Popped in here with hubby for a pot of Earl grey and tea for hubby, also had a yummy slice of carrot cake. Had a lovely friendly chat with the owner Roger, who made us feel very welcome. He hasn't been opened very long, but we are sure he'll do well 🙂

Great little place close to Steam Railway and ferries to Dartmouth. Great coffee and selection of teas, plus cakes. Service was fantastic too. Limited seating but take away available.

Gorgeous little cafe. Very quaint with not much room to sit, but the coffee and drinks selection is very good as well as pastries, cakes and brownies. Lovely owner too. Right by the boat and train stop.

We arrived just as the coffee shop was closing but it was no problem to stop and prepare us beautiful fresh ham rolls and tea to take away. As we were sat eating our rolls I remembered I had read that this coffee shop sold a very good Bakewell Tart. Too late I thought but no the lady was still there and helpful as ever cut me what can only be described as a slab of the most delicious BT I have ever tasted! This service to us was top notch at a time when the lady (sorry didn't have a name) was obviously trying to 'close up' for the day. But as she said "every mickle makes a muckle" So true but customer service and good food is needed which we certainly received here! Thank you.

This was a welcome cafe, ideally situated and serves good coffee with a choice of cake. Great for a takeaway. However, I'm concerned that too many people were encouraged to enter into this small place at once, during this time of Covid and although there's a note on the door to wear a mask, I was the only person wearing one. A plea to the owner, please help your customers to feel safe.

Just spent the week with teenage family renting house a couple of doors down from the Kingswear Coffee shop. Highly recommend. Life-saver bacon panini’s every day, managed to kick start us into the various activities we planned. Great ice cream milk shakes, all flavours consumed during week by us all! Close call between the mint choc chip, banana or caramel....! Owner and staff v.friendly and willing to deliver your coffee as you board the lower ferry! Enhanced a great family time in Kingswear and Dartmouth. Thanks

Fabulous discovery, best bakewell slice I’ve ever had (including ones from bakewell!). Coffee was also excellent. If you’re going on the train or ferry, definitely get one to go!

We visit The Flavell for coffee and cake quite often, and are always happy with the service and food. On this particular day we had lunch, soup which was a bit thin and bread, but quite nice. While I was drinking a coffee after my lunch, I looked towards the preparing area and to my surprise watched one of the ladies making a sandwich, she picked up the filling with her bare hands plus the salad and put it together between the slices of bread. While you might do this at home, I would have thought preparing food for customers would necessitate wearing some sort of hand covering. This has put me off eating sandwiches at the Flavel, and will stick to coffee and cake in future. At least the cakes are served from their display with tongs.

What a delightful place to go for breakfast , we wandered in mainly because everywhere else didn’t open until 10am , We were very warmly welcomed , unfortunately I didn’t get the ladies name who looked after us , but she was friendly. Quirky nothing was to much trouble and the full English was freshly cooked ( we were told that because the sausages were freshly cooked there would be a wait ) Delicious local ingredients, the bubble and squeak was amazing . Wonderful coffee

SADLY I FOUND A HAIR IN MY CHOCOLATE BROWNIE. TOLD THE LADY IN THE CAFE WHO APOLOGISED AND SHRUGGED, BUT DIDN'T OFFER A REFUND OR A DIFFERENT PIECE OF CAKE. WON'T BOTHER TO EAT THERE AGAIN AS INCIDENT MADE FEEL SLIGHTLY NAUSEOUS.

3 of us wanted a light impromptu lunch today. The food was nice . The welcome was non existent verging on hostile and any questions to the waitress were answered almost with disdain. This made for a horrible atmosphere and I couldn’t wait to leave . A shame as I remembered it as a lovely cafe .
