Popped in for a bite to eat mid afternoon and was very busy for a mid-week afternoon. Friendly staff and a very varied menu to suit all tastes and appetites. Mr W had the welsh rarebit with crispy bacon, huge portion and very tasty while I had a very nice warm cheese scone with the intention of finishing off with a piece of one of the delicious looking cakes. Unfortunately I had to help Mr W to finish his rarebit and sadly no longer had any room left for cake! Liked how the tea was loose leaf in teapots and served with bone china cups and saucers, just tastes so much better. Enjoyed our visit very much and definitely recommend!

This restaurant was popular, but, being quite small, has CLOSED at this spot, but HAS MOVED to FORE STREET about 300 yards to the East, near the East Okement River, and its name has changed to " The Allotment ", as it uses food all supplied locally. I highly recommend it for a smiley welcome & good wholesome food. Now sells jams & preserves.

Nothing to fault. Staff were lovely and so was the coffee. Prices are very reasonable. Clothes to browse too. Very clean. Will definitely return if in the area.

Second time I have stopped here on cycle tours. Perfect for the hungry cyclist ! Large selection of hot and cold food, particularly good for hot breakfast and brunch options. I had porridge which was an enormous serving, see photo! Friendly service You can leave the bike opposite across street to keep an eye on it Has toilets

Came here with my mother for tapas , the venue has lovely outdoor seating in the sunshine. The staff were friendly and welcoming and explained the menu to us. We got two of the 3 for £15 deal, food arrived promptly and was delicious , the steak being our favourite. Would recommend and will be returning again soon!

Sorry no photo, pasty too good to waste time on that. I have lived in Cornwall for over 20 years and tried almost every pasty on offer. Usually go for one with a bit more pepper in it like the ones from Hayle. But these have a better balanced flavour and really quality meat content. Lovely.

What an amazing place, over the last year I've tried all the cafes in tavistock and this is by far the best. Home cooked food at its best, the quiches and cakes are to die for. They use local ingredients to support other local businesses which is really important to me. If you're taking the kids then the grazing platters are brilliant. The coffee is fantastic, and you get a proper sized cup. The little things really add up here and it's cracking value for the taste and quality of the food.

Amazing!!!! Food and service is always 5*. We are regular customers and wouldn’t go anywhere else for dinner. All reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere with super helpful and friendly staff.

Lovely food and attentive staff. Nice old pub with good local feel but welcoming to holidaymakers also. Food was good quality and a nice menu choice. They also did us a children's portion of and adult meal which was appreciated as it's nice for children to be able to try something different to the usual children's menu options.
