The Vine in South Staffordshire

Though prebooked in advance the seating was very cramped with insufficient space for our group after having to move from right infront of a stacked open fire that was dangerously hot and unguarded, The food was very average pub grub, mainly freezer to fryer with a bit of sauce or garnish... you know the sorrt of thing. The service was terrible. 90 minutes between ordering and mains being served, by which time the children had finished their meals (brought out much earlier) and were now fidgity. To cap it all, when the bill came they had the bare faced cheek toadd a £28 service charge. They didn't get it !

Beautifully decorated, warmly welcomed- and that when it ends The food was very poor. Tiny over priced portions, no side salad. Fish finger sandwich, hardly any filling and what was there was overcooked and crunchy with a meagre portion of chips. Such a shame as the staff are exceptionally good and the interior is beautiful .

Meal was disgusting, lunch menu; fish cakes, broccoli and new potatoes. Broccoli over cooked and cold, also were potatoes and fish cakes. I don’t see me going back soon.

Came for a meal with a few friends, as always the service and food was excellent. The staff are always polite, helpful and friendly. The fish and chips were well cooked. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Vine.

We’ve had some good meals here in recent months. However this time on a Sunday evening the food was disappointing. No choriso sausage or scotch egg appetiser so we had the platter (without chorizo sausage element, so we doubled up on chicken). Platter had only a garlic sauce and hummus- could have had some sweet chilli and a dressing for the salad that came with the pork. For mains we both had chicken and mushroom pie. Potatoes and veg were good but pastry overcooked and limited filling. Service was absolutely fine but they didn’t handle the high demand in the kitchen.

We looked at the menu online and liked what they had on offer. We also looked at booking a table online but as all lunchtime slots seemed to be free we didn't bother as we thought from that it would be quiet. So we were surprised at how busy it was when we arrived at around 1.15 on a Wednesday lunchtime. Fair play to the chap on reception as he got us sorted with a table within seconds. The food was delish and couldn't be faulted. The waitress was very pleasant and saw that we were well looked after. The food arrived without waiting too long. We will definitely go again.

First time of visiting the vine with my family and I was really impressed the staff staff were extremely attentive friendly and welcoming nothing was to much the food was excellent and I would recommend a visit to the pub and I will be returning

Lovely atmosphere and friendly service from Kazia. Fish pie was a nice mix with plenty of cheese in top but missing the bountiful amount of fish one would like.

We love visiting The Vine. It is always a pleasant experience. Stacy is such a helpful friendly waitress and nothing is too much trouble. Some great offers if you sign up to Vintage Inns.

My wife and I had a meal last night it was a very nice steak cooked well there was a mistake with the order wrong steaks came out but they did prepare what we originally ordered mistakes happen not to worry but there was no heating on in the pub nearly everyone was still wearing their coats including my self very disappointed with that not very good when you spend over £100 on a meal so we will go once more if there's no heating on we shall give it a miss.

Had a beautiful meal here and our server, Tom, was very patient and attended to our every need. Couldn't fault anything.

We had a delicious Sunday roast at the Vine pub. The portion was delightful, with such an assortment of vegetables accompanied with turkey, roast potatoes and a yorkshire pudding. Great waitress called Ashleigh served us who was helpful and very attentive. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Kaycee looked after us really well. She was very obliging and helpful. We were a party of 13 and everyone was very happy.

Great food and customer friendly service

First visit to the vine yesterday. The atmosphere and decor were pleasant. We were seated quite soon after we arrived and ordered a couple of drinks which came quickly. The Sunday lunch came about 15 minutes after ordering, which was no problem. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and well presented. The server, kaz, was delightful. We'll be back!

Have been here before and really enjoyed it, although always found it quite expensive. Didn't enjoy my food this time, ate it because I was starving. Had the fishcakes which were overcooked. My husband had the fish which was also overcooked. Food was overpriced for the quality and quantity.

This evening was the first time I have eaten at the Vine restaurant, I have to say the food was absolutely lovely, we were served by a lovely lady named Ashleigh, her customer service was excellent, she was really positive polite smiling happy, the experience here was amazing thank you to the chef, all the staff along with Ashleigh, we will certainly be back 👍

We have been to this restaurant many times now, and each time the food has been excellent, but the main reason we keep coming back is because of the outstanding service we consistently receive. Maree is knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and always friendly. She is a credit to the team and is a real asset to your restaurant. We booked a table for 9 for Sunday lunch. Tom served us, and provided really excellent service throughout. The food all came out together on piping hot plates, and was absolutely delicious. We had a mix of the trio Sunday lunch, Turkey, beef and pork belly and it was clean plates all around. Would highly recommend! Thanks Tom and all the staff at the Vine.

First time at The Vine today, food was amazing, great atmosphere. Customer service was also spot on. Kelly was friendly from the moment we walked through the door. We'll definitely be going back again.

Second time of eating in the vine and both times the food was delicious and will definitely re-visit. Only disappointment was a £9 desert , white chocolate bomb ..this was not good and wouldn't pay the normal price for a dessert of around £4.50 for it....it was very underwhelming.

Visited the Vine for a family meal and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't the first time we had been there and have had a wonderful time on each occasion. The food is excellent, the staff both serving at our table and at the bar were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend.

We had a brilliant Sunday lunch here. The staff were super friendly, great menu with lots of choice and the food and drinks were both amazing. Sunday lunch and pie of the day with a side of cauliflower cheese. The portions were really generous too. Lots of parking spaces, it’s always really clean and to top it off, it’s dog friendly too. We’ve eaten here lots and always had good food. Have also been just for drinks, can usually find a spot to sit even on busy nights when there’s live music on. It’s a brilliant village pub. Highly recommend!

Service friendly and happy to help. All dishes chosen were very tasty, pork belly was excellent slightly more vegetables would be appreciated. Needed one more vegetable to make the most of the delicious jus!!

From stepping in the door to leaving, everything was great. The food choice was extensive and even catered for our vegan friend. The quality was very high. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and I wish I could remember the name of the lady, who served us as she was amazing! We had a brilliant night

Absolutely delicious food, we went on Sunday. But my partner and I didn't have the Sunday lunch, we had the pie and the chicken parmigiana. Really hot and very tasty. The Sunday lunches looked very nice as well. The waitress was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Dropped in for a catch up with a friend and wasn't disappointed.*Please be aware* If you have the fish and chips - The fish is more commonly known as a whale due to this I couldn't eat the chips but the mushy peas were beautiful and a nice wedge of lemon. Absolutely lovely lady that served us, she was friendly and you could clearly see she was a people person - Sorry I forgot to take photos

Close to Bratch Locks. There are two pubs close together! I originally parked at wrong one! The Vine is further down. Nice pub with comfortable seating, I chose from the “Lunch” menu. After leaving I read other reviews where one said “register your car at reception to avoid a fine!” I never saw any signs and the staff never mentioned this! I will add details if I get a parking fine!!
