Clean and nicely presented cafe in the centre of the town. There is no parking outside, the nearest being a few hundred metres away. It would not be disabled friendly due to the steps on entry. There is no outdoor seating. The inside is spacious, clean and well looked after. All of the staff we encountered were polite friendly and attentive. The menu is quite extensive, offering a great selection of sandwiches, hot dishes, cakes and drinks. As for the food, it was nothing short of excellent. It was very well presented, hot, well flavoured, very tasty and a seriously good plateful. We could not fault the food we were served at all. Very good value for money, six of us having food, drinks, coffee and cakes for around £70. Highly recommended if you are in the Hatherleigh area.

Good for a cycle stop.. there's a cycle rack opposite side of the street.

An absolute gem of a place for breakfast. Fabulous menu, all freshly cooked and excellent value. We love it!

Lovely vegan biscoff tiffin, and the had choices of vegan sausage rolls and pasties. Great for a pit stop whilst on the Devon Coast to coast cycle- we sat in the sun of the market square to eat

If you’re ever in Hatherleigh, and you fancy something to eat this is definitely the place to go. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the menu is very comprehensive and cooked to order. The cafe is Very clean and tidy, I would say it’s a jewel in the Crown of Cafes in Hatherleigh, very well worth a visit five star.

As well as being a wonderful cafe with a massive array of home made goods, Hannah also makes the most incredible birthday cakes! She worked with me to design and make my husband’s 50th carp themed cake - which really was genius. And it was delicious too. Highly recommended!

There’s a lovely feel to the One Market Street cafe. Very welcoming and personal. The food was delicious with generous portions and good prices. I suspect we’ll be back there for breakfast for the rest of our holiday!

I went there to visit with my only on e problem, they dont seem to cater for people in wheelchairs as it stairs so just went away, this is illegal as a business must cater for disabled people with wheelchairs and i hope that if they read this they make an effect to make it accessable to disabled people by providing a ramp or a way for some way for wheelchair user to access the establishment

A lovely little cafe with quite an extensive menu. Unfortunately, I arrived at lunchtime and the service was very slow but the food was great. Parking was also a little troublesome.

Lovely cafe just on the edge of town with really friendly and helpful staff. Large selection of fresh made cakes that seemingly grow in size every time you see them. Everything is freshly made to order using really tasty ingredients. Will be coming back again for sure for one of their takeaway afternoon or cream teas. Bonus was we only popped in for a takeaway breakfast (everything is available to takeaway) but as they were dog friendly we were able to sit in and stay longer.

Everything was as good as it could be! Will definitely recommend it to our guests!

Pleasant interior with niknak furniture that makes this an elegant cafe. Really pleasant and welcoming staff. The owner makes its own cakes and they are to die for well worth the price and wait for. The fryups are really nice even if we had to wait 45mins but to be fair it was well worth the wait Milk shakes are really good as well according to my son

Stopped off on the way to the North of dartmoor for a spot of brunch. Myself and my partner both had the French toast with bacon and maple syrup, with a milkshake each. The toast was exquisite and the milkshakes were both seriously tasty. Well worth a visit, even if this is a little out of your way!

What a very friendly and efficient place to get some really nice tasting and very good priced food. It is very clean and the people who work there are very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this place. I was there at around 12.30 1.30 and although there was q little queue for take away they coped very well, it cleared in no time at all. All this while waiting on the tables. I am very impressed with this place, this was my first visit but I intend to go there again soon.

Stopped for breakfast and coffee with my husband and baby. Very clean, tables well spaced for social distancing, track and trace details taken and staff clean down each table and chairs after each customer throughly. Highly recommend this cafe, you will not be disappointed!!

We visited on market day but it was really quiet. They were offering the Eat Out 50% Off deal but the bill for three of us was much higher than the food warranted.Baps and baguette were sizeable but dry (dry rolls, cheap sausagemeat with sausage skins tougher than kevlar!). The Eggs Royale however were fantastic."Fancy lemonade" was in fact a small retail bottle and not fancy, expected something local and fancy! Coffee refills included. Huge range of teas.Service was very friendly, social distancing poor but track/trace details were taken.Wifi is available and lots of Trip Advisor logos on display.Would we visit again - at nearly £35 for three breakfasts it isn't great value for money but I suspect in Hatherleigh they have a captive market.We didn't try the cakes but they did look good.

My mother does not have wifi in her house in Hatherleigh - which aisgreat - otherwise I would not have found the One Market Street Cafe. Had a couple of breakfasts there as well as a lunch with my mother. Service was friendly - and the food fantastic and well priced. My big breakfast (2 of everything) kept me going the whole day and our lunch of eggs benedict was really done well.. Everything is cooked to order and lots of it is home made. The cakes are amazing so don't eat too much savoury food if you are there for lunch! Hugely recommended as a stop off breakfast through to the afternoon tea. Oh - and the wifi is fast too.

We stopped off here Galway around the Ruby Trail. Really friendly staff. Excellent coffees and the toasted teacakes were delicious too, just the boost for the rest of our walk

On a mini break/staycation in Devon in August 2019, I visited One Market Street Cafe, located in the quaint village of Hatherleigh. Approximately 20 mins on from Okehampton, and only 45 minutes away from Exeter, this super cute cafe is perfect for brunch, lunch, a sweet treat or a pick me up coffee. I met up with a group of university friends, and it was the perfect setting to pick up exactly where we left off. Having had a large fry up elsewhere, I fancied something slightly lighter (whilst still satisfying my sweet tooth), I went for a cream tea with a fruited scone (recommended by the lovely front of house chap, Tom), followed by a delicious slice of Rolo cheesecake. Nobody was having my last rolo! This was washed down with Darjeeling tea from the large tea menu - I never seen such a great tea menu before! I even bought a packet to take home from the local produce selection near to the till. All of the food is made using locally sourced ingredients, with a wide menu lovingly curated by Hannah, the head chef and chief incredible cake baker. I wish I had had more time to try some more of the baked goods, albeit my waistline is probably thankful I didn't! A real gem in a lovely part of the world, with a friendly, community atmosphere from the minute you walk in. Hoping to be back sooner rather than later!

I have been coming to the cafe for the last 18 months when working in the area. I haven't left a review before but decided it was high time I did!Like most of the reviewers, I have enjoyed both the food and ambiance here - the staff are friendly and obviously well liked by the locals! I have spoken to many whilst I have eaten here as I am almost always alone. Both the chap front of house and the ladies in the kitchen/waiting the tables are very chatty and make you feel at home. The food is excellent and all home cooked. I have been here when it was super busy (Tuesdays and Friday seem to be those day - I believe there is a market on those days) and on others when its been quiet.It can be very busy at lunchtimes (always a good sign!) so you may have to share a table or wait a little while (you can always walk up the the lovely church or pop next door for a swift half!) but make sure you go back to eat and you will not be disappointed. On occasion I have had a to wait a while for food - maybe 20 minutes or so - but when it comes it is served with an apology and always worth the wait.Recommend the breakfast (the large is a gut-buster so beware!) and the egg in the hole - but leave enough room for the wonderful cakes which are made on the premises. If you don't have room, get one as a take out!Its a must visit place for me - I detour to take in a stop here.(Very, very surprised at the one * review for this place - I wonder if it was the same cafe?)

Good service, well cooked food at reasonable prices, all you could ask for. And as for the choice of cakes and brownies - well just too tempting.
