Nice location in the main street and opens early in the morning. I stopped in for Coffee and Cake, the service was good although only one person serving early morning. Nice atmosphere and good service

It was everything you expect from a Costa Coffee.

We called into Costa this morning and felt we would like to say how helpful and polite the staff were. We ordered coffee and was surprised when we were told after the order was taken that the drinks would be brought to the table, a very pleasant young lady brought the drinks over and chatted with us. On leaving the young man behind the counter said thank you and enjoy the rest of the day. We felt that the service was really friendly and deserved a review as people are always willing to complain but don't often give praise.

We had a lovely time here. It was our friend's birthday and they made his experience here extra special. Thank you in particular to Emily who served us and was very friendly and kind!

I go to this costa very often. Find staff excellent they know my drink as soon as I walk through the door. Staff always polite and chatty even when there really busy. I find that it's clean and staff can't do enough for you keep up the good work.

Since getting new manager (Adam) he has transformed the shop. Very pleasant experience now, lovely staff as well.

The employees here are so helpful and friendly even when they're rushed off their feet. They're what makes this particular Costa my go to place when I pop to Ross. Lovely Hazel latte and toastie. Clean toilet. Cosy. Nice.

This is the only time in my long life that I have been told “ sorry, we haven’t got a lid for the teapot” in any cafe I’ve been to! No effort was made to see if there might be a clean one in the behind the scenes wash up area! I ordered one tea and a hot chocolate and decided against any cake as it just did not look appetising. The whole place looked grim and depressingly dark. Wished we had gone to one of the other lovely cafes in Ross - and will do next time. I e not been to this Costa for a while and seeing the state of it reminded me why! Tables all needed clearing. The table we sat at was disgustingly sticky. Place needs a shake up!

The service and people serving were excellent. Very friendly and we had two of the best cappuccino’s we’ve ever had hot and well presented.

Does what it says on the tin, friendly staff and served really quickly. Bacon butty was delish 😋

Every time I go in the staff are so kind. Drinks are made quickly and always taste great. Food is also great. I accidentally left my purse at home which embarrassingly i realised after my drink had been made... all 3 members of staff were lovely and just said I could take a seat, enjoy my morning coffe and come up at the end to sort something out. I ened up sorting it all out but it was a lot less stressful thanks to the staff being so understanding. I been every day this week as its my absolute favourite place to grab a coffee and have some breakfast. I wouldn't go anywhere else. 10/10

How brilliant to finally have a great manager in this store. He’s made such a difference it seems already. This is back to being my regular coffee stop now!

Walked in this morning and five members of staff behind the counter chatting away to each other. Now don't get me wrong everyone has a quick chat in work now and again, but when a customer walks in and is trying desperately to get served and they still carry on chatting. Well you lost that sale and I won't be back again. Costa, a little advice if your willing would be to employ an older person with some customer service experience, instead of these young ones that come to work to get paid for chatting. Went up to Coffee 1 and the lady acknowledged me even though they were busy, then when she came to serve me she apologised for the wait. I complemented them on their professional service even before I'd bought anything. Definitely going back to Coffee 1 from now on. See thats how its done!

So disappointed with this shop. Met a friend for coffee at 4pm yesterday. To our surprise and disappointment costa was already closed!! Even though the time of closing on Saturday clearly states 5pm 🤨 Please can someone explain why?

The two girls working today were doing an absolutely incredible job, despite what appeared to be a very difficult morning. The girl on the till even delt with some incredibly rude customers with great dignity and professionalism. Big pats on the back all round 14/04 10.40am 😁

Not as good as it used to be, atmosphere very 😒. For some reason opening times keep changing which makes it very frustrating for locals that like to grab a coffee before they start work (makes this impossible now, dye to the later opening times).

We were allowed to more chairs and tables around to fit our needs and the food and drinks were excellent.

A bit like a tardis. Looks small from the outside however plenty of room inside. Staff were jolly, friendly and efficient. Overall very clean and tidy. Service great. Drinks nice and hot and toasted sandwiches quickly served to the table. Top marks for this little Costa.

I frequently visit coffee shops and even other Costa places, but I have never came across such lovely staff as here in Ross today. I cannot even express how friendly the girls at Costa were with my little toddler, even though we came just before closing time. They made us feel very welcome and the atmosphere was very encouraging and we will definitely be back soon.

I use Costas alot and this is one of the best, the coffee is consistently good unlike some others branches. Go out my way to go here as if paying for coffee should be good! Not had bad one yet and quick and pleasant.

Honestly where can you go wrong with Costa? Me and my girlfriend are in here at least once a week. Coffee is always great, the staff are always friendly and the shop is always clean. Can't fault

Cheap coffee lovely street view 👍

Coffee is extremely good, but the tea cakes are served without jam, the jam is charged as an extra. Staff work extremely hard to remember the relentless drink configurations and food orders at an incredible speed, that suits a manufacturing production line.

Lovely. Lush drinks (especially the hot chocolates) and lively toasties that they melt for you. I would feffinetly come again, overall I found it fantastic.

Good hot coffee! Only downside is the app says they have something which they don't have in the shop. Not too bad as the will substitute or refund you but a bit annoying.

Good to have them open again. Pleasant staff. Was well looked after. Shop clean & tidy. All in all a safe experience. I'm a happy customer.

Clean and friendly staff, observe the guidelines and you'll have a pleasent visit, it can get busy but well worth the wait. Just be aware people seem to like to congregate outside the door!

This was one of the best Costas I've been to and there have been quite a few. The building is fairly cramped but they have done a good job of screening off the counter and keeping customers safe with good precautions. The staff were very efficient and delivered service as rapidly as possible. Good coffee and food.

Good meeting place. Can be busy and machines too noisy for a person with tinnitis. Some vegan options but not that nice. Staff lovely.

I walked into the Ross-on-wye store and was wearing a mask and used the track and trace app. I approached the counter aware of distancing measures – I kept a minimum of 2m from the person in front of me and there were no other customers in that area of the store. The barista rudely and abruptly ordered me to stand back from the customer in front of me who was in excess of 2m away. I was about to step back (reluctantly due to her attitude), when she promptly followed up with “YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR DISTANCE”. At this point feeling embarrassed that I’d been told off, I felt compelled to stand up for myself by replying calmly, “I am in excess of 2m from any other person in this store”. The barista bellowed at me that Costa operate a 3m rule and that I was to stick to the stickers on the floor. I use this store regularly and have never been informed of this. Feeling humiliated that I had been shouted at in front of other customers, I informed the barista that I would find somewhere else to purchase my coffee. At this point, another barista shouted across, “GOOD, SEE YA!”. I carried on walking and purchased my coffee at the independent shop across the road. They were very welcoming and friendly. Their coffee was also very nice.

Terrible customer service by the young lady making the coffee the morning of the 29th of October around 8:30 she has the worst attitude towards customers Iv ever seen to shout at a customer for simply standing out of the way waiting for a coffee to go is simply not right she should be trained to have a better customer service than that but surely you shouldn’t need to be trained in how to treat people with respect as the pervious review states a young lady with attitude this clearly is not a first time attitude problem no matter what mode you in you don’t shout at customers

We visited today, there was a queue of about 10, not a problem. A young girl behind the counter serving, seemed to have a God complex in today's situation. She was shouting out that we wouldn't get served unless we scanned with the NHS app, I don't have it and my phone is an old one that doesn't scan and my husband does not own a mobile phone. She really upset a lady who couldn't do it, but eventually moaned and said OK I'll do it on the computer this once. And then proceeded in a very loud voice all the ladies private details including her phone number, the lady seemed tearful. Four people walked out, and so did we. The shop list six customers! How dare a young talk to people like that, what gives her the right. I will never enter that place again, disgusting behavior, I wish I had got her name!

The manager was quite bossy, insisted that the Costa tracking app must be used and the NHS system optional. Very strange. Other Costa's are happy with the NHS app.

Helpful staff and a very good cup of coffee

Situated on the Main Street this wasn’t a very big Costa....mainly due to distancing there weren’t many tables but there were a few vacant ones and we wore our masks, but noticed not many others did! The staff were friendly and the coffees were the usual Costa coffees, but the lemon tarts were very nice. We weren’t very happy with the youngsters standing at the table next to us (as there weren’t enough seats for them at the table) as it brought them too close to us, but staff didn’t do anything! There were only 2 toilets and one of those was out of order. The one in use was not particularly good...men had not been careful and water from the sink and hand drier was all over the floor! Apart from that it seemed clean enough.

Great service today, my first costa since lockdown, the lady who served me was polite and happy and made my day by giving me a freebie to boot !!

Very busy (good - but not good!) so nowhere to sit and had to have takeaway in the rain. Staff very friendly, and my coffee was fine, but flat white was more like a latte, apparently. Will put it down to Covid and return another day.

I have missed Costa during lockdown, so I am pleased they have reopened even with limited seating. I will not be walking around with a coffee any time soon.

As Costas go this is a pretty ok one. Same usual things you can get in all Costas. Lots of seating. Did feel a little crowded when it's busy. Nice and warm on a cold rainy day.

The staff was warm and welcoming. Our table was clean and tidy. The hot chocolate was excellent, and the coffee was hot and tasted good.

A little expensive but it's ok.

Great and lovely costa coffee in Ross on wye with friendly staff and plenty of seating if you want to enjoy a snack and/or coffee indoors. The coffee is good and the service excellent and you can get the usual snacks and food items here.

Staff charged for milk, was this for coffee! Money refunded dirty tables. Air conditioning blowing cold air on winters day. Not sitting with. Coat on. Switched unit off only to be told that it leaks by dark haired girl. Won't visit again.

I’ve never been a massive fan of Costa, if I wanted to spend far too much on tiny cakes, dull sandwiches and boring drinks I would move back to London.My wife likes it there so I like my wife and agreed to go.We arrived at about 2:30 on a Saturday and there were three staff on duty, I say three but that’s counting the skiver stood down one end of the shop chatting for about 15 minutes. Everything takes so long in places like this even though it’s just cups of coffees, hot chocolate and placing pre made sandwiches in hot ovens! I’m sure they are told to take a long time to convince us it’s better and to justify the price.To sum up, I waited far too long, our choice of sandwiches was on par with a Russian cafe from the 70’s and my hot chocolate tasted like a mug of hot milk wandered past someone burning chocolate in their back garden it was that week.I will probably go to a Costa again but only because I love my wife and not for any refreshment urge.

Staff quite disinterested and not at all cheerful or welcoming. Other cafes nearby offer far better service and nicer coffee at significantly lower prices.

The service is wonderful; quick, slick, pleasant and friendly staff who make good coffee and will happily warm up one of their yummy, moist and fruity, blueberry muffins for you.I confess that I go there for the wi-fi first, the goodies come second. I just wish their connection was faster but I hear that Ross-on-Wye is twinned with Brigadoon.... so I suppose the whole town has the same wish.

Thanks guys <3 • Came in 7 months later and requested that they play the Chinese national anthem, but was refused. Also not too happy about the lack of communist flags in the place. But you win some, you lose some :)

Dirty out the back area,not been swept for days dirty tables first thing in the morning,several flies buzzing around, can't blame dogs for causing this mess as they are banned from sitting outside now due to costa high hygiene standards!.My medium size coffee is now classed as a large but 15p dearer meant to have an extra shot for this price increase but tastes no difference.though it's my regular morning pit stop gone downhill would go elsewhere but nowhere open in town at 8am
