What a brilliant set-up! Friendly staff, chefs working calmly in full view and epic food! We can’t recall a better breakfast.

Delightful location next to the old mill and river. Food was different and excellent. We all had the salmon with roast potatoes and flatbread for a filling and reasonably priced lunch. Nice presentation and a great combination of flavours- especially the gravadlax. Highly recommend

I came here with my family, residents of Ludlow, for the first time in August and WOW. We couldn’t believe we hadn’t come here sooner! We came here for breakfast after a walk through the town. We didn’t book, but one of the friendly waitresses kindly found us a table outside where we could be seated. Next time we will definitely book to ensure we can have a seat, as it is understandably an incredibly popular venue. The food was absolutely insane. We all had Full English Breakfasts and it is safe to say, it was the best we have ever had. The chorizo patty was phenomenal. Every time we have had a full english since this one, it has not compared in the slightest. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to come again.

Lovely cosy cafe cum restaurant on the banks of the river below the castle In Ludlow. There are small plates and big plates. We enjoyed the small plates which were most flavourful and just enough for a light lunch. Great cheesecake with Billy’s plums.

Popped into this cafe after enjoying a walk around Ludlow, it was very busy but managed to squeeze us in for coffee. We also has a cinnamon bun to share, it was delicious and would highly recommend one. We also saw they did lemon scones, we will be returning to here or the one in Shrewsbury to try those.

Was recently recommended here breakfast was really rather lovely . A rare find hidden by a magical weir in Ludlow. Absolute paradise if you are early enough and can hear the birds sing.

We had lunch as a group of 7 friends. What a great location overlooking the river. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and wholesome, and locally sourced with an option to have a glass of wine that matched the food! Service was a bit slow, but food worth waiting for! We visited Ludlow in March and had a late lunch here on a rainy day. The food was great and the service good. I particularly enjoyed the home made burger. The location is right on the river front and it must be beautiful to sit at the terrace on a sunny day.

Excellent food with real flavour, interesting menu. Came recommended and it did not disappoint us. Quite busy to being very busy but that is a good sign.

Booked a table for a birthday lunch. Ordered two small plates which were priced at £11 each. We were served and charged for 2 full mains at £22 and £24 each, making the total bill, with drinks, for lunch an incredible £65. The salmon main consisted of at least 50 percent rocket, 3-4 strips of salmon and various pickled things piled on, it felt like a meal made up from raiding jars and tins. The hake main was horrible, it comprised a square of fish with dried fish skin sitting a bowl of gelatinous 'chowder' punctuated by small cubes of beetroot, the whole thing was difficult to stomach and was bland and tasteless. To cap it off, despite informing the cafe that it was a birthday meal, no acknowledgement was made of this at all.

This was an amazing find. The cafe serves lots of great dishes and you can have small plates like tapas idea to share. The food was extremely tasty and very well presented. We had the best table right overlooking the weir. Absolutely the best food around. Can’t wait to return soon.

My husband and I had lunch. We ordered the pakhora as a small plate and then seven sides. We can't decide which dish was our favourite as we loved them all. Wonderful, wonderful flavours! Make sure you leave room for dessert as the ones we had were exceptional. We had the labneh cheesecake and chocolate and orange marmalade tart. My husband thinks it's the best dessert he's ever had. The drinks were good and the members of staff super helpful. I would 100% recommend it and would love to go back.

Having spotted this on trip advisor as a great location - it was ideal to walk down from our castle tour to the river weir which was dramatic in itself - we sat in the picnic area in the February sunshine and ordered from the takeaway hatch for lunch superb sausage brioche buns with a cold beer Speaking with Rueben one of the four sons he managed to get us a table booking for me and my wife in the early evening - so pleased we did ! This food was truly the best I've ever eaten. I ate the chicken shawarma and it was divine, I had the small plate as I'd already eaten a cooked breakfast that morning. The chicken was succulent and full of flavour, I never normally eat meat dishes when dining out but was so pleased I did this time . The chicken had some skin on that was just the right amount of crispness , the mint yogurt , harrissa and sliced pickles were piled high on the plate and looked amazing. My daughter chose the Scandi style smoked salmon which was a combination of her favourite foods . The Salmon was thickly cut and plentiful , the cavolo nero perfectly cooked and the bed of mustard yogurt and celeriac was an instant hit.There wasn't a scrap left on anyone's plate and we all left feeling beautifully satisfied full of clean healthy food. This food was such good value for money, top quality food, cooked to perfection and attentive and friendly staff. We were lucky to get a table at short notice so it's definitely best to book

We ordered takeaway from CSONs for 12 people just before closing time on a Friday evening. The staff were so patient and helpful and really accommodating of the dietary requirements. The order only took 10-15 minutes to prepare and the food (burgers, hot dogs, falafel, roast potatoes and other stuff I've forgotten) was delicious. We returned a couple of days later on Sunday for brunch, there was only 4 of us this time. We hadn't booked a table but they rearranged some tables and we were able to get a table outside. I would recommend booking if you want to be guaranteed a table as they were busy with people eating in and takeaway. It's a lovely spot, dog friendly, lovely varied menu (not too much choice which is a good thing) and fab food. The staff are great, especially Jas. Unfortunately we live too far away to visit regularly but if you want a relaxed atmosphere with lovely fresh food then I would highly recommend.

Birthday lunch for my wife. Picked CSONS based on reviews and were not disappointed. Excellent food with very polite and courteous service. Chicken shwarma was the standout dish but all food was good. Highly recommended, especially on a Monday lunchtime.

Although we hadn't booked we had a choice of tables and the restaurant soon filled up. We chose the vegi burgers and loved the accompaniments, roast potatoes and the carefully constructed coleslaw, topped with pomegranate seeds. To finish we both had the pumpkin pie which was delicious, attractive and very filling! Service was faultless; swift, helpful and informative. We will be back very soon!

Had a lovely lunch here. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Really clever and interesting menu with lots of excellent flavour combinations. Well executed and we left very satisfied! It's small (in winter), so book as the place was full and people were being turned away.

This is a great cafe on the green down near the river. Seek it out and you will find a dog-friendly place with a great vibe, views and delicious cinnamon buns! Enjoy!

We love this place - it started with a fabulous coffee - if you are in to specialist coffee rather than chain store coffee, then this is fabulous. We have had tasty breakfasts. And we also had lunch too. The explosion of taste is fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful. We visited on holiday - this year and last and the standards have not altered. Absolutely outstanding food! Fabulous service! Superb views and cosy vibrant ambience! We enjoyed our family lunch with this first experience at CSONS in Ludlow and are planning to drive the 2+ hours again as soon as possible to return. The best food we have eaten in years - full of amazing fresh flavours. We were a party of 5 and all selected different dishes, all of which left us in awe of the kitchen. We even chatted to our next door table and all remarked on how delicious the food was. Really hoping they keep doing exactly what they are doing so we can keep returning!

A lovely setting by the river; very pleasant staff, and lots of good looking food options (we only went for drinks). Needed a break after doing the hill one side of the river and about to climb up to the castle and market square.

We went for lunch today for the second time and it was fabulous. Tasty and delicious food and so good to be able to choose large or small portions. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the chef is amazing. We will definitely be back soon.

We wanted an intimate wedding venue reception which was less traditional with high quality food in picturesque surroundings. CSONs went out of their way to accommodate us. From the first meet they turned our dreams into reality, not just with fantastic food and service but also going out of their way to cater for children and mature adults who needed special dietary requirements. Their menu advice and guidance was invaluable. They decorated the room and made it into a magical setting that we and all our guests will long remember.
