Food took ages to get to our table, and when it did the food was cold. I did speak to a member of staff asking how long it would be and she had a bad attitude with us.

Cannot recommend enough. Food was great, very reasonably priced, we tried some new menu items, the chicken shawarma flatbread was superb. Very child friendly too and our 20month old polished off the pasta and garlic bread. Great selection available for kids too so we will be back again! Also big thank you to the staff for saving our sons cutlery which we accidentally left behind. Thanks again and see you soon!

Lunch was served quickly by friendly efficient staff. A great place to meet up with friends with good food at very reasonable prices. A place we keep returning to and we have never been disappointed.

Excellent meal - Katsu chicken curry and Gammon, beautifully cooked. Lady barmaid and newly promoted team leader were lovely and very welcoming . If you’re staying nearby it’s a good stop .

We visited the Rose and Crown after a bit of stressful day. It’s v near mum’s house, we were hungry, tired and just needed some food and a drink. The two Andys were lovely, so welcoming and helpful. Food did the job, service with a smile and not an expensive meal. They made us feel so welcome. Thanks v much.

Not the usual service you'd expect from Greene King, went out for my birthday meal the kids food was ok, chicken was dry though, and the Sunday dinner was not of the quality in other local establishments. Don't normally write reviews but the attitude of the staff was abrupt and rude when asked about drinks that were ordered 50 minutes earlier, she was 'busy' and the next moment stood talking away to the regulars. Sorry but won't be returning and advise against anyone else returning either.

pensioner aged 75 this is the first time i have ever sent in a review concerning a pub meal, i called in at the rose and crown hereford i decided to order a senior citizens meal 2 course main plus sweet ,i ordered hunters chicken chips and salad, what turned up shocked me, i stared in disbelief the chicken piece was such a small size inside a small tin dish (on the plate) chips were a meagre amount around 9 and a tiny bit of salad, in short what i got was a childs meal (in fact a childs meal would have been bigger) when i complained i was told senior citizens meals are of a smaller portion. well there isnt any mention of that on the menu,whereas everyone knows childs meals are smaller in comparison after complaining i was offered more chips and the sweet was of the standard size ,but i should nt have had to complain in order to get extra food, so beware over 65s stay clear of senior citizens meals unless youre suffering from anorexia

The Rose & Crown is the best green king pub in Hereford by a mile. The food is incredible, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had was from here. The staff are so warm and welcoming and the drinks are also top notch. Highly recommend this place!

Went for lunch. The pub was clean and well presented, the staff were efficient and friendly and the ordering was quick and simple. The food was good, hot and arrived quickly. A pleasant experience, happy to return.

I absolutely love this pub, the staff are friendly and the food is amazing, I always get the katsu chicken curry and it tastes amazing 🤤 also they are kid friendly and my child and my friends child loves it here aswell. Can't wait to visit again soon for my birthday.

I don't go to this pub very often but it had a rough and tumble friendly environment. You could start a conversation with a stranger, and get a friendly reception, dare I say some banter back! You can drink a beer, or 4, by yourself and not be the centre of negative glances. You could even accidentally smile at someone, and unlike normal Hereford pubs, you won't be made to feel like you just took a poo on the carpet. Closest atmosphere I have found in Hereford to the Welsh.

Having been here before and had good service we went back for another football match viewing and had awful service. Firstly we’d pre booked and our table had been given to people who were just being served food, so we literally had to wait ages for our table. Then we had to ask like many others did too for the football to be put on the TV as it was showing cricket yet everyone came for the football. As we’d pre booked our table like many had, the manager came around asking for orders of burgers but like on our previous visit we got ignored and never asked. Felt like we weren’t good enough. Bar staff weren’t much help either. Waited 10mins at the bar to be served when it was quiet, staff looking at us but blatantly ignoring us. Really poor service from our visit. To the point we will not be going back. They’ve lost our custom due to their poor customer service!!

Didn't eat so can't rate food. Went there to watch the England game. Dont drink, on cans of guiness zero so cant really rate beer, mates had no complaints.No reason to mark them down.

The place is nice, the food was good and not overpriced. Is it no waiters service you order at the bar and they will bring it for you. But having said that they do come to check if your meals are all ok. Will come back again. Thank you.

Oh dear so disappointing. The fish and chips was like a child’s meal. Despite reserving there was a long wait to be served. The pub was also cold. Really needs a refurbishment it’s jaded and tired. Reminded me of an old 80s pub. Be careful of the offer available. Not worth it in my opinion. Never again.

Good came in for a match of pool and a coke and decided after to get food. The food is fairly priced and really nice i reccomenf the chicken, I was a bit unsure about the barbecue sauce because normally pub sauce taste terrible but it tasted so nice the barbecue sauce is one of the best i’ve had im glaf i ordered it now. But only thing is with the tortilla chip less guacamole and salsa would be good but it was still nice and ate it. Good for pool we went around 1:00 on the friday so it wasn’t too busy. People start coming in at around 3-4 when we were leaving.

Dropped in to the Rose and Crown during a walk with the kids. Incredible value for the children’s meals and amazingly accommodating staff (especially when my youngest spilt his milk). They were offering face painting over Easter too!

We visit most weeks for the quiz but sometimes choose to eat as well as we did this week. The food is exactly what you expect and pay for with this chain. I had the scampi and chocolate fudge cake. The service is always very friendly and the staff make an effort to ensure you feel welcome whilst also having a sense of humour. The building and interior really could do with some work doing, it's the main let down and it needs a refurbishment.

The meals and service were very good. Will return there for further meals in the near future. Well done.

Lovely place to go. Staff are always friendly and chatty to everyone regardless of how busy it is and still have never experienced a delay with drink or food. They are great with customers and the food is great too as well as very reasonable. Always feel welcome even with our puppy on toe , jumping in the door as he knows he will be welcomed by name and a smiling 🌝

Being of a certain age where we are difficult to buy for as we have most of what we need, we were given £50 Greene King vouchers for Christmas. Initially we were unsure about the gift, but it did make us start to go to the Rose & Crown pub in Hereford to spend the vouchers. We spent our £50 vouchers within a couple of weeks and have found not only a pub that serves great value food (my favourite is katsu chicken curry) but is a very warm friendly pub where every member of staff is an absolute star. The staff are genuinely pleased to serve you and they make you feel very welcome and valued. I now want for my family and friends to buy us Greene King vouchers of our birthdays and Christmas as it gives us a great excuse to get out of the house and have a lovely meal in a fantastic pub!

We had booked our Christmas dinner her for the whole family, none of us have ever been out for Christmas dinner ever so was the first for us and can honestly say we were absolutely 100 percent happy with everything! There was about 17 of us all together and the food and service was amazing. All of the staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. Nothing was to much trouble. Really happy with the whole experience and all of us said that we will book again next year for the Christmas lunch. Was very happy with everything. Thank you to all of the staff ☺️

Pre booked. Arrived, seated promptly and starters arrived. All good so far. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed that the main course took nearly an hour to arrive. The place did look fully booked so we were there at a very busy time. Luckily it was worth the wait. All 7 meals arrived correctly at the same time, all hot and everything was absolutely delicious. The puddings we're equally amazing. Definitely return.

Great food, service, and cider!

Standard chain pin experience. Food was "ok" and reasonably priced. You get what you're paying for. It would have been the standard 3 stars, however; Service and the range of real ales & cider (don't drink it but know it's an important factor for some) give it that xtra Star. Place does need a bit of a spruce up. They've obviously been trying but do the ceilings guys

We were staying in the area and decided to pop in for our evening meal. What a treat! From the warm and friendly lady who answered the phone informing us we could have a table, everything exceeded expectations. The pub was buzzing with people for drinks and food. Our waiter was Matthew who has all the qualities to be an excellent leader. He was so welcoming, super efficient and very happy to meet all our requests. If everyone had his work ethic there would be no recession! What an asset. The food arrived in super fast time and was very tasty. The only disappointment is that we are not local otherwise we would be regular customers. Huge thanks to Yaz and her wonderful team.

Me and my friend visited the other evening for dinner and was blown away by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff, a gentleman called Hayden served us and couldn’t have done more for me and my family while we were there, for a first time visit we were treated as if we were regulars, food and atmosphere was fantastic and we will definitely be visiting again soon

The pub has always been great, but now they have Hayden working there, it's even better. What a character he is, customer service skills are unmatched. Very attentive to the customers, shows an interest, which just makes the visits even more worth while. Look forward to visiting again.

Came in on a Saturday evening a few weeks back for a social gathering with my friends. Hayden seated us, and I must say he is an absolute pleasure. You can hear him having a laugh with the customers and creates a good atmosphere. His service is exceptional, and he really is an asset to the time, the only down side he doesn’t work full time! Our experience for dinner at the Rose and Crown in Hereford was excellent. We had the gammon meal and the pulled mushroom chili. Being from Canada and having tasted great chili's, I've had a few disappointments with several chili's that I've had other restaurant's. The chili at the Rose and Crown compared with the great ones in Canada. The gammon meal was very, very good and plentiful. We will definitely be back. Max, our server was friendly, courteous and efficient. The ambience was typical English pub and very warm and welcoming. Overall...a great time was had by all. Nothing negative to say!
