We enjoyed a fabulous meal last night and drinks too. The food was delicious, nicely presented and plenty of it. Try the nachos, yummy as was everything we had. The staff were all very friendly and nice. What a beautiful pub it is and you should see the pretty garden too. We Highly recommend The Rose & Crown. Thank-you for having us and feeding us too 😊

Having a holiday in the area we thought we thought we would try The Rose and crown as they were “ dog friendly “ however upon arrival we were screamed at by a bar women no dogs in here get in the bar! Obviously as we’ve never been here before we just entered at the closest door to us when we parked and as there were no signs on the door we weren’t aware. Whilst we understand there are no dogs in the restaurant, a polite word of letting us know where to go rather than being screamed at would have been lovely.

We recently used the Rose Room here to celebrate a platinum wedding anniversary. The staff and management could not have been more helpful. Great care and attention was taken with the layout of the room and a lovely buffet was provided. If you're just a normal pub visitor you'll find this is a traditional English village pub which is grade 2 listed. It hosts a comfortable bar and lounge both of which allow you to imagine the building back at its origins. There is also a large, well cared for beer garden. We can't thank this establishment enough.

This is a beautiful old pub with a glorious garden and lovely friendly staff but it is totally let down by the food served up. I went with a family of five adults and two children and we ordered five different menu choices and all of them were uninspiring and tasteless. It is such a shame that the management think the food is acceptable. I have been to this pub on a couple of other separate occasions on a weekday lunchtime and had a filled baked potato, which was very good, so recommended it to my family as a potentially good place to have a family meal. Everyone was disappointed with their food, even the children. Could I humbly give the chef and management some menu advice. Reduce your menu, focus on offering food well sourced and well cooked to do justice to this beautiful pub.

With sadness I write this review with reference to the poorly presented and substandard food served to me on a recent evening out with friends. The vegetarian menu lacked zest and imagination and very little choice on the evening. Unfortunately, the customer service I have experienced in giving feedback has not been dealt with professionally . Resulting in the proprietor raising her voice and terminating my call! An extremely disappointing and upsetting experience all round.

This is my number one, go-to pub in Redditch, whether we want something to eat, or just a drink. The lounge is cosy and traditional, the food is consistently good and reasonably priced (plus you get a decent portion size), and the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. They have a big beer garden, which is delightful in summer, with plenty of seating. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough to anyone living in the area, or just visiting. This lovely pub with its excellent service, top quality food and drink at reasonable prices is a gem in the small village of Feckenham. As if this is not enough, anyone who loves their flowers will be blown away by the pretty walled garden with towering hollyhocks and other cottage garden plants, all neatly edged by rows of lavender, along with ample seating and wooden huts around the garden make this a pleasant beer-garden in both summer and winter. Inside the pub a warm friendly atmosphere and a log fire in winter make it a most welcoming place to be any time of year.

I’ve visited this establishment many times over the years, and have eaten several times here too. My wife and I called in for lunch today, they were moderately busy and we sat at a table in the attractive garden. The lady that served us was pleasant and attentive, our drinks were served promptly and were perfectly fine. After perusing the menu we both ordered the Malaysian Vegetable Curry, which unfortunately proved a bad choice. Sadly I can say in all honesty it was the worst ‘curry’ that I’ve ever been served in my life. It comprised a bland mix of undercooked vegetables briefly boiled in a thin watery broth which tasted as if it consisted of nothing but water and cheap curry powder. I suppose it may have contained a little ginger but no hint of any of the aromatic ingredients usually associated with South Asian cuisine (lemon grass, coconut, garlic, lime leaves, chillies, curry leaves, tamarind, coriander, fermented soy etc.) were apparent. After a short while the lady who served us came over to enquire if everything was OK - upon our mentioning the problem with the vegetables she informed us that they were served ‘Al Dente’. Our understanding of that term means ‘firm to the bite but not undercooked’, but we chose not to make a fuss over semantics. She kindly offered us complimentary deserts, which we declined. Given that our previous experiences of the Rose & Crown were entirely positive it would be wrong to score this review solely on the basis of one bad meal, but should we choose to eat there again I think we’ll stick with traditional pub grub.

Myself & my partner drove to feckenham on the 16/10/2020 & did a walk Starting & finishing at the rose & crown. We decided to have a quick drink before driving home. We walked by looked in the lounge and bar area and noticed it was very quiet. We asked if it was possible to pop in for a drink and to sit in the bar which looked very quiet the reason being that we were wearing walking boots and asked if any seats were available in the bar ? we were informed “we have limited spaces”.......well there’s only 2 of us & we are only having one drink!!!! We were then advised we could sit in one of the summer houses outside that were heated and someone would serve us and we thought fair enough. There was hand sanitizer available but nothing to track or track our presence no signing in , and no bar code to register on the COVID app? And if there was we were not directed to it we were just told to Sanitise hands. We looked for barcode but saw nothing as we check in to everywhere we go So we were anonymous on arrival ? We proceeded to the summer house and no one came after being there 10 mins to serve us so we left. No one knew we were there and it seemed like we inconvenienced staff of our visit I understand this is a village pub! We won’t be going back. Two very disappointed customers !!!!!

Nice venue, food was good. Steak cooked well, burger home made and very tasty. Kids all satisfied with the food. Lemonade was watered down though, or flat. Due to covid its now table service, and various rules are now in place which is good, but a bit overkill. When we arrived we were barked at and ordered around like it was boot camp. It was a hot day, and we wanted to be topped up with drinks, but asking for service? I actually felt guilty, you could sense the disdain in their voices when asked for more drinks, or ice, a high chair or anything for the matter. They did do their best to make.the odd pleasantry, but it was overshadowed by all the other passive comments. Think one was the owner, older lady, and younger, still oldish, Irish woman were clearly stressed which echoed around the place and left a sour ambience. Maybe we caught them on a bad day? Again, the food was good, can't fault that, but we were not made to feel welcome. I doubt that we'll be returning which is a shame as the food is good, but customer service not so much.

Had a great meal here this afternoon in this lovely olde-worlde-style village pub. I was visiting the area, staying with friends, and when out just driving around we decided to stop off here for lunch, so glad we did. I really like finding places like this , such character compared to alot of what you get nowadays. The lady behind the bar was welcoming and friendly, got chatting for a while with a gentleman at the bar who was a local - A real pleasant atmosphere about the place. Was a horrible day weather wise - raining & cold, so sat in this pub with the low ceilings, right by the fire was really nice. I ordered the Cajun chicken with chips and pea's & thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was cooked nicely and had a great smoked taste about it. Completely filled me up & I never ate again that day ! To drink, I spotted a cider I hadn't seen before - "Lilley's Cherries and Berries" - so tried that and loved it so much I had a second pint of it and I don't usually drink in the daytime to be honest. (Have been online & ordered some of it to have at home I enjoyed it so much!) When I next stay in the area with my friends I'd definitely like to return to this pub. Thanks to all the staff & keep up the good work !
