We stopped in for lunch this week and were greeted by a lovely waitress who made us feel very welcome. The staff here were excellent - really friendly, kind and helpful. The food was so reasonably priced and was so yummy - we had the loaded pork fries and the Brie and bacon sandwich and both were large portions for lunchtime. Excellent quality, cheap price and will be back!

Poor quality food, they use frozen burgers and chicken, very bland and very expensive, you would be better off going to the sandwich shop that sells pork and vegetable rolls etc down the road, £20 for 2 poor quality burgers, 1 southern fried piece of overcooked chicken, a small bit of pulled pork and in a bun, and chips, not value for money, and they need to put the customer first. Very disappointed ☹️

We visited yesterday for lunch. Fish and fries and Rack of Ribs. The food was delicious. The staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Would recommend a visit. x

Lovely bar and cafe located in a small courtyard a short distance from the market square. The courtyard you have to pass through has the feel of going back in time, complete with a very old Morris Minor parked outside. The cafe is very well decorated, mixing modern and old and very clean. Staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. Great coffee. Feels very comfortable, a place you want to visit to catch up with friends with a coffee in the day, or a few drinks and a meal in the evening.

We always have lunch here when we are visiting Ludlow. Food, drink and service are very good. Dog friendly downstairs but limited space available when busy.

Booked as a treat for my kids and I. Got there for 6pm. Ordered and because we were the first there to eat we were served quickly. Kids pizzas were nice and my burger was ok. Didnt taste homemade though. We then waited... And waited. And waited. 35 minutes after our table was cleared my son asked for the pudding menu.... We then waited another 15 minutes....NO ONE acknowledged us. Even though people cleared and served tables around us... No one asked if we wanted dessert. 50 minutes to be asked for dessert was ridiculous... I went down. Paid £51 . Complained that noone asked us for dessert and left. We then went to another pub for dessert where we were served quickly. Ridiculous. Got a sorry from the girl behind the bar and that was it. With two young children out for a treat I should not have to wait that long for dessert. Should have had a reduction in the bill but I guess a simple sorry will have to do. Wont be using again.

We arrived for lunch and were advised there was a 1/2 wait. Not a problem. We placed our order. An hour later, when we asked about our food were advised that there had been a technical hitch, and it would be another ten minutes. 20 minutes later, still no food, so we asked again. We're advised that the kitchen had lost the ticket but it wouldn't be much longer. Finally, one of our orders arrived. No sign of the rest of the order. Asked where it was.. met with a blank stare. We were then offered a 20% discount of the bill. We cancelled the two other orders and my daughter and I went to the lovely pizza place next door. When my daughters partner paid the bill he was advised that he had been given a 50% discount. The bill was £20, for a main course that cost £25 and two cokes and a beer! The staff were totally unbuttered by our experience, and no manager present. Worse experience ever!

Nice place. We sat outside, nice view in the little square. Food was OK, nothing special. Spoilt by 40 minute wait for a 'light bite' - chicken fajita wrap. At least let us know in advance if there is a delay.

Booked a table based on menu but chosen dish was not available. Burger was bland but very salty. Lasagne was tasteless. Pino grigio tasted like it was open a week ago and was warm and doom bar was off. Left having eaten about 1/3 of the meal. Staff friendly but clueless but clearly not discerning. No surprise there were tables available.

Great cafe & restaurant with licence. Good menu not overly complicated but perfectly adequate and balanced. All items very competitively priced. We had Jacket potato with chilli and beans and nachos with chilli and jalapeño. Freshly cooked and piping hot potato. Friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely be going back with friends and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Lovely place tucked away. Sausages were lovely on a bagel, good coffee.

Came here for breakfast. Advertised bagel with 'ludlow sausage' but quality was really poor - no better than what you would get at greggs. Hash browns were not very nice either. Disappointing given ludlows' reputation for food! Service was also pretty slow but staff were friendly. Toilets not great with one blocked and in another one the bin was overflowing.

Was shown to a table straight away. Lunch was served from 12 . We got there at 12.40 I asked for soup but it was sold out scotch egg sold out . Baked potato with tuna and a side of Brie wedges was what I ordered Child’s portion of sausage chips and beans £8 !! Waited 40mins for food , I had already had to ask for sugar and a refill of condiments because the table next doors condiments were also empty . Brie wedges were hard , Luke warm and missing the cheese ! Very small baked potato cut into 4 and a well made at the bottom with tuna . Hard and tasteless. We had to ask for cutlery after she said she was going to get it . A sandwich and small fries for hubby …. A man facing us ordered pasta dish , he said it was horrible and left it Cost almost £40 , the food was terrible . So bad trading standards should be told . I go to Ludlow quite often and always try and support local eateries and local produce . I can guarantee I won’t be wasting anymore of my hard earned money here again, that’s how bad it was

Waited at the door for 5 minutes before young girl told me there was no tables available. When I stated there is one free right next to me, she said “sit down then”. On ordering our food I asked if I could exchange my fries for 3 onion rings the uninterested, uninformative preoccupied waitress said “ yeah u can” on receiving my lunch all was delivered no fries and a portion of onion rings. Food was average I had ordered a fisherman’s platter, squid was overcooked, prawn skewer was dry and overcooked, scampi was ok and the whitebait was very very very dry so dry they snapped. Soup was nice but served with a cheap par baked roll, in my opinion very mediocre food very over priced rates. On receiving the bill I had been charged for the onion rings at £4.50 they were so greasy that the bowl had approx 3mm of oil at the bottom so onion rings were soggy. When I informed the waitress that I had exchanged fries for onion rings she said, “that’s not possible it’s a set meal and you need to pay for them”. I responded by saying I wasn’t paying for something I hadn’t had and that the previous waitress had agreed to the exchange. Waitress was rude, uninformed of others communication to me prior to ordering not and willing to listen, she kept pushing the bill in front of me saying you need to pay it, and your not leaving until you pay it. I asked to speak to the manager and she said “ I am the manager, and you are paying it”. How an earth the owner thinks it’s suitable to put a young untrained, unprofessional, rude and completely uninformed person in charge of their place is beyond me. The whole place was full of customers, and three separate groups came up to me to say how disgusting her communication and treatment was to me. I needed to change my sons nappy which I wish I hadn’t needed to do there but the toilets were filthy with used nappies over spilling a bin and the toilets clearly not being cleaned. On returning back from the toilets the so called manager shoved the visa machine under my face when I had my son in my arms, I told her I would sort when I had got my son ready to leave and put him in his pram, she walked off to behind the bar where I heard her talking rudely about me to other staff, not holding her role as manager, not that this surprised me. I checked the bill and she had removed the onion rings so paid the bill and left. Would I recommend this place, definitely not, food overcooked, greasy, overpriced and customer service is non existent. Give this place a wide birth, plenty of other eateries in Ludlow, better priced and welcoming.

The restaurant was open on Sunday evening but was very quiet. Food and drinks were good, largely pub food/burgers available. Service was good.

We visited Ludlow on a rainy day-after-boxing-day. Nowhere was open at 3:30pm except the Old Bakehouse, which with its lights and Christmas decorations looked cosy and inviting. However, we walked in and stood behind the “please wait to be seated sign” for 5 minutes, being completely ignored by the one member of bar staff, until we eventually went up and asked to seat ourselves. The service was incredibly slow and to be fair I don’t think this was the fault of the staff as there was only one person who appeared to be serving upstairs and downstairs and making cocktails, and they were very friendly when we did finally get served. Unfortunately, when I went up to pay, there was another person sitting at the bar (couldn’t tell if they were staff or customer but seemed to know the person behind the bar very well) who was extremely rude to me when i asked about the blue light discount, and who generally left a very sour taste in my mouth. Nice enough but wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

I have given this three stars as the actual food was amazing and the customer service was fine. However, we went on the Saturday night and we were the only ones in there. The staff sat us directly by the bar where we listened to them gossip all night. There was no music or atmosphere - we sat in silence and listened to them as you couldn't not. I think the manager should've taken more initiative and moved us to another seat away from them talking (the whole restaurant was empty). Or they could've been quiet whilst we ate (they were so loud). Overall i was not impressed which is a shame because the food was nice and it had potential.

Went for a light lunch. Lovely atmosphere, nice view of courtyard outside from our seats upstairs. Cakes particularly delicious. Very central, would recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Old Bake House, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience in every aspect. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The rustic decor and cozy lighting created the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. I can't recommend this Bar and Kitchen enough. It's a gem that excels in all aspects, from service to food, location, and vibes. I'll definitely be returning, and I hope to see , Millie, Stacey welcoming me back for another fantastic meal.

Looking for something to eat in Ludlow we spotted this lovely cobble stone alleyway. Then decided to check out this venu. It was quirky inside and out. Wasn't over crowded as tables were nicely spaced. I love the wall upstairs made from wine crates. Had a nice pint while waiting for our meal. Food presentation was amazing. My Texmex burger was really tasty and you could tell it was good quality. Thick meat patty and a nice burger stack. Came with onion rings and I ordered a side of fries. Would have liked plain fries to be included in price as it did bump up the bill a bit. Other members of our party had sharer loaded bacon fries. The pizza looked great too. It did feel like we waited quite a while for our food but all said it was worth it in the end. Would recommend this place.

Efficient service with decent, but not outstanding, food. Atmosphere OK while we were there, but voices from downstairs carried loudly to the upstairs tables. Not saying that it is not a place to visit, if you are after gourmet food, perhaps not one for you.

Very nice coffee but no real selection of cakes as advertised. 2 cakes available both similar. Disappointed. Fat empty cake belly!!

Terrible! Terrible service, terrible food and rude staff. The cocktails are awful and made by people who just throw some cheap ingredients in a glass and charge ridiculous prices. The food is a rip off poor version of the beefy boys in Shrewsbury. If you want to hear the life story of the staff then be my guest. Some of the cake left on the counter was even mouldy. Never again and would never recommend.

Tucked away off the end of the market square it is easy to miss this little gem. As a group of two couples, and having a evening meal booked for later on we just popped in for a light snack. There was only a couple of staff serving but we were very quickly given a table and subsequently served. Table etc was very clean.We found the Menu had plenty of options hot and cold but keeping it simple just had a sharing option of fries, cheeses and bacon bits. The young lady serving was very attentive and service was efficient and with a smile. Portions were ample and full of flavour. We did not go upstairs but by what we could see it looked modern and smart.

Service was generally poor, a lack of experience was evident and their understanding of licensing laws was shocking. People were being turned away when there were free tables, three tables were waiting over half an hour and each time the manageress told customers it would be five minutes! When we had been waiting 49 minutes we were then informed they had no mushy peas having already been told they had no ribs or mac and cheese. When the food finally showed up the “spicy” bean burger was not spicy and the onion rings were greasy! The manageress had no compunction about throwing her staff under the bus, blaming the waitress for not knowing the licensing laws when clearly she was less knowledgable. When customers came asking for their food she blamed the chef! How to motivate your team one on one. Toilets were dirty. Would not recommend to my worst enemy, unless they were wealthy and had £20 fit a burger and chips- rip off.

Visited here on a Saturday evening burgers were good and the chicken starter was good. Unfortunately the place lacks atmosphere. Tall tables to enjoy a meal on a Saturday evening not really my idea of a nice Saturday evening out. Okay for lunch . Staff friendly.

There were 9 of us plus 2 dogs that went for lunch, we found it from the Facebook page, which had lots of information on. It was easy to reserve a table, the food was delicious and we found the staff to be very polite even offering our dogs a fuss and some treats. Only minor thing is I felt the toilets could be improved but this really is a minor point and would still give it 5 stars for the food and service received.

Very disappointing. Went in for lunch at 2pm only to be told they didn't have any chicken and only 3 burgers left. The majority of their dishes are chicken based so I asked if they couldn't serve chicken at lunchtime did that mean they wouldn't be able to serve it that evening. The reply was that they were going to try and source some for then. I felt sorry for the young staff who were turning people away at 2.30pm saying no more walk ins. Definitely won't be going back and don't recommend.

It had a wide and varied menu, nice burgers and a delicious jacket potato. The service was great and the staff were all very helpful.

Breakfast, So we were in Ludlow on Sunday 6th August, See a sign at the top of the street and outside The Old Bakehouse adverting Breakfast served from 8am to 11.00am Sunday. We went in at 10.45, only to be told we stopped breakfast at 11.00am I replied but its 10.45, the reply was we have stopped taking orders, There was plenty of spare tables, so obviously they did not want our business. So around the corner we were welcomed at the Aragons Cafe, and what a lovely place, lovely Breakfast all Locally Sourced products, Polite and efficient staff

Hidden away down an alley but a good find. A varied lunch menu and a fair price for lunch. The staff were friendly and thought 20 minutes was a long wait food (it is not).

Lovely homemade burgers and loaded fries. I had a tex mex burger. It was busy as a concert was on at the castle but we felt we still had good service considering.

Visited tonight for a double birthday celebration. We were informed the restaurant was short staffed however wait times were fine, food was lovely with a wide selection of burger options (many veggie variations). Staff were really lovely too, will definitely come back.

Visited whilst staying in Ludlow and was not disappointed. Had great Calamari and baked potato tuna melt which were delicious. Bonus was that they had San Miguel and draught beer on tap! Worth a visit.

Lovely building. Very clean & picturesque interior. Good selection of drinks & food. Had a coffee with my friend. Fast friendly service, coffee was very nice, strong taste just as I like it. A big thanks to the staff there too, when I left I'd forgotten to pick up my shopping, when I went back half hour later, the staff members had kindly kept it safe for me & returned it. Thank you all. After wandering around Ludlow trying to find somewhere to eat (seems to be impossible as they are either full, most with no booking possible, or the kitchen is closed) we managed to get the last table at The Old Bakehouse but after waiting 25 minutes...

Had to wait 40 minutes for food to arrive. Food was lovely. It is expensive but we enjoyed it. Just the wait too long. Toilets needed cleaning and only one had toilet roll. Could be checked more often? Very polite, happy waitresses.

Visited on a Saturday and ordered 2 burgers (Spicy Southern & Minted Lamb). The portions were generous and flavours were great! Just one thing though, the burgers were a little too soggy for my liking - a few bites in, and a mixture of the sauces were dripping onto the plate and soaking through the buns.

Had yet another great take away tonight. The food was beautiful and boiling hot. Can’t recommend enough, we love sitting in and now had a fair few take aways and they are equally as good.
