Best Roast Pork Bap in the whole of England. Firstly, yes the prices have gone up a touch but still very good value for money. The baps are filled to bursting point. The baguette is enough for two people easily. Cannot praise this little sandwich shop enough. Staff always friendly and pretty much remember your order. Cracking spot!! Get yourself down here!!

How about another five star review to add to the others? And very deserved too. For great traditional French cooking - go to Ludlow! Very high standard of cooking indeed in a cosy resto just off the town centre. Good selection of traditional French 'brasserie' type foods. The confit duck was very well cooked, all well presented and the onion soup was probably the best ever. No draught beer, bottle only if you want a beer, good selection of wines. Portions quite big so take a hearty appetite.

My husband and I booked this restaurant as it was one of the few restaurants with availability as it was valentine’s night. The reviews on TripAdvisor seemed positive enough but I was very very disappointed when presented with a steak that was not properly cooked - it was actually raw in the middle . I know I had asked for medium rare but there is a difference between medium rare and actually raw. It was tough and chewy and u asked for it to be redone. The steak was still tough and I struggled to not only cut it but also chewing it. The staff eventually offered me a steak knife , which should have been served with my steak to begin with, but I still struggled to cut through the meat as it was tough as boots. I think the steak was recooked in a microwave which toughened it or perhaps it was just poor quality steak . I gave up eating it and left most of it. The staff not only seemed unapologetic but refused to accept that it was tough and would not take it off the bill but after some argument took off the supplementary charge . It will be the last time we visit this eatery again for sure.

Cannot quite understand some previous reviews as they do not align with our experience. On both our visits the cakes and snacks were excellent, well accomplished cooking and tea and coffee were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Furniture is simple but is not poor condition and is sufficient for this establishment. Excellent little cafe with superb patisserie.

My wife, myself and a friend went to the Bakehouse for lunch. We were looking for a place that had vegan food and allowed dogs so this seemed to fit the bill. We were seated straightaway and our orders were taken. It wasn’t too long a wait until our orders came. My wife’s Thai Curry came and that looked good; my friend’s burger also fine. Next to come out was my Tikka, only it wasn’t a Tikka but another Thai. They apologised and said they would bring me the right meal as quickly as possible. Now I appreciate mistakes get made but this is point where you should provide some goodwill as 2 people are eating now whilst 1 person is sat watching, leaving everyone uncomfortable. A side of chips or something surely wasn’t too much to ask. Anyway, half way through everyone else’s meal, my order arrives, only again it isn’t a Tikki but a Chilli with the tortilla on the plate looking like it was just removed from the first wrong order. I didn’t notice immediately, but I did ask about the garlic bread that was meant to be part of the meal. The waitress just said “I don’t know”. Then, after she left, I noticed it was also the wrong meal. By this point, I’m getting quite frustrated as there really is no excuse for getting it wrong twice and I’m also really hungry. I take back and ask how many attempts do they need to bring me what I ordered. Another halfhearted apology saying they will rectify the situation. After the rest of the table has now finished their meals, the 3rd meal arrives. It is indeed a Tikka but with what again appears to be the same Tortilla from both the previous meals and no Garlic Bread. By this point I have had enough. They have gotten the meal wrong for the third time and don’t really seem to care so I refuse the meal and ask for the bill so I can go elsewhere and get something to eat. The waitress walks off without saying anything. More time passes and I end up having to call across to the bar as no one seems to have any inclination to bring me the bill. Some moments later the waitress comes and unceremoniously dumps it on the table, again saying nothing. I go up to the bar to pay the bill and the lady there does seem to be genuinely apologetic but, again no offer to compensate in any way for the awful experience. The waitress who served us then decides to double down on her appalling service by suggesting I’m the one at fault by being rude when I state that normally when a restaurant makes such a mistake, they would offer something complimentary whilst it’s being rectified. The other 2 meals, I was told, were actually quite but sadly, the whole experience was a complete fiasco which left us all feeling frustrated and annoyed.

We aren’t local to Ludlow, we visited the castle and saw this restaurant when we came out as it’s in a prime location. The food was ok the problem was the size of it. We ordered 2x cheese toasties and 2 cold drinks which came to nearly £21, but the size of the toasties were tiny. 80% of the plate was salad. Wouldn’t visit again sadly because of lack value for money

Random! Great for hot drinks. Food? While it looked lovely, the menu really didn’t fit what you’d expect. We were shown to one room that was so cramped. Menu was really not in keeping with what I felt the general public would want mid day during the week. It felt as though it was aiming for high end, but really not reaching it with the environment, and the staff while pleasant just added to the overall feeling of it being, I’m not sure how to put it, slightly off. I’ve visited before and it had a very different feel. I’m unsure, what it was, but I wouldn’t revisit. Drinks 100% revisit, food no.
