishes on my next visit

Nos encanta este lugar. Mi marido, mi pequeño y yo amamos parar a tomar un café y tal vez un pastel o almuerzo regularmente. Siempre son muy amables y serviciales y genial con mi pequeño. Buen café, buena comida!

The good was amazing. Fresh, hot and plenty of choice too. The service was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect. So neat, tidy and modern with great views too. I definitely will be booking again soon

Kate fue una de las mejores camareras que he experimentado, nos alegró la noche. Honestamente el mejor bar de la historia! Ella era tan amable tan hasta los pies de la tierra y un anfitrión increíble.

The place itself was nice enough, but I had a chicken sandwich at around £4.50 and it was literally 2 slices of bread with chicken and a little salad. My wife had a tuna jacket potato. I had to ask for butter as there was minimal butter on it and the tuna was really dry as if only a drop of mayo had been put in. Nothing else with it. Poor value for money all round.

Thought we would try this place out not impressed with the overall experience of food the Sunday dinners beef not great nor the service waiter/staff took telling over 3 times for desserts had to wait over 30 mins for just brownies in the end just had to say cancel it too much time for something that take a couple of minutes to do the next day most of the family had upset stomachs wouldn’t recommend this place unless the service of communication to the cook and food standard is more on point than mediocre presentation we were compensated some money off the desserts but even the brownies are nothing different that shop bought similarities and tight portions to say the least the differences between kids to adults sizes not by much. To say the least and the only major positive was the decor of the overall place well set out looks inviting at least.

Nos alojamos en el Fat Badger, York el 5 de marzo de 2025 por una noche, habiendo reservado una habitación superior directamente en línea con el hotel. Desafortunadamente el término Superior no se aplica, la habitación es más como una habitación estándar que se encuentra en cualquier hotel. La instalación del armario es una alcoba cubierta por una cortina, posiblemente adecuada para una estancia de una noche, pero no me gustaría pensar que estaba parando por más tiempo. Solo hay una mesita de noche. El drenaje de la ducha necesitaba atención porque el plato se seguía llenando hasta desbordarse y el agua tenía que ser cerrada con frecuencia para evitar que inundara el baño. El interruptor de la luz sobre el lavabo se cayó cuando intenté apagarlo. Volví a colocar la placa de conmutación y no intenté usarla de nuevo. Bastante peligroso en un baño. En el lado positivo el pub y el personal son excelentes. Es una pena que el hotel no cumpliera con nuestras expectativas. No recomendaría o se alojaría de nuevo.

I visited the cafe yesterday and found that the staff were very helpful and friendly. I had a sandwich which was delicious and a large latte coffe which was so good, I had another! I really enjoyed my visit to the cafe and will visit every time I go to Beverley, the helpful staff and the fact that the cafe was clean and tables were cleared straight away, made it very enjoyable.

Jake el propietario es uno de los mejores chicos que conocerás. Siempre manteniendo contentos a sus clientes. Al menos 10 de nosotros, los lugareños, venimos aquí numerosas veces a la semana. Muy recomendable!
