Previously had good experiences here but arrived last Sunday at 11.32am and wanted breakfast and was told we were 2 minutes late to order. No offer of toast or anything savoury, only cakes available before 12pm. The attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired. Suffice to say we walked out and went to Cherry Lane, who have no such policy. We got there at around 11.45am, which was too late for breakfast but we ordered from the lunchtime menu. No issues at all. Not entirely sure why they need to close the kitchen for 30 minutes in between breakfast & lunch, Cherry Lane seemed to manage perfectly well. Not only did the cafe miss out on our custom, the garden centre did too as we bought all of our plants from Cherry Lane as well. Unfortunate as we like HodgeHill but it will be quite a while before we return.

Random! Great for hot drinks. Food? While it looked lovely, the menu really didn’t fit what you’d expect. We were shown to one room that was so cramped. Menu was really not in keeping with what I felt the general public would want mid day during the week. It felt as though it was aiming for high end, but really not reaching it with the environment, and the staff while pleasant just added to the overall feeling of it being, I’m not sure how to put it, slightly off. I’ve visited before and it had a very different feel. I’m unsure, what it was, but I wouldn’t revisit. Drinks 100% revisit, food no.

My friends and I judge a town (and coffee shops) by their bakewell tarts and this one is our current 1st place winner! It's not a formal competition, but the home made cakes here are out of this world and must be sampled (lots of times!). It's a lovely coffee bar and well worth the visit. We had 3 x bakewell tarts (plus more bought for take out), 2 x hot chocolates and 1 x pot of tea (no milk for the tea).

Ideal situation in middle of Mell Sq, v busy, v friendly service, ate bacon bap and sausages in sourdough toast, large portions and v tasty, reasonable price, could not fault and will revisit.

It's got a new name now, The Albionn. I stopped in for a coffee with my husband early Saturday morning. I had a lovely creamy cappuccino along with a toasted croissant with butter and jam. I found the two young ladies waiting tables very polite and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxed with subtle background music. Some events posted on the windows which was nice to see.

What an absolute joy. Visiting Redditch with friends we were soon sick of the soulless Wetherspoons, thank God we found the Black Tap! Four real ales, all excellent, a huge selection of everything else, live music and friendly and welcoming locals and dogs. We sang the night away and drank everything. The crowning glory of the Black Tap? The Landlady. Wow. What an atmosphere she generates, she takes this place from good to simply amazing Thank you so much for a truly memorable night and see you October 🇧🇷

Came as a walk in when travelling home. They were very happy to accommodate. Home made Sunday lunch, plenty of veg. Lovely puddings. Thank you for fitting us in.

Had a lunch delivered and delivery person had soaked the bottom of the bag. Subsequently when taken into house the meal went all over floor , when cafe was called she appeared to understand what had happened but said there was no recourse and no recompense. Apparently its Deliveroos problem , what good customer service !

Family lunch. Great menu. Enormous portions! Even the child’s portions are very generous. Very pleasant staff and prompt service even though only one member doing it all! We will definitely be back. Great garden area too

Not welcoming when you came into the cafe, very cluttered & felt like walking into someone’s house. Lady was busy on the phone to serve me for a while. Wasn’t knowledgeable on gluten free ice cream options and wasn’t completely sure they all were GF. £4 for one small scoop of ice cream is extortionate and there were all ice crystals in the ice cream like the ice cream had been sat in the freezer for months so it got thrown in the bin after a few bites. I will not be returning or recommending.

First popped into the Cafe on the way to the m50 for a pitstop about 12 months ago.oOn that occassion ordered a jacket potato with cheese. Took 40 mins and then it had cream cheese covered with a birds dropping size of hard cheese. Disgusting. Called in again this weekend as driver was hungry and ordered 2 lots of salad sandwich, a sausage roll and a slice of cake. Cost, 24.00. Asked for mayo but didn't have any. Sandwich consisted of two slices of dried bread and the salad was a lettuce leaf, a chunk of tomatoe and a slice of cucumber. Barely covered the meat but meat was OK, 2 slices of ham. Put together by a 4 year old by the looks of it. Cake was good though. However in future I will be using the mobile snack bar in the nearby lay-by if he's there next time I'm passing.

We came across this cafe while on holidaying in the area. Initially we were just going to stop for a drink but after seeing the menu we decided to have an early lunch. The menu had a good selection of hot and cold choices as well as a large option on a specials board. I went for the all day breakfast which was one of the best I have had at a cafe. It came with 2 eggs of my choice, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, black pudding, mushroom, tomato, baked beans and perfectly fried bread. The OH had an open steak sandwich on cream cheese with wedge potatoes and an amazing side salad that wasn't your usual few leafs with cucumber and tomato. We even took a couple of scones home with us as they looked delicious (and they were). All the staff were friendly, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with our food. It's a shame we found this lovely cafe at the end of our stay.

They open at 7.00 A.M. but at 11.00 had a Chicken Bake and a sausage roll. The CB was stone cold and S roll was rule warm. Would forgive if they had a problem but unfortunately this is was not the first time. Won't be using again. The Maybird one is much better.
