Excellent Sunday lunch and a lovely drop off ale ☺️

Lovely food, especially the Steak and kidney pie. Beer (Hobgoblin Gold) not on handpull so suspect keg and was too cold. Otherwise tasted fine.

Great pub, fantastic Sunday Lunch, can't fault cobs and chips at weekday lunchtime. Top marks to the chef.

Typical English pub w comfort food, no new age pub grub w hoisin sauce n wasabe dressing. Steak n kidney pie was yummy. Dessert sponge w treacle was excellent n trifle too.

Continues to provide comfortable and pleasant surroundings. Staff very pleasant and meals well presented with ample choices. All in all a very pleasant place to spend time with friends and family.

Only serve chips or crusty cobs on Friday

Stopped for a drink en route during our travels up north and loved this pub. Picturesque location, friendly staff and friendly locals, toilets are clean, perfect for a quiet drink by the canal and a little stroll back and forth with the dog. Didn't eat so can't rate the food but what others had looked good!

Would give a minus if I could. Unfriendly, unclean and very unwelcoming. Owner looked like she'd been gardening all day and had just come out of the kitchen. Would not recommend and will never return.

Such a beautiful place right by the canal ducks and boats float by great ham cob and real homemade chips lovely staff toilets could be better... Plants on sale and great sunday lunches good quiz nights and charity tombola last Friday in the month.... Great coffee too. X

Absolutely lovely place to visit

Beautiful pub by the side of the canal in Penkrdige area. Service was a bit slow considering how quite the pub is. However staff were freidnly. Seems to be a regualrs pub though.

Nice quaint pub, friendly local pub with a beer garden.

Situated in a nice pleasant spot along the canal so decided to pop in with the family. After ordering our drinks we sat down, then a group of 5 to 6 men came in being loud and swearing. The bar staff seemed as if this was normal, these group of men started playing darts shouting insults at each other. We decided to drink up and leave, on the way out I decided to go to the toilet, after exiting the toilet making my way to the rear exit these men was all sniffing white powder from the tables. It’s a shame as seems such a lovely little pub.

Great for drinks after a walk down canel 🍸, nice log coal fire for those cold days and dog friendly. Mary is always welcoming to anybody, good pub

Been to The Cross Keys a couple of times. Always met by friendly staff and the atmosphere has been pleasant. A nice place to socialise, unwind and have a decent pint!

Visited the Cross Keys after walking the canal path from The Boat Inn. A nice pub with a big beer garden, friendly bar staff and a nice view out over the canal.

Hi, if you're after a sunday lunch you'll love it. We went today could'nt fault it to much for us ,but then said comes with pudding aswell ,well stuffed. Probably share next time.😁

Best Steak and Kidney pie I’ve had in years - partner was very happy too with his cold ham (large and thick) with egg and veggies. Each cost £9.95.

Passing through yet again and couldn’t pass on the Sunday lunch - absolutely scrumptious and is without doubt the best Sunday lunch we have had for quite a while - the vegetables so very tasty and the beef was tender and delicious and of course the staff are very welcoming and polite. Can’t praise this pub highly enough - if I was a local this would definitely be my watering hole of choice. Been again today and enjoyed our lunch - as usual - fat and full now. Lovely staff and very welcoming. Pubs decked out for Christmas and looks and feels very Christmasy Had a thoroughly enjoyable quick lunch on Friday (cheese and onion cobs with home made chips - scrumptious) so decided on Sunday lunch when our son visited with grandchildren. Can not fault the dinner and pudding - piping hot and absolutely delicious. Service and staff where very attentive and polite. Highly recommended- you will not be disappointed…

Wonder canalside pub welcoming hosts and there meals are lovely and homemade definitely recommend going to this pub for a meal they serve homemade chips wonderful

Very basic (tables outside we're tired and not very clean) but we just wanted 2 glasses of wine to sit in the sunshine with next to the canal...perfect.

We moored our narrow boat just down from the pub, we received a warm welcome. The pub food was well cooked with home made chips and friendly service. Nice and simple but enjoyable.

The staff are Terriable. The owner is a rude and disrespectful person too. The food doesn't isn't that great.

Looked on the Internet, +the menu looked appealing. When in the pub, there were none of the menu options. The food was OK,but mediocre.

Nice, traditional pub. The decor is definitely stuck in the 1980s, but it does give the pub some charm. We really enjoyed sitting outside alongside the canal, enjoying a drink in the sunshine.

A great canalside patio area and a nice cool pint of Hobgoblin Gold served by lovely staff. My only problem - and it's the same with all Marstons houses - is the lack of real ale choice. They desperately need to put some guest beers on. Apart from that the food I saw being served (a traditional Sunday lunch I think) looked and smelled divine.

I just love this traditional old village pub Mary and her staff couldn't do more to help.You can sit outside by the canal of sit it the evening sun in the beer garden.

Called in for a drink as we were walking the canal and really enjoyed a well kept ale while watching the boats.

We were passing on a narrow boat and noticed the king and queen + two corgis and a group of people waving at us. We decided to stop and had a lovely welcome and enjoyed a pint and sandwiches for lunch. Great service, nice food and beer. Thanks from the crew on Jericho 🏴‍☠️👍🙏

Was very disappointed! Not a good choice for families with kids! Was told (quite sharply) by staff to keep our child in his seat at all times, which is rather a difficult task for a toddler. Our son was stroking a dog and playing nicely with a young girl from another table when we got told that kids had to remain in their seats in this pub. I would of understood if the place was busy however there were only three tables occupied, including us.

Hasn't changed At ALL since about 1987, plaster slap on the white washed walls, dark brown fake beams, red velour seats, saloon doors as ornaments on the walls etc etc, the only reason it survives today must be down to the 35 years worth of savings by not doing anything to it, how it its still there defies logic

Great local pub with good real ale. Just popped in for a pint.

Been a few times now and lovely friendly staff and the chips are die for - home made and delicious. Highly recommended. All decked out for Christmas too.

Nice little pub on the banks of a canal. Plenty of outdoor space to spend time on a nice day watching the narrow boats sail by. Decent pint of ale !

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. We were only after a snack (cheese and onion cobs) and couldn’t resist the home made chips - both the cobs and the bowl of chips were absolutely delicious and were to die for. We enjoyed it that much we booked for the Sunday lunch also and was not disappointed- it was scrumptious.

Lovely traditional canal side pub

Went expecting food after w long day , advertised and saw menu snd was looking forward to a nice meal . No food . Chips and cobbs. I suggest this needs updating on the website . Misrepresentation ! Not offering the service it suggests .

Great pub, typically friendly midland welcome and plenty of outside tables to enjoy watching the canal boats wander past. Fab.

Shame no evening meals apart from cobs and chips, but they were pretty good! Beer kept nicely and staff friendly. Toilets clean.

The Cross Keys is a lovely warm, welcoming pub. I used to come here as a child with my family as we lived near-by. It hasn't changed much. It's lovely to sit out the front and watch the barges go by on the canal. They have a great size beer garden which is wonderful for families. All in all a fab traction pub.

Lovely outside seating area..cracking pint and nice food.. they were only doing cobs and chips but they were spot on 👍
