Well what a little hidden of Redditch this place is , I’ve used the place at times over the past few years but my wife and I have started popping in after work the past 6 weeks or so , the pub is small and cosy but it does have a large pool room, the quality of the drinks are exceptional ( I was a palate and aroma consultant with Bass Brewery) so I know what I’m talking about , they have live music, dj etc on many weekends and a lovely front patio over looking the bandstand and fountain .. check it out you will be impressed , Tim , known as M & C . Thanks Susan keep up the good work!!

It was my first time to the black tap it was a proper pub with a great selection of ales and ciders at very reasonable prices the staff were very friendly and the fire was nice if we hadn't booked a table for a curry down the road we would have stayed all night

Great selection of beers and exceptionally good service. Definitely a local hangout. Toilets need serious addressing.

We like this place normally, it has good beers and lovely cocktails. However, we left very early this evening as the live band were T00 LOUD. We were sitting immediately in front of a speaker as there was nowhere else to sit and my eardrums were throbbing. A live band with 3 speakers is just too much for this tiny place and their music was very so-so . We were also quite offended by the elderly band members telling the clientele that if the music was too loud, then we were too Old to be there. They must have been in their 60s at least. Could you hire a nice, polite, quiet acoustic band in future please ?

A quirky place that is probably the nearest thing to marmite for patrons and visitors. Very basic place with a real log fire. Beer barrels for urinals and an equally quirky bar clientele A great pint of Peaky Blinders Black IPA, which speaks volumes in its own right. For the everyone to judge in their own right way.

This wasn’t a brew pub when we visited, and that’s the only reason we went. The breeding vessels were sold off. It’s a dive. To be avoided.

Lovely place, good drinks, live musing and an amazing atmosphere! Place decorated with taste, it must be very cosy at winter time, can't wait to check out. Definitely coming again! Thanks Isram for the great performance!

Had heard good things about this place - and let’s face it - a nice place in Redditch is desperately needed. This, however, is not that place; and was quite disappointed. The place could be so much better, with just a little more attention and investment. I guess they’re trying to not change it too much, but they actually need to. It’s quite a sad space inside, and not really a nice place to enjoy a drink. Will consider returning in the summer, as there is a small outside area to the front.

The beer was quite good but it was like drinking in an old grubby railway waiting room. There was an open fire but with the very high ceiling and no double glazing, on a winter's night, it was still cold even though I was wearing a jacket. Friendly service.

This Pub offers an alternative place to drink. I like the fact it's quirky and different. The Ales are nice it's never been busy when I visited. If you're in Redditch and fancy a pint it's worth walking through church green to get away from the mainstream pubs.

Stopped by here the other night it's a micro brewery place and the beer was not bad. Place felt a little bit grubby and I got the hump as they charged me for a tiny bag of McCoy crisps which they had got from a multi pack. Cost less than 20p to them and over a pound to me. Not very classy! Service Friendly.

Wants to be a cool, hipster brewery but falls short in decor and service. Refused the use of the loyalty card system they operate and generally a bit hard-nosed. A bit meh.

It's nice to find a drinking establishment that caters for the discerning drinker with a variety of home brewed and local ales. Yes, the ales are a little more expensive but you pay for quality and I have never had a bad pint to date.

I braved the weather on the Eve of 6th Feb 2017 to to get to this pub as staying in area for a month. Monday evenings, it's website says open from 4-11pm. Sign on the door saying it wasn't beer o'clock yet so closed..no lights, not answering phone, either!!

I went for a wander whilst my wife was shopping in the Kingfisher center and came across The Black Tap, if like me you hate shopping :( and love real ale :) plus the growing micro pub scene then this is for you! 4 ales on tap when I visited, roaring log fire, nicely fitted decor, brewery visible and situated behind the bar, friendly staff, only wish I'd been around all day! be back on an evening next time for sure! top marks well done guys.

The Black Tap opened with such great promise. Great beer, great service, a caring and experienced manager and great ambitions. And a slightly shabby chic demeanour to boot.

A little while ago the Black tap was a welcoming warm place to go. Tonight however once again only had IPA or lager where once they had nice smokey/chocolate porter. Also they had no ice for Gin&tonic; plus I had to request a slice of lemon. Last orders was called at 10.45 where the barmaid promptly wedged all the doors open to make the establishment feel cold and unwelcoming ( congratulations you certainly succeeded in that dept ). So I guess it's back to Wetherspoons where the service is smarter, the room is warmer, and the drinks are cheaper . I'm so disappointed having to write this as it has been a real pleasure going to the Black Tap before. As I said " What's going on ?

We visited on the Friday night and enjoyed all the beers on offer. The staff are friendly, as are the regular customers. a real fire is an added bonus. The brewer was also happy to discuss his beers and hear what we thought. The coffee mild was quite unusual and it is so nice to find someone who is brewing things other than blonde beers. I will definitely return soon!

Great looking building in a nice setting however hard to believe its only been open a few months as the inside is very shabby and appears a little unloved. Which is a shame as the brewer appears pretty talented with a nice variety of Black Tap ales on cask. Well worth a visit if you're in Redditch but needs more attention to the premises to make you linger a little longer.

We've been to the Black Tap quite a few times and its getting better each time. The beers on offer are now excellent and the food is good (but limited choice). Only issue is that the seating could be a bit more comfy when you want to settle in for an hour or so.

Was invited to an open-mic night here and was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the building as there was a lovely, welcoming log fire, and the musicians were set up in the huge bay window, which overlooks the Churchyard and fountain, such a nice outlook, especially for those of us that hail from Redditch! The Hosts were also very welcoming, had no idea what to drink, as there were a great many choices in their home brewed beer! However, they lined up a number of small taster glasses for me to make my choice, different experience for sure. We will definitely return to The Black Tap, nice little pub with equally nice atmosphere.

When here with some friends on a Sunday evening. It was a bit quiet like everywhere else we had been but the differences were friendly staff and owner. Great tasting beer and a more interesting bar than other in Redditch. You can see some of the vats they use for brewing behind the bar and I tried the Morning Glory (IPA) and the Porter and they both tasted really good.

Real ale fans should be paying this little brew pub a visit. It had been open some weeks before I heard about it so they need to be advertising a bit more but it doesn't take many to make this place look busy. Good beer and the wife not only liked the pub but found a beer she liked as well - result! Very limited food options but that is the way I hope it will stay. I will be supporting this place every time I visit the town centre. They have a loyalty card too!

Made a special trip as the website made a big thing of being dog friendly. Unfortunately the food was overpriced and my dish, slow cooked beef rib, was inedible. Swimming in grease and veg taken to the limit of Al Dente. They did offer a fresh meal but my appetite by this time had well gone. Disappointing.

This is our favourite cafe in the Kingfisher shopping centre & has recently been renamed and the service & quality of the food was excellent as usual. The staff are very attentive & the tables are kept spotlessly clean & it's always a pleasure to visit.
