Great location with views over the river. We were seated outside under a canopy on a bench table with no back, so not too comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious and service friendly and efficient.

We were lucky enough to get a walk in table for 3 at the bar seats, the restaurant was fully booked for lunch. We were very glad they could accommodate us, the menu is on the blackboards as you walk in. We got the haddock and chips, the red mullet caught our eye so we ordered that and half a pint of prawns. The food was fantastic, we highly recommend the red mullet - it was cooked perfectly and seasoned lightly. The haddock and chips was also great, though a touch on the expensive side. If you're in the area, definitely stop by for lunch. I'd recommend booking ahead if possible, it's very popular. We also came back the following day and tried a few other dishes. We got the black bream, scallops, haddock and chips again and fresh oysters. All were fantastic.

Super tasty fresh seafood, all written up on specials boards which make it feel as though it's based on the catch of the day or what can be caught locally. I had the prawn cocktail and my partner had the crab tart, both with a tasty garden salad and potato salad, Definitely worth a visit!

Food was excellent but customer service not great . Had ordered a bottle of wine when our food order was taken but had to ask for it when halfway through our starter, as it had not been served . Also toilets are outside and staff and guests leave doors wide open so inside toilets are visible from 2 of the dining tables. Really needs looking at as not even sure this is compliant with food hygiene standards!

Came here for a family lunch and took us 15 mins to be seated at a table we had booked. Then took another 15 minutes to take our order. The drinks came 40 minutes later and they checked on us for top-ups only once in the 3 hours we were there. We didn’t receive our food for 2 hours and there was a 25 minute difference between the first 8 and last 2 people receiving their food. Food was pretty good but nothing special. Service atrociously slow - we almost missed our ferry home!

Been going here for 3yrs and it’s been fab but they just opened for the 2024 season and it was chaotic and extremely disappointing. No finger bowls for moules , no napkins, no water for the table and unable to accommodate allergies (but they didn’t tell us that and we sat there for an hour and a half) overall impression that they really don’t care. Let’s hope they can pick it up but serious wondering if they are with another try .

Relaxed restaurant with superb menu choices. The view is hard to beat with activity on the river always interesting. Portions are impressively large. Advance booking is advisable, but the crabs were the highlight. Go for the crab tart if you aren't into extracting crab meat. It does take practise. Finger bowls might have been useful, but it was hugely entertaining to watch first timers...oh yes, you might want to bring safety goggles (for flying crab shell).

Gorgeous location with lovely staff and nice food. I was delighted that they were happy to adapt some of the dishes to make them vegan rather than vegetarian. It could be really useful if they could put vegan available on the menu. But I really appreciate them having vegan options. The vegan carrot cake was particularly lovely even though it wasn’t on the menu. Definitely something to add to the regular desert menu!

This is a cafe I have been visiting for years but unfortunately I will never go again until the very unfriendly lady leaves, that thinks she owns Dartmouth. I noticed her telling customers to leave just because they was sat with a friend that had not purchased from there so called cafe. One lady was standing around the tables just having a quick chat with her friend while passing through and was told to leave. Such an unfriendly place to be and not what I see anywhere else in Dartmouth.

Had my first lunch here in nearly 4 years and it was every bit as good as I remember, shell on prawns to start, big fat scallops (with the roe on! Excellent friendly staff and a stunning view. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

You can eat under a weather & windproof awning with a very good view of the river Dart across to Greenway. 5* for food 5* for staff 5* position Everyone in our party of 8 had wonderful meals, 4 of us had eaten there 2 days before & had just as pleasant time here. Having driven over 250 miles to get to Devon, walked over 2 miles to get to the Greenway Ferry, paid £4 to get across the water to Dittersham, I can only express my disappointment at the customer service at the Cafe. The website clearly stated it was fully booked until the 2nd Sept (we went on the 16th Sept) expecting not to get in but prepared to book for the following week. It’s closed now on Mondays and Tuesdays and fully booked until the 27th Sept, allegedly! The manner in which we were informed wasn’t very customer friendly. Clearly this Cafe, and it is just a cafe (which in my opinion is still playing the COVID card to extremes) isn’t interested in trying to recover lost revenues from loyal tourists? Sometimes I wonder how places stay in business when they treat people so badly. They need to move on and open up to the public properly. Too late for me as we certainly won’t be bothering with them again.

My family and I went out to Anchor Stone Cafe for lunch on our day out in Dittisham. At first we were hesitant because there are only two cafes in Dittisham and neither of them seemed to be what we were looking for. We decided to give it a try and ended up with an incredible lunch experience. Even though they were full to the brim, they managed to accommodate us and give us a lovely big table by a window with a beautiful view of the sea right next to us. We ordered scallops, mussels and fish and chips. The staff were very thorough and understanding about allergies they made sure to avoid contamination from the dishes when necessary. Our food came reasonably quickly and was absolutely delicious. The mussels and scallops were the highlight of the meal and positively melted in the mouth. Although the portion size was massive, the fish and chips were amazingly well done and very fresh. The dessert we chose was ice cream which was fantastic and really pulled the meal through. The scoops were generous and looked very appealing. The honeycomb was particularly wonderful and sealed the deal for me. Special thanks to Alice, Lucy and Katie for their great service today.
