Visited this place for a late lunch. The beef, pork and Turkey meats were delicious. The roast potatoes are poor but the rest of the veg was ok. There was so much salt in the gravy it ruined the meal. Social distancing was very poor. While eating our meal a crowd of locals came into the restaurant to watch the football and were very loud. Overall a very average carvery.

After visiting several times in the last 6 months I now feel its time to share my views & opinions for The New Talbot, Cheslyn Hay. I can confirm that The New Talbot offers a lovely Sunday Carvery, I believe there are 4 sittings, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm & 5pm, the dining area is very pleasant and spotless clean. Table service is offered with a very pleasant waitress on hand to take orders for drinks / starters / deserts. Since Sunday Lunch is Carvery style, once the chef has carved your choice of meat the rest is self serve, the roasts available are Beef, Pork or Turkey with the option of a generous sized Yorkshire Pudding, Stuffing, delicious Roast Potatoes, Skinned New Potatoes or Mash and a wide variety of seasonal vegtables and very tasty gravy. I personally recommend anyone to visit for Sunday Lunch, you will not be disappointed from my experiences. Top marks to The New Talbot for offering a reasonably priced, very enjoyable Sunday Lunch.

I went here with my elderly parents for Sunday lunch and had to endure a game of football on tv all through our meal, never again!

It’s hard to know where to start with this review... Decided to come here for the missus birthday for a bit of breakfast with the family. It was pretty busy when we arrived but quietened down by the time we were seated outside. Ordered our breakfasts , made our own drinks with the dirty cups provided . 2 breakfasts came out . Half an hour later 2 more came out . Bear in mind there was 7 adults & 4 young children!!! It would of been nice to eat our breakfast together!!!! I received my breakfast last an hour and a half after I ordered it !!! Follow by my toast 10 mins later !!!! The young girl serving was not apologetic at all !!! & very rude to be honest. To be fair to her she was on her own and clearly couldn’t cope . As for the breakfast itself , not great and certainly not worth the wait!!! I’m all for supporting my local boozer but this was unacceptable!! I could of cooked those breakfasts quicker myself . They need to get the basics right ,it ain’t rocket science. It’s breakfast... won’t be returning

Visited for Sunday carvery with friends and their baby (who was golden throughout bless her!). Food was faultless. Nice meats, good selection of veg cooked perfectly. Staff and service were spot on, no complaints there. Two very minor things which weren't a particular issue for us for maybe for some. 1 - the sitting at 2.30 was only for 90 minutes. We were still chatting so had to move into the bar which was ok with us but something to bear in mind if this isn't for you. 2 - it was quite cramped in the restaurant as it was very busy (which is a good sign to be honest - I'd have been worried if it was empty!). Didn't cause us a problem but felt a bit for the people's tables next to the people waiting at the service area for the carvery. Don't let any of the above out you off going though. It's well worth if for the money. Good ales too! We'll definitely be back.

Called in here for a Sunday afternoon drink, it's a lovely popular pub but as we've found on the last few visits, the atmosphere is lost by the too loud and too many TV,s which nobody seem to be watching ! Luckily on this visit they hadn't got the music battling to be heard over it all!! Great pub but could do with losing a TV or 2!!

My wife and I had Sunday lunch here as it was my birthday. The meal was very nice with plenty of meat and help yourself to the veg. At £10 for two courses set in a cosy dining room, you get a more personal service than your average chain pub. Well worth a try, I don`t think you will be disappointed. Beers good too.

First visit to the New Talbot for many, many years. Visited with a large group (10) for the Sunday Carvery. Very helpful when booking the table the day before. Carvery wasn't quite ready when we arrived so shown through to the bar for a drink (children welcome). Restaurant section well presented, food looked fabulous. Good choice of meats and vegetables. Very tasty and enjoyed by all of us. Nothing too much trouble. Great value - £100 for 10 of us including drinks. Thanks to the lovely, helpful staff.

Passed through Cheslyn Hay for the first time at the weekend and decided to pop in to the The New Talbot to get a drink and see if we could get some lunch. Really glad we made the visit. The atmosphere inside was very good - nice background music, mix of what presume was family/friend groups of different ages and friendly, efficient staff...even some toys for my daughter (toddler) to play with. The lunch option was a carvery and was definitely one of the best I've ever had when taking into account the combination of the quality of food, portion size and price - very good value for money. I'd definitely recommend this pub and I'll definitely visit again when over that way.

I have popped in a few times for a drink with my girlfriend and really liked the atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and there is a good selection of ales among the usual fare. The only downside is it is hard to get a seat if you get there too late but that is a minor point as it seems to be a very popular pub on Saturday nights so that is to be expected.

Awful..... You can definatley tell it has changed hands, we walked in to eat on a weekday night and was told I had to give notice before getting a table. We stayed for a drink and the staff behind the bar need training as they are young and don't even look old enough to work behind a bar! They all seemed to be wearing their own clothes which is quite unprofessional. The pint I was served was flat, whether this come down to the person who poured it or the glasses it needs sorting. My wife said the ladies toilets weren't as clean as they used to be and there was all dirt on the tiles under the hand dryer! Very poor experience as I used to love this pub it was the best on the village but will be going elsewhere in the future.

Had not been to this pub in a while as the last people that ran it made you feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. However, was invited to a wedding last week so was hoping that it would be better. My god wasn't it just, the new people are absolutely wonderful and catered to everybody's needs. They are very polite, happy and welcoming lady and gent. Always made sure all guests of the wedding party were ok and if they needed anything more than what we already had. Rooms were decorated lovely (fit for a perfect wedding!!) The buffet was absolutely beautiful. Such a wonderful welcoming pub, definitely 100% better than my last visit where I was spoken to rudely by the people who had it!! So glad to call it my local now. Thumbs up the new talbot Inn!!

What more can I say apart from first class service from both the young waiting staff and the chef. I had an eight ounce rump steak with all the trimming and a pint of Lager for£7.99 And a couple of little extras that did not come within the standard price.Excellent first class and cannot wait for a return visit.

Our party got together for Sunday Carvery, good value and well produced food. Vegetables were also well prepared. Vegetarian options available, but maybe a good idea to phone in advance if you are thinking of dining here just to make sure. Nice atmosphere, people are friendly. The pub has recently been refurbished and looks lovely. Nothing too much trouble to please customers.

It's the second time we've been in the last two weeks & each time had great food & service. There is a new manager who has improved things & we're looking forward to going again. Last time I had the mixed grill from the specials board which was fantastic. Not only good food but good value too. I've been recommending The Vine to friends since.

Planned a trip out to this place. Got there and it wasn’t even open even though Google said it should have been. Disappointed. 😔 (Seems I’m supposed to be a mind reader from the reply). Can only leave a review based off what I find, and when we had traveled especially to visit this place and find it shut how else am I meant to review it. 5 stars? 😆
