Popped in for Lunch whilst visiting Dartmouth and glad we found this Bistro The food was excellent and reasonably priced I had mixed seafood and it was lovely very nice place and pretty busy & we offered to shared our table with a couple of strangers and soon good chatting and having a great time, The owner appreciated us sharing the table as brought in a couple more customers who would otherwise have gone elsewhere, nice if others do the same - you never know you may get on and meet some lovely people will certainly return here the next time we go to Dartmouth

3 of us wanted a light impromptu lunch today. The food was nice . The welcome was non existent verging on hostile and any questions to the waitress were answered almost with disdain. This made for a horrible atmosphere and I couldn’t wait to leave . A shame as I remembered it as a lovely cafe .

We had a great breakfast. We all had baps - sausage, bacon, egg and bacon and ultimate bap with everything in it, plus proper tea no bags, cappucinos and latte. Baps were very tasty with plenty of fillings and drinks perfect. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Perfect for our journey home. We will be back.

Been twice in two days. Was so impressed the first time that I went back the next day with my husband for lunch despite the number of cafes and coffee shops in town. Great coffee and hot drinks menu. The bacon sandwiches are freshly cooked, served piping hot in local sourdough. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Couldn’t find fault with anything we ordered.

We visit The Flavell for coffee and cake quite often, and are always happy with the service and food. On this particular day we had lunch, soup which was a bit thin and bread, but quite nice. While I was drinking a coffee after my lunch, I looked towards the preparing area and to my surprise watched one of the ladies making a sandwich, she picked up the filling with her bare hands plus the salad and put it together between the slices of bread. While you might do this at home, I would have thought preparing food for customers would necessitate wearing some sort of hand covering. This has put me off eating sandwiches at the Flavel, and will stick to coffee and cake in future. At least the cakes are served from their display with tongs.

My husband and I had tea and good toast sat outside this friendly cafe. A lovely, quiet area of town, I recommend a visit, especially on a sunny day.

We went on a bank holiday - was nice and busy with friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and a good mix of ages. DJ set was great too.

We popped over from Dartmouth for a walk and a drink. Decided to go into the Packet for a drink and sat up at the decked/roof area, which has a fantastic view over the river, train station, and is lovely and cosy. We had wine and beer and found the staff to be very friendly and a warm atmosphere. Beer selection was great, and my wife enjoyed her wine. Can't say if the food is good as we just had a drink. Might pop in again, if for nothing else but to enjoy the view.

Dartmouth has many restaurants, but on closer inspection, there is a lack of variety. Most Dartmouth menus feature steaks and burgers. So we chose Bayards Cove because there was something different on offer (vegetable lasagne and lamb kofte). Despite having a home here for 26 years, we'd never tried Bayards Cove - it always looked like a small cafe. Actually, the restaurant goes further back than you might think and has a nice atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable - and there is draught beer (much cheaper than paying restaurant prices for small cans). The wine is also reasonably priced. As another rather nice touch, there is no service charge added to the bill. Please take note of this and tip the serving staff (they do a very good job). A good evening - we will be back.

We were staying in Dartmouth and looking for a good, dog friendly place to eat and Brown's fit the bill perfectly. As it was a Monday evening the place was very quiet and we were offered a choice of two tables with plenty of space for our 2 Irish Setters. The very friendly waitress (sorry I didn't ask your name!) quickly took our orders for wine and food. Starters of roast chorizo and a field mushroom topped with goat's cheese were delicious and the mains of venison and wild boar ragu were every bit as good. Sadly, we had no room for desserts, but there looked to be a good choice. They don't have a car park but there is plenty of free on street parking on Victoria Road; I guess the place gets very busy in main seaon though so you may have to use one of the nearby pay car parks and walk along. Worth the walk though as it's certainly a place to recommend.

It is hard to find something in Dartmouth if you are vegan so didn't fancy our chances in the Market Square but running out of choices. A quick browse of the menu and I noticed they have a really inclusive menu with GF and VG choices. We had the home made soup and the Tofu baguette which were both exceptional with perfectly crisp but soft tofu and pea houmous. It sounds very worthy but was absolutely delicious and a proper light lunch. It has made the prospect of a trip to Dartmouth even more worthwhile.
