The Manor House of Whittington in South Staffordshire

Love this place! It's beautiful inside and out, from the old bar area, to the dining area and to the outdoor seating, everything looks so inviting. The food has always been fantastic and the staff are always soo friendly and happy to help with anything you need. I would highly recommend this place for food at any time of the day or just for drinks.

Great pizzas at a good price. In my view all other dishes are over priced as are the drinks. Makes it an expensive evening.

Absolutely beautiful place, me and husband really enjoyed our evening. The food was fantastic cooked to perfection, the puddings was also fantastic. Such a romantic setting. I'm glad we booked a table as its gets full that's obviously because of how nice the place is. Thankyou again for making our date night perfect.

Staff very accommodating and excellent food.

Lovely place, great service, great atmosphere. We were a party of 6. The pies (X2) were good, the scampi (X3) were good. The only reason for the 4 star for food was the sea bass today was unfortunately not very good. The bass and prawns were over cooked and the skin on the bass was very charred and tasted a bit acrid. The potatoes were soggy from the sauce which really was the worst bit, really didn't compliment the dish at all. I think the sauce may have been changed from previous menus as other people in our group have had the bass previously and thought it was great, so I guess it was just a bad day for the bass!! The puds were outstanding!!!!!We'll definitely be back as it's a family favourite xx

What a lovely Sunday lunch we had! I dined with a friend visiting from abroad who wanted to experience a traditional Sunday roast – and it did not disappoint. The venue was charming, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, a fantastic experience—we left very happy! Maria

Lovely old pub, greatly improved of late. Early lunch so atmosphere impossible, but waitress Linda delightful.

Lucy looked after us very well. Attentive and friendly with a nice smile. I have to admit that the fish was excellent, probably the best fish I have had for a long time. My wife was very happy with her pizza. This is our favourite place to eat food always good and a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I brought my family to the Manor House last Sunday to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday and it was fantastic. We had a private room which was amazing, a wonderful setting for a small gathering and everybody loved it, my mom especially. The food was lovely and we were well looked after by Laura and Cat who were friendly and accommodating, seeing to our every need. Would definitely recommend this cozy, comfortable pub. Great food and great service 😊

What can I say absolutely an amazing experience. Friendly, welcoming staff creating an atmosphere where I will 100 percent be coming back. I must mention our server Lucy who was absolutely amazing, with a friendly face, amazing service and very efficient. I cannot believe how she can keep the standard of service with how busy it was. Food was amazing I would highly recommend the ribeye steak and the chocolate brownie with the blood orange ice cream. Just try it. Me and my partner finished our plates had a great time. And will be coming back. Thank you manor house.

Out Celebrating a birthday and the evening meal finished the day off the staff especially Catherine who was serving us was, she very polite and friendly and made sure everything we had everything we needed. Well done. We will be returning.

Lovely food. Really nice place to eat out. Helpful and pleasant staff. We had our starters free as we were waiting a while, hence a 4 star for service. Drinks are pricey. All in all, it was an enjoyable afternoon.

We had a lovely meal, i had steak pie and my husband had mixed grill and it was cooked perfectly. We were really surprised how nice it was. We will be coming back too. Plus we had 30% off our meal with a voucher.

Our waitress was very good, food was not quite as nice as expected, no meat in the pie, it was mainly gravy with a few strands of beef in it. Vegetables, the greens were hard especially the peas. Thought desserts were expensive and a pint of Neckoil at £7 + more like London prices! I'm glad that we used the 30% off mains offer but won't hurry back.

Fay was amazing, the food outstanding and the venue clean and not rowdy. Had a wonderful date night with the hubby. The entire evening was made so special by the fact the prices are quite reasonable with a good menu choice. Highly recommend you visit it was lovely.

When we arrived we were told our table was not ready even though we had booked for that time. The service was very slow indeed. We had to ask for drinks, and when served, they were incorrect. When the food eventually came out, it was cold. Overall, it was not an enjoyable experience.

Friendly welcoming service. The Sunset Heights Rose wine is stunning. Having visited before, we already knew the Camembert is well worth the £15. For mains we ordered the goats cheese pizza (substituted the peppers for olives which we thought was far superior) The sea bass which was lovely, and the chorizo mac and cheese which was the only downside to the mains. Considering it was supposed to be chorizo, there was minimal within it and only tiny pieces, otherwise was good. For desserts we had the lemon tart and the brownie sundae which were both lovely. Again, the only downside was that the clotted cream with the lemon tart was really claggy, as though it had been quenelled too early and left out. I think a double cream or something to cut through the zingy-ness would have been better. Despite all this, we thought the bill was very reasonable and really enjoyed ourselves, will definitely come again

Dined at the Manor a couple of weeks ago with a couple of friends on a Thursday night and was really impressed by the food. Tried to book back in within a couple of days but couldnt get a booking for the Sunday so booked for a week later to take the family. The food was lovely and great value for money, service was fantastic and we're already booking a return visit. Belly pork and the fish and chips were amazing.

So I would like to rectify a previous review I had submitted. After I had spoken with the manager Chris about a complaint I had to make about the service received. Chris has gone above and beyond to ensure this complaint has been rectified and I am very happy with how it’s been dealt with, and because of this feel very valued as a customer. Just to be clear my original complaint was nothing to do with the quality of food, which has always been of really good standard. So top marks for customer service to be given to the management of the Manor House specifically “Chris” who is a real asset to the Whittington and is a prime example in the qualities needed for management in hospitality

Have visited the Manor a few times over the years. Always found the food excellent, the cost reasonable and the waiting staff to be very friendly and efficient.

Nice evening out with friends, nice surroundings and tasty food

Such amazing food, the Sunday roast was top quality although the pork if im being very picky is a little dry, the gravy and apple sauce soon sorted that issue out. The only other minor inconvenience was trying to get the waiters attention to pay the bill as we were situated in a side room and the back we struggled to get a waiters attention. The ambiance is this place is great, good wide selection of lagers too!

Disappointed at 4.45 on a Sunday afternoon that they had run out of beef (which we both wanted) so the only roast options were turkey, pork, or a trio of meats where you could double up on turkey or pork. The food was OK, but standard chain pub fayre with the same menu offered at several other pubs in the area.

Everything was fantastic. The food, the venue and the staff. A very enjoyable experience.

Lovely place , we are lucky enough to be able to come and eat here sometimes every week and other times every fortnight ranging from different times through the day to evening . The staff are polite and very good at what they do . The food is always lovely, the atmosphere is always great . I would recommend this place to all .

Planned post Christmas get to -gether with good friends. Our table attendant Emily was friendly, courteous and very amenable and very attentive, an absolute pleasure. Very informative with menu and allergy advice. Will most definitely visit fir our bi annual get-together.

We felt this years dinner was not as good as last year. The turkey was very difficult to cut, it was tough. My husband had no choice with his beef so was too rare for him and our sprouts were undercooked. The service was pleasant though.

Very average pub food at above average prices. £18 for fish and chips, served without any real passion. Very deep fried chips, fish that was quite dry and what appeared to be a child's portion of peas. I was hoping for more. I certainly won't be returning or recommending.

My allergies were taken seriously and I enjoyed a delicious vegan roast dinner. The staff were very welcoming upon arrival, along with being helpful and friendly throughout my visit. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and festive which adds to the cosy Sunday roast vibes.😊 I look forward to another visit in the new year!

Visited for our annual family Christmas meal and we weren’t disappointed. Absolutely lovely food, everyone enjoyed it and couldn’t fault it. The service was also spot on, friendly and attentive, orders were taken swiftly and the food and drinks came quickly. We booked the private dining room and it was lovely to have our own space to properly catch up and we were able to bring the dogs too. All very lovely and highly recommended, we shall definitely book again ❤️
