We went on a bank holiday - was nice and busy with friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and a good mix of ages. DJ set was great too.

We had a stopover in Dartmouth while awaiting the river boat ride, we found this lovely bar opposite the garden and bandstand. Lovely friendly staff, and cool Ibiza music on a big screen. We had a lovely visit for four 60 + plus friends. Thank you for making us so welcome.

Lovely little cosy cocktail bar that we stumbled upon whilst escaping the rain. Gorgeous decor and comfy sofas. Wonderful cocktails- I recommend the Dark & Stormy. Chilled vibe. Planning to go back.

Went here twice during a stay near Dartmouth. Very good service including the bar making a cocktail not listed on the menu. Prices are excellent compared to other places we've been and the bar has comfy chairs and a very lively vibe (even at 5pm!!)

We booked a table and arrived a bit early and we put on a table with high seats. The lovely barman/host Tom who seated us said that there would be a sofa available within 10 minutes if we preferred, which we thought was lovely. We moved to the sofas, ordered our first cocktail of 3. Tom was very attentive and thoughtful and service was excellent. It was so nice to have service that was friendly and to have someone interested in having a conversation and he really seemed to enjoy hosting/serving and it was a lovely experience. If we lived here we'd definitely be regulars. Looking forward to our next visit!!!!

SADLY I FOUND A HAIR IN MY CHOCOLATE BROWNIE. TOLD THE LADY IN THE CAFE WHO APOLOGISED AND SHRUGGED, BUT DIDN'T OFFER A REFUND OR A DIFFERENT PIECE OF CAKE. WON'T BOTHER TO EAT THERE AGAIN AS INCIDENT MADE FEEL SLIGHTLY NAUSEOUS.

What a delightful place to go for breakfast , we wandered in mainly because everywhere else didn’t open until 10am , We were very warmly welcomed , unfortunately I didn’t get the ladies name who looked after us , but she was friendly. Quirky nothing was to much trouble and the full English was freshly cooked ( we were told that because the sausages were freshly cooked there would be a wait ) Delicious local ingredients, the bubble and squeak was amazing . Wonderful coffee

We visit The Flavell for coffee and cake quite often, and are always happy with the service and food. On this particular day we had lunch, soup which was a bit thin and bread, but quite nice. While I was drinking a coffee after my lunch, I looked towards the preparing area and to my surprise watched one of the ladies making a sandwich, she picked up the filling with her bare hands plus the salad and put it together between the slices of bread. While you might do this at home, I would have thought preparing food for customers would necessitate wearing some sort of hand covering. This has put me off eating sandwiches at the Flavel, and will stick to coffee and cake in future. At least the cakes are served from their display with tongs.
