Family lunch. Great menu. Enormous portions! Even the child’s portions are very generous. Very pleasant staff and prompt service even though only one member doing it all! We will definitely be back. Great garden area too

What a fantastic experience at The Butchers Arms in Woolhope! The food is absolutely amazing – each dish is bursting with flavor and clearly made with the finest ingredients. You get brilliant value for money, which makes it even more enjoyable. This country pub has the perfect balance of traditional charm with a twist. It offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, but with food and service that go above and beyond the usual pub experience. The service was great too – friendly, efficient, and attentive without being overbearing. I highly recommend The Butchers Arms for anyone looking for a top-quality meal in a beautiful country setting. It’s a gem!

Food was nearly cold when it arrived, the beef was inedible, over priced on the menu in comparison to the website, very cramped and noisy, not a good experience at all, needless to say we won't be back.

Having booked a table for two for Sunday lunch via telephone, having decided based on their website price of £13.95 per head, imagine our surprise to learn upon arrival that the price is actually £17.45 per head! Therefore, I sent an email to the pub that very evening enquiring about the £3.50 per head price discrepancy. I received an unapologetic reply two days later (from the proprietor, I assume) to say that the price is clearly displayed on the menu and the website is not up to date. This is clearly a lie given that it was Sunday, 8th December, with turkey and stuffing on the menu! I cannot speak about the price of other items on the menu, but it makes me wonder what other mark-ups are involved at the expense of the unsuspecting public, for this is nothing more than false advertising and obviously a blatant rip-off. However, I can speak about the Sunday lunch and say that it was not particularly good, especially when each of us was handed a plate of lukewarm gravy and extremely tough meat that had the consistency of a wet chamois leather. I will also say that the cost was not worth the website price, let alone the excess menu price. Aside from which, the premises was cramped and rowdy, thus making it a very unpleasant dining out experience indeed. I am now writing this two weeks after the event, having allowed the establishment ample time to rectify their supposedly 'not up to date' menu (in order to prevent others from being fleeced as we were). Yet, there has been no effort to make amends and I am left with no alternative but to notify the public so as to let the buyer beware.

Sunday lunch as it should be -real food and all the trimmings. Plenty of choice other than roasts even at lunchtime on Sundays in this cosy welcoming ancient village pub. Roasts have plenty of meat, crispy Yorkshire puds and roasties, carrots, peas, red cabbage, broccoli, dauphinoise potatoes and even cauliflower cheese. No one could eat Pudding or a starter so I can’t comment on these but The Butchers Arms is hard to beat for consistent quality food and fantastic value. Highly recommended. Hard to go anywhere else.
