And another great lunch st Jenny Koos! We love the daily specials and the pork belly on rice was wonderful! She really knows how to bring out the flavours in everything she cooks! Thanks again Jenny!

We didn’t want what a lot of other cafes were offering. This was just so tasty and different. The side salad , which I normally leave was just full of flavour, especially pickled ginger. We will certainly be back on our next visit.

Don’t be too quick to order that cream tea or sausage roll. Check the specials board and see what Jenny Koo has been busying herself with - you wont be disappointed. I chose the char sui pork laksa. Fresh, vibrant and way beyond expectation. What a find! Packed with vegetables, generously topped with perfectly cooked meat inc. crispy crackling, all sat on silky noodles in a fragrant broth. Divine!! Special thanks has to go to Jenny, who came outside for a quick chat about her recent travels and culinary adventures. A genuine highlight to a wonderful week in Devon.

Yet another lovely lunch! This time it was egg fried rice bowl with a choice of toppings. Both the sweet chilli beef and the pork had such great flavour and it is so reasonably priced. As I have said before If you want a freshly cooked lunch by someone who is passionate about what they do then look no further than Jenny Koos!

What can i say. An amazing experience. Delicious good and an exceptional welcome from Jenny and her staff. Brilliant breakfast, well timed and great amount of food. Lovely drinks options and surrounded by the little Dartmouth market (on the right day).

Outstanding local business. Food quality recently seems to have taken a major improvement and it was already good. They have new GF bread which makes all the difference too. A long standing community hub and caring staff. Not cheap but good value.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Expensive for what it is. For example a small piece of frittata and a very small salad for nine ounces odd. Went home and had toast to supplement. Disappointing as had heard good things.

So I've been compelled to update my review of this quaint little pub. We have been coming here multiple times a year for the last 6 years. It is always the highlight of our trip and the food is the gold standard of great pub food. Our latest trip here was nothing short of that. With the french food magician (Dom) injured and out of action, the food was still to his high standard (so a huge congratulations to the kitchen staff). Even though they were understaffed they made us feel welcome and any problems were quickly resolved, with apologies and an amazing sense of humour. Thanks Adam for being a great barman! Of course we will be back in a few months for a next trip down here.

Really nice historic, family run pub in the quietest little village. Really good food every time (especially Toms chips!) Stayed the night and had such a good sleep, woke up to the birds and a sunrise too! Ring ahead if you're unsure of times or what's on the menu, everyone's super friendly. Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone!

We are currently into about 2 months of a 3 month adventure from Australia to the Mediterranean, Europe and the UK and have numerous lovely meals. We have enjoyed meals on our cruise and lovely meals on our Coach tour however the best meals have been today down at the River Shack. Breakfast and Dinner tonight have been truly the best meals so far. Great work Mark. And the best coffee Sarah.
