Great friendly place,big beer garden and great staff

We had the back room for a birthday celebration they let us do what we wanted with decorations and sorting food as well

The pub has been through a few management transitions over the last couple of years but it looks like it's settling down now. The latest manager (Josh) keeps a good pint and regularly talks to his customers about guest ale options. Pub grub is the latest addition. When a match (football, rugby and most other sports) is on there is a offer of a pint with chicken wings, which seemed to go down well with those who tried them. Last night was the first time we ate there and we both had steak and ale pie. The pie was large, tasty and the pastry was flaky as it was cooked in an oven. There was a choice of fat or thin chips or mash and, because I've never grown up, I was offered baked beans instead of peas. The portion of garlic bread was enough to share. Our food was good value. It's nice to have an addition to the other current excellent eateries in the village.

Overpriced beer, needs a good clean up and decorating. Won’t be going back soon.

It's an ok pub, nice and warm, friendly landlord, average selection of beers. Great place to go for a quick drink after a long walk.

Great beer (Yardbird) and atmosphere. Made to feel very welcome by the new Landlord and his team. Definitely on my revisit list.

As always food was spot on, great pints of Moretti, attentive service and lovely surroundings sat in the garden. Great local 👍

We've been out for a meal at several pubs/ restaurants in the local area, our experience here has been the best by far. No need to book outside tables, can book inside. Plenty of tables available. Service for drinks and food was fantastic, servers were very friendly, efficient and attentive. Food was outstanding. Excellent quality, cooked to perfection. Not a huge variety on the menu but the serve main meals and tapas as well. Small park in the sunny garden to entertain kids. Had a great evening here

Really impressed with the gazebo in the garden. Prompt, friendly service and decent beer. The food menu wasn't large but everything was lovely - lovely burgers and chicken curry.

Just finished our take out valentine dinner. As good a valentine dinner as weve had! Good quality, good portions, good choice of menu. Well presented, lovely touch the bottle of fizz in a red bag with a red rose tucked in. Highly recommend trying their next event meal. Excellent value for money. Thanks for our romantic meal locked in..... hope to see you in person again soon.

We visited for a recent Greek night and had a lovely evening with great food and friendly service. We have had great Indian food and Sunday lunches here in the past, so they are good at providing a variety of food.

The oddies is the best local around. Always welcoming for all, amazing food and company. The children can play and the adults can relax in the lovely garden setting and live music is always planned in for that extra entertainment. Home from home

We loved the Oddies, the food the company, the welcoming feel you get for all the family. The garden is perfect for families or just couples after a nice relaxing drink. The drinks offerings are wide and the food is superb!! Would highly recommend - this pub is a home from home and all round great place to be!!

Turned up on Sunday with my lad to play a pre-arranged live gig, Booked by his mate and band frontman. One slight hitch...no-one in the pub knew anything about it!? Turns out we were booked at the Oddies in Seaham County Durham a mere 211 miles away 😂. So when life give you lemons and with a very accommodating landlord they played anyway and although I’m biased; what a gig. Excellent venue and hats off to the gaffer and locals who made a geographical embarrassment into a great night! Check out the open mic nights on Tuesdays.

I'm a regular at this pub for the last 18 years. Good atmosphere, friendly locals, Good range of beers and spirits. Music night on Tuesdays with good local bands playing. Nice garden for the children to play in. Parking a issue if you coming from outside the area. The staff are great and the gaffer (John) not a bad bloke either.

Great little village pub, very surprising when you walk in it seems small but there are several really nice rooms and a very spacious beer garden, warm atmosphere and live music on a Tuesday night with the Open mic, some very talented musicians there too.

Lovely little old fashioned pub. Warm and cosy on the very cold day we visited for Sunday lunch. Food was delicious with a choice of meats and everything cooked fresh. Good sized portions too.

We popped in on speck to have a Sunday dinner here after a few recommendations from friends. We were not disappointed the meals were really well cooked and tasty. Good portions with a choice of three different meats and three vegetables plus potatoes. Served to the table with a gravy boat each. Super Sunday dinner!😊

Awesome atmosphere and great staff

Myself and friends meet up once a month at the Oddfellows. We have a meal and then stay for the quiz. The food is always very good. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Good old fashioned pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. The locals are friendly enough and It's worth a visit for Sunday dinner. The place could perhaps do with a coffee machine though as it's Nescafé or nowt!

We visited the pub on the Sunday following Christmas when the restaurant was not open so we can not comment on the food. However, we found the pub side to be charming.

This is your typical village pub situated in the heart of Astwood Bank, down a one way street of terraced houses. There is no car park and spaces immediately next to the pub are hard to come by so visitors may want to drop folk off and park up in a nearby street.
