Excellent service and food. Felt very looked after.

Pre Covid since we last went. Seven of us went. The woman at front of house wasn't welcoming at all. My wife's brother organised it and emailed them in the morning to inform them there would now be seven of us. She completely ignored this fact and said the best she could do was a chair at the end if the table. She didn't even offer to get a chair. The restaurant is looking a bit tired. However, the food and service eas ok.

Very overrated. Massive pub so ur probably guaranteed to get a seat.the food was not the best. the service was the same as any other place and the staff were nice. We sat next to a fire oven where the pizzas are cooked on show so that was nice. very warm and cosy atmosphere. There is a kids menu aswell. Quite expensive. I recommend for birthdays or a night out.

Great atmosphere and great mood. Linda was a fantastic host and made our night special. She didn’t just provide great service she made us feel valued which reminded us why it’s our favourite restaurant.

The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was spot on. I would highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be going back again.

Slow and inattentive service Tasteless cold food

Hadn't visited for ages but glad to report the standards haven't slipped. Such a great setting and relaxing environment still and definitely an asset to the area. Not the cheapest place, especially the cocktails, but the quality is decent. I guess you're paying for the setting, service and experience, so it's worth it.

Don’t forget this is a Marstons pub so expect lower end pub food quality but dressed up a little to look better, and charged for as if it is high end.

We pre-booked the board room for a private family meal / party to celebrate my wife's birthday on Friday 2nd May Our party consisted of 5 adults and 5 children On arrival we were made very welcome by the duty manager who checked us in and then escorted us directly to the board room, which is ideal for a private party, especially if there are young children present, as it has such a relaxing feel to it and parents can relax knowing that the kids, can be free to wander around the room in a safe, secure environment There was also a good choice of music played through the sound system at just the right level so that it was easy to have conversation Lucy and the team were warm, friendly and attentive in making us welcome and comfortable, before taking our drinks order and then allowing us time to settle before returning to take our food order There was a good choice of food on both the main and kids menus. When the food was presented, it was served hot, fresh and all meals were served together, so there was no waiting around during service The food itself was as always hot, tasty and good value for money. The kids were very happy too, as Lucy and the team provided them with pencils and paper to help keep them entertained After our meal, we were able to go out into the outside area and have a drink in one of the heated booths while we awaited our taxis All in all it was a fab family experience Many thanks to Lucy and the team for making us feel so welcome We'll be back!

We came here to celebrate my sister's 16th birthday. The food was lovely and so were the staff.our server was Fay and she was lovely and polite. Would highly recommend this place. So overall it was a 5 star experience

We popped in for a lunch after seeing the ‘Best ‘Pie’ advert and glad we did! The pie was the best and the whole atmosphere of the place was great. Lovely areas to sit out in the sun too. Friendly service by Will who also mentioned using the quick service app for our 2nd round of drinks - very good and efficient. We’ll be back!

First time visiting The Manor and when we arrived it felt like there was a calming ambience and atmosphere.. The staff were friendly as soon as we entered the establishment, our waitress Phoebe was very helpful and accommodating, she ensured that we were enjoying our meal.. If we had a query about the menu and she was unable to answer she went to the kitchens to find out.. a very pleasant and cheerful member of staff.. we would definitely recommend a visit 😊😊😊

The Manor House has always been one of our favourite places to eat. Last night we tried the new Pie that was on the menu and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely place, and fantastic service. The waitress Emily was so lovely too.

We arrived much earlier than our reservation time but the bar staff member accommodated us and showed us to a table in the dining area which was very much appreciated. Food, drinks service, atmosphere and surroundings were all first class. Will definitely return soon.

Our waitress was lovely! Attentive, patient, helpful, always smiling with a friendly manner, engaging in just enough conversation without being intrusive. The food was hot, aesthetically well presented and well cooked - flavoursome, fresh and delicious.

We were warmly greeted and promptly shown to our table. The waitress, Catherine was very professional and obviously took pride in her work, nothing was too much trouble.

We hadn't been to the Manor since pre covid, we had a couple of visits where we experienced poor service although the food has always been great. We are so pleased we went back. The food was exceptional and the service second to none. We were assisted by at least 4 members of the team however out waitress was Alexandra and she was a breath of fresh air, friendly, efficient and incredibly polite regardless of being incredibly busy. We cannot wait until our next visit. Thank you so much for the wonderful meal and lovely evening. See you again soon 😊 Our meal 2 sticky chicken starters (lush) 1 seabass (WOW) 1 ribeye steak med (bloody lovely) Sticky toffee pudding (best hubby has had apparently) 1 cheesecake with sour cherry (my mouth was watering whilst I ate) So one week on and we returned for another meal and again came away thinking WOW! Katie was our waitress today, what a lovely lady with such a wonderful genuine smile. Fabulous food, absolutely delicious, we cannot fault a thing. An absolute pleasure to visit. Thank you again. Yet another exceptional meal (14.09.24) Excellent service from Emily, the Manor is always exceptional the team really do go above and beyond to make you welcome and to be helpful but never imposing. I've been coming hear for 30 years great atmosphere good food bit over priced but electric car charge point and large carpark. Beer is a bit pricey but I really enjoy it

I had pizza with goat cheese and rocket. It was very disappointing starting from the dough which it was extremely thin, very little cheese, and the rocket was virtually none-existant.. The pesto and onion chutney tasted shop bought. We haven't been for a while and this feels much worse than before. My husband had a supposedly medium rare steak (it wasn't) and the meat looked grey.

Fay was very lovely and attentive. We will be coming again.

This was our first visit for Sunday lunch for about 2 years, although we've been at other times of the week. As always the staff were excellent and very accommodating with a request to move seats (due to being very close to the front door as in a draft) There's always a good selection of drinks too. The food however was a bit disappointing. Plus, for what you get, I feel it's expensive. We had a 3 meat roast which was a good size and just under £20. The second dish was the 4oz fillet (2 medallions) with a mini beef pie. This is over £25. I asked for my steak to be rare but one was medium, the other well over and had no pink inside at all. However, it tasted ok so I didn't flag it to the waitress. The disappointing part of both meals was the total lack of seasoning. The vegetables were extremely bland and neither meal was particularly hot (except the mini pie which was volcanic hot!!) I never add salt at the table but I added it here to get a bit of flavour. I realise reduced salt consumption is recommended, but these vegetables which I think we're frozen veg really needed it. Its disappointing to have a meal out and feel this way. I didn't feel a complaint was warranted as we both ate our meals. But properly seasoned food and it all served hot would make a big difference.

Could we say the service supplied by Fay was very good and she helped sort a problem to try and arrange my wife’s blue light card app but there was a problem with the app,also the Sunday roast was great many thank Fay see you next time hopefully

Service lacking for a special birthday celebration

Visited with my family to celebrate a birthday. Food was OK, nothing special though and expensive for what it was. Service was good, staff were friendly, pleasant surroundings. Chairs were not comfortable. We won't be hurrying back.

I love the setting. It is very ambient and I feel calm there; like time stops for a short while which does me good. The menu is a simple one but in a good way. And the service was great. I'd like to come back soon.

Good service, little slow at the beginning but was fairly busy. Large pizza for child…loved it. Ordered steak and Malbec pie couldn’t really taste Malbec but asked for horseradish sauce to liven up the mash…..so much better. Kids had ice cream…..proper ice cream not Mr Whippy😋

We recently enjoyed fabulous food, a great atmosphere and excellent service from Pheobe, however, we have only given one star because the Manager failed in their duty to take responsibility with a customer care issue we had. We chose not to take the matter further at the time with Pheobe as she had been put in a difficult situation. Instead, we chose to email the Manager about our issue, to-date, over a week later, we have still not received a response. Poor customer service and would suggest Marstons need to address this. Update: We have since received a response.

We came here for mothers day. Food was lovely and decent value too. The staff were lovely too. Our only complaint was we were put on a table which was next to the door to the beer garden. It was a sunny day so some people, particularly kids, were outside, but it was also still March so not particularly warm. The door was in constant use, mostly one family who had quite a few kids with them going in and out and in and out, and not everyone was closing it after them, and some people were holding it open for a while as they spoke to people outside. This caused us to get quite cold while sat at our table, and it was also quite frustrating to have the door loudly banging shut every few minutes while we were trying to enjoy our meal. The staff did move us when we explained the issue, but I really don't think there should have been a table so close to the door, especially when the other tables were also so spread out. Alternatively someone could have explained to the family who were going in and out constantly that it was bothering us and perhaps encouraged them not to keep going in and out, to close the door more quietly, and to make sure it closed after them. Lovely meal but the issue with the door did irritate us quite a bit

We recently held my Dads Wake at The Manor House of Whittington and they did both us as a family and our Dad proud. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a venue to hold any form of celebration to go along and speak to Chris or Lucy. They were both amazing, lovely people who are very passionate about there jobs. From the initial point of contact it was obvious that are very focused on you the customer. Very accomadating to our ideas and requests to make our special occasion run snoothly. The food was lovely, the bar staff were great. What more can I say other than, if your looking for a venue for a special occasion please visit this place and speak to the wonderful team. I assure you you wont be disappointed. We came for an early Mother's Day lunch. I live up North and my sister lives in London, so we wanted somewhere close to my Mother. My Mom has been visiting The Whit since she was a teenager, but we hadn’t eaten there for years! We were SO pleased to see the brilliant gluten free options. All three of us are allergic and to have our own separate menu (instead of a whole filing system) was so refreshing. Katie was a fabulous waitress and helped to make the occasion really special. She was kind and welcoming. Nothing was a chore and she couldn’t have been more helpful! Thanks Katie!

Hired the function room for celebratory drinks for my daughter as she officially became a fully fledged Solicitor. The room was perfect for a small gathering of family and friends (45 people) the service was excellent and we ordered pizzas for a snack for everyone and they were delicious. I would definitely recommend. Cake was made y my daughter in law not the venue :-)
