Good place for just a coffee and cake or even a gin!

As a Coeliac I am always impressed when I find somewhere that serves gluten free cake. The raspberry and almond slice was delicious and the de-caf soya milk latte was creamy and frothy. Would definitely recommend this coffee shop.

Dropped in for a coffee while on flying visit to Ludlow. Had Regular Cappuccino and Carrot Cake Slice costing £5.80. Both good quality. Interesting place which doubles as a GIN shop with tasting cellar downstairs. Single unisex toilet in cellar which was fine.

A lovely cafe, right in the corner of the street. Very dog friendly. Staff were lovely. It’s a tranquil stop, great coffee. They have a great selection of gins for sale, beautiful bottles if you are looking for something unusual. I didn’t score on food simply because we didn’t have any! Cakes did look delicious though!

Undoubtedly having the best coffee in Ludlow, this centrally-situated dog-friendly cafe has a limited menu of cakes and snacks, with nothing savoury available, but it is nonetheless a lovely place to meet friends. It also has an amazing range of gin, and offers gin-tastings too I understand. The proprietor and staff are friendly and welcoming, and solo customers can feel relaxed and comfortable there. Heartily recommended.

After looking around the town for somewhere nice to have a coffee eventually decided on this place and pleased we did as lovely coffee and cakes, friendly staff too. Only downside for us was several dogs in there.

Lovely coffee, great oreo chocolate cake and really friendly owner. Enjoyed the view, the chat and the refreshments - definitely recommended! We visited twice in the same day we enjoyed it so much.

Great to be back at our favourite coffee shop in Ludlow. A warm welcome always awaits and our dog is always made welcome. Lots of choice on the menu and you can add LOVE to your drink. Well done to everyone who works there. Keep it up.

The one star is for the decent coffee which is the same as we use at home, but yet again unfriendly staff, the tables not cleaned, and this strange thing where they bring your order over and then also ask you to pay with their machine at the ready ? not the best way to relax and enjoy your coffee ? have they had a lot of people run off without paying perhaps ? strange never get this anywhere else !

Drizzly Sunday afternoon and time to kill made so much better for Taste in Ludlow. The large flat white came with a cute health warning due to it's 4 shots, what a delight it was a very large flat white perfect temperature, Milk just right and a good string taste of the espresso. Highly recommended.

A busy coffee shop - which serves really tasty coffee. The staff are really friendly and helpful. There was also a great range of Ludlow gins on offer. What a fab place - loved it!

Well it’s the normal Ludlow thing, flogging the Gin thing to death . Overpriced and not worth the visit. The older member of staff was on his mobile ignoring us for some time. The young girl came to our rescue she was pleasant and made a good coffee. Better places to go than here…..

Delicious coffee, mocha and iced coffee!

This is a great coffee shop and one of my favourites by far to visit. I always make this my go to coffee shop & would recommend. However, sometimes coffee lacks consistency and on a Saturday the coffee is always outstanding made by the barista chap. But at other times particularly on a Sunday it can be very milky and disappointing. If it could always be like on a Saturday this would be great 👌 Illy is an outstanding coffee and I love Taste, but consistency is key.

Always visit with my nan & sister once a week for coffee & cake. Lovely atmosphere and staff are always very friendly. Definitely recommend

What a disappointment. The staff are rude and dismissive. Turned customers away because they were ‘so busy’ when it was calm and quiet. Had to clear my own table because the person who brought my coffee over walked off with an empty tray. Coffee cups also have dreadful little handles which make them very uncomfortable to hold without burning your hand. Could do with some quiet background music to cover the banging from the coffee making and the staff sniping at one another. Won’t bother again. What a shame.

I can only assume we deeply offended the staff member somehow because we received the most spectacularly rude service. This was a shame as the setting is lovely and the coffee was perfectly fine, the staff member however was breathtakingly, almost parodically, rude throughout and made us feel that she really didn't want our custom in any way

The staff were unhelpful, the tea was OK but the cake was indifferent. On visiting the toilets I was horrified at the state and left without using. I would not return.

Lovely this is now our fav place to come its nice and clean and friendly for a hot chocolate and cake for my daughter and a coffee for me, it would be great if you could offer some toasties, sandwiches too, we love it here my daughter asks to visit every time we come to Ludlow.

Called in for coffee and cake whilst visiting Ludlow, wish we hadnt got to drive as would love to have sampled some of the vast array of gins they had on display. Cakes were beautiful, staff were friendly, cost was reasonable. Would highly reccomend.

I originally wrote a review in December 2016 for this establisment and have visited on a few occassions since- Naturally Covid got in the way so haven't been for a while- recetly popped in for a coffee and they still stock my favorite brand of coffee and still know how to make it- The service was excellent -- Its a tribute to this establishment that it has stood the test of time and is delivering consitently good coffee with a nice smile and great service. Worth a visit

We visited Taste over the Easter break with friends, we decided to sample the various gins that were available, the knowledge from the owner Andy was unprecedented, he knew so much about the characteristics of the gins and the tonics and paired them together to maximise the taste, we learnt so much from him, there are so many gins and tonics on the market and have become run of the mill but Andy knew exactly how to serve and pair up unusual gins to bring out the exotic flavours !!! The following day we returned for coffee and cakes, again the quality of both were fabulous, terrific service, clean tables and lovely polite staff, if your in Ludlow you must visit for Gin and Coffee !!! Don’t miss it !!

Wow, amazing coffee and even more amazing gin recommendations. My daughter and I visited here within 15 minutes of arriving in Ludlow as she was desperate for a coffee! We had our spaniel with us so we picked it because it was obviously dog friendly. What a great accidental find. We had excellent coffee and tea which while drinking, we started to look at the gins on display. We then chatted to the owner who was obviously a fellow gin lover and gave us excellent advice on what gin and accompanying tonics to buy. We would highly recommend for great value, quality of food, drink, service and most importantly gin advice. We will be back!

Quite simply the best coffee in the area and the staff are very friendly. Illy coffee has a taste of its own and it’s always spot on here. Better still the cafe is dog friendly. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

This is simply the best place in Ludlow for coffee. They use Illy coffee - freshly brewed and always piping hot. It's also a lovely space, nice and light with a good flow of people coming and going.

Waited a bit to place our order - it was busy. Despite being willing to pay the owner waived payment because of the oversight. Nice to visit a place which values its customers. This cafe was recommended by a clothes shop (Oska) around the corner, so one good turn……..we recommend the espresso chocolate brownie. It’s top notch.

My partner and I love Taste! We come almost everyday and try their various sweets. The coffee is extremely high quality. I've also tried their tea, which was just as great. The inside sitting area has such a warm, welcoming environment.

We called in for toasted teacakes and drinks. We mentioned that we were going to the food festival and the lady that served us gave us the name of the guy doing the gin presentation which we hoped to attend. Long story short, the gin tasting should have advised to buy tickets in advance, it only said pick them up in advance so we were gutted but my sister name dropped thanks to the help of the lady serving us and we got to attend the gin tasting, so it is always good to talk to your waitress! She was pleasant and helpful and the toast/drinks were lovely, shame we didn't stay to taste the cakes which looked lovely.

We were welcomed in warmly even though they were close to closing. Our young sprocker Milo was immediately made a fuss of and plied with treats. Would thoroughly recommend.

Well as i have to give 1 star to write a review... but i actually had nothing to review. We walked in and said we wanted to sit in, one of the servers advised us it was table service GREAT!... We headed outside and within two minutes the same woman came outsite. First she served a couple who had just turned up, fair enough but she did ask another couple who had been there a while another question and walked back in. We were a bit like "oh ok maybe just giving us a minute to have a think" Another 3 minutes later another local couple sat down with their groceries and a different server came out straight away and took their order...not even a glance over to us or to ask if we had been served. Another 2 minutes and the first woman came back to tell a couple that a table inisde was now free. In all we waited around 7 to 8 minutes with no service and yet other tables right right next to us being served. We headed the costa just 30 seconds from here to what was quick service, friendly staff and good coffee and cake.

Great location, looks like it would be a perfect cafe. However, they don't cater to what a customer orders. I asked if they did iced coffee, and was told they could. Ordered it black, with no milk, and they brought me one with milk and said they could remake it if I needed it. Why not make it the way it was requested at the start?
