In the past this was one of my very favourite places to eat. Standards have fallen - a lot! My Cod cheek starter was very very good. My main of Coq au Vin was hugely over cooked - to the point where I would say it had been cooked 2 days earlier, and I was getting reheated leftovers. The bacon and shallots were bullet like.

Cannot quite understand some previous reviews as they do not align with our experience. On both our visits the cakes and snacks were excellent, well accomplished cooking and tea and coffee were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Furniture is simple but is not poor condition and is sufficient for this establishment. Excellent little cafe with superb patisserie.

We were a party of 7 who popped in for breakfast. Absolutely extortionist prices. 4 English breakfast and 4 coffees = £59. My order was scrambled egg or toast and an English breakfast with 2 coffees = £28!!! Most of the English breakfasts were uneaten, swimming in sloppy eggs and water from the mushrooms. No taste, poor quality. Very limited choices. No thank you never again!

We called in for lunch on a damp and miserable Wednesday. Our mood was totally lifted by our visit to Chapter 66 cafe in Ludlow Castle. The drinks were great and the food was totally delicious. We shall certainly visit here again soon.

I was staying in The Feathers across the road. £7.50 a pint there made me cross the road to The Bull. No one behind the bar. Eventually a customer offered to look for the barman who was chatting outside apparently. Another few minutes passed before I gave up and started to walk out. A random woman carrying a baby insistined on serving me while still holding the child but was rescued half way through pouring a Guinness by the barman. After 20 minutes the background music was replaced with a comedy sing-along accompanied by a ‘local’ whistling loudly and out of tune, I left.
