Delicious place to stop for a croissant and a coffee/tea. The place gets very busy, so be prepared to wait or come back a bit later.

An impromptu visit to Ludlow market found me here at lunchtime recently, and I had a delicious quiche, with lots of filling and good pastry, and two imaginative salads - one cauliflower based, one a terrific celeriac remoulade. The coffee here is good, the shop is well-stocked and full of scrummy things, and the upstairs parlour, where I had my lunch, is small, but comfortable and quirky. They don't seem to draw attention to this upstairs room, but it is a godsend in this inclement weather, even though on a good day, sitting outside in the sunshine watching the world go by at the market is a very pleasant experience. All in all, a delightful little place, with good food and very pleasant staff.

Continuing our quest for a decent lunch, stopped at Harp Lane deli by chance. Choice of two different home made salads with lunch. Lunch choice, quiches, local ham, tartlets etc. Waitress very help about ingredients, my wife has a chilli allergy. Sat in the sun watching the busy local market.

While taking part in a mystery picnic a clue lead us to the Harp Lane Deli. Whilst there we decided to stop and have some tea and a dessert. The service was second to none, the lady who served us was wonderful to chat to and so friendly it really made our visit. I ordered earl grey tea and a Portuguese tart which was fresh out the oven. Food and tea were both wonderful we enjoyed sitting outside over looking the local produce market. Inside the deli was a wide range of food items to purchase, i took more desserts home with me as they were that nice. I would highly recommend this wonderful little deli to anyone.

Went for lunch today . Absolutely the worst lunch we’ve had in years. The Stilton tart was so stale, tasteless and dry is should have been thrown in the bin. The “ salad” which accompanied my awful tart consisted of a very vinegary carrot concoction and there was also a very mustardy thing what may have been grated turnip. The whole lot was disgusting. My partner had the same tart, and his was accompanied by a dollop of puy lentils plus a dollop of tasteless potatoes. These dishes cost £11.50 each! So in my opinion avoid this place . Highly over priced rubbish. Definitely not recommended.

We holiday in Shropshire annually and visit Ludlow frequently whilst there. Had coffee and cake at Harp Lane Deli previously and found it good. However last week we were terribly disappointed when having ordered coffee and a slice of cake, what we were served was coffee and half a slice of cake. Yes, that’s right, the cake at £4.50 a slice as display on the counter had very carefully been cut in half thus making it £9.00 per slice in real terms. Quite extraordinary.

A day in Ludlow and time for a light lunch. Wanting to avoid the staple diet of chips with everything, this looked attractive. We chose to sit inside and made our way up the slightly hazardous staircase to a delightful small upper room. The menu was not extensive but made up from a variety of local produce, imaginatively presented, and a full range of hot and cold drinks. There was plenty there to catch the eye and the appetite, including local pies and delightful salads. The sourdough and olive oil was perfect with a plate of very tasty olives. A super light lunch, pleasant staff and very welcoming.

Sprinkling of rain and no seating inside but it was warm enough to sit out in shirt sleeves, under an umbrella. Café is situated at one end of the market so good atmosphere and a great spot to watch the world go by. Lots of choice; sweet and savoury. One of my friends had a delicious pie, packed with pork. Two of us had Pastéis de nata, one with raspberry, I think it was raspberry! I've seen a review quibbling about the price of these but they are a world away from the supermarket version, the best I've tasted. The unfortunate problem for TA and more importantly for businesses, is that a single reviewer can bring a rating down due to the issues they have in life. JuliaJ374, nobody cares that you are a Vegan; just look at all the lovely food on display, buy some of it and enjoy it. We'll be back here soon for sure.

I popped in needing a light snack/sandwich after a hefty dog walk. Asked if they could make a vegan sandwich and the girl behind the counter said they don’t make sandwiches. Then I asked if they were able to cobble something vegan together, as I eyed all the delicious looking salads before me. Flatly told me they have nothing vegan. Very strange since I saw masses of bread, salad and hummus on display. Shame, as I’m local to the area and would have liked to frequent regularly. I do hope they address this in future as it’s really not hard to be accommodating!

I stepped out of the rain into Harp Lane Deli, in the heart of Ludlow, having admired it's pretty shop front. It's small inside, so there isn't much space for many people to mill about and browse their shelves of deli items. But the cramped space didn't bother me, as it's a little gem of a place, especially at Xmas when their decorations are up, and the seating bar is lined with little xmas puddings.I only had time for coffee, so I sat at the tiny bar at the window, while the staff carried on dealing with inventory issues. My double espresso macchiato had a rich dark crema, chocolatey notes, and the right amount of milk foam. I didn't detect any tinny bitter notes, and it was so good I didn't need sugar.I'd tried a few cafes in the vicinity, and I think this must be the best coffee in Ludlow. Can't wait to return and try the food!

Oddly, Ludlow does not offer a good coffee shop. Maybe I missed it, but after trying many places I couldn't find anywhere that seemed to offer that true, cared about, passionate coffee shop. Anyway, just visited this deli and saw they stocked coffee, couldn't see a roast date on the packets but it enticed me to buy anyway. Then when paying I saw they make coffee there, asked for an espresso to be told it was an espresso of the very beans I was buying. Bam, a great tasting and smelling espresso. Okay it might not be the best coffee shop in UK but if you're in Ludlow and you want an espresso that tastes like it should(!) then head to Harp Lane Deli. Great staff, great produce, and they care about what they do. I wish it was local to me!

Litrally the best vegan food in Oswestry and way surpasses anything else available in a vegan cafe in Oswestry. The food was beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing and the cocktails were beautiful too. Really hope the owner decides to run these evenings on a regular basis although once word gets around i imagine getting a table will be really difficult. Its great to see a vibrant young business do so well and honestly the co trading with Liar liar is such a brilliant idea. Two amazing businesses running side by side.
