My husband and I had tea and good toast sat outside this friendly cafe. A lovely, quiet area of town, I recommend a visit, especially on a sunny day.

We stumbled across this lovely little café during a trip to Dartmouth on a family holiday to nearby Torquay. We popped in for a quick drink to avoid the rain - the chap who served us was extremely welcoming, chatty and gave us some really interesting insights into Dartmouth and its history. Drinks were great, Yorkshire tea was a bonus! We also had a chai latte which was lovely and a freshly-made milkshake. Would definitely return, the café is nice and quiet and tucked away from the main high streets - a great find.

We called in at The Galley on the Dart for a drink and snack and thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there. The service was great as were the drinks and food. Definitely worth a visit.

Found this lovely cafe while having a wander around Dartmouth. It was tucked away in one of the little streets. We only wanted a coffee at the time and it was really nice. The owners were very friendly. What a lovely peaceful place to have a cuppa.

Found this little cafe when wandering round Dartmouth for something to eat. Very dog friendly with treats outside. We had two meal deal sandwiches, sausage roll and cakes. All reasonably priced and very tasty. Plus a very cute puppucino for our dog, cream and dog biscuits (Frankie enjoyed it very much). We sat outside and it was lovely and quiet away from the bustle of Dartmouth. The couple who own the cafe are very friendly and welcoming. We will be back 😊

We were looking for a place for a cream tea, dog friendly and, came across this lovely quaint corner run cafe. So glad we did If you want a friendly, local, family run cafe with friendly chat this is the place for you. Learn about the “local seagull” who has a biscuit every morning and throws the dogs water bowl outside the cafe 😂😂 and other local stories. We had two cream teas - absolutely superb. Just off the main harbour but only by 2 mins. Please visit - you won’t be disappointed.

We also tripped over this little gem which is just away from the busy area and far more peaceful and relaxing. Run by a really friendly couple with delicious cakes and excellent food in an attractive corner of the town.

Stumbled across this cafe whilst walking around Dartmouth. It is away from the hustle of the main streets and, as such, felt very tranquil. Lovely cream tea and very nice friendly staff. I’d definitely recommend.

This is a great place to visit. Avoid the front and take a little meander through the lanes and head to Browns Hill where the Galley is located. It’s definitely worth it. A lovely place and wonderful staff. Highly recommended

I hesitate to say this for fear of upsetting others in town but I think this serves the best flat white for miles!! Very friendly team who received their 5 star rating the day we were there - well done.

Perfect coffee and the most delicious cakes. Very friendly and helpful couple. Good selection of lunch time snacks at reasonable prices. But, the bread in the sandwiches was so thick!

Brilliant stop in Dartmouth ! Great quality , spotless and exceptional good value ... Great couple who run this corner sunshine spot for pleasure ... and you could see it 👍 The pricing was quite amazing considering the quality of there produce .. There focus is customer satisfaction and not high Profit margins .... We certainly will be back and any locals who nip out for coffee and a catch up daily need to frequent this venue .. It’s in a perfect location for a daily fix of caffeine and food .. Well done to all 👍

We discovered this lovely little cafe in one of the quieter nooks of Dartmouth and had such a lovely cup of coffee and such friendly service that we returned the next day too. As we are all only able to sit outside at present, it was great to discover this place with it's outdoor seating and big umbrellas (intended as sun-shades but worked equally well in a shower) - it felt almost continental sitting out there! A top tip is that in the mornings until early afternoon the outside seating is quite a sun trap. The owner is really friendly and chatty and is someone who genuinely enjoys his job, paying attention to getting everything all just right - lovely coffee, delicious looking cakes - and making sure that customers are happy.

SADLY I FOUND A HAIR IN MY CHOCOLATE BROWNIE. TOLD THE LADY IN THE CAFE WHO APOLOGISED AND SHRUGGED, BUT DIDN'T OFFER A REFUND OR A DIFFERENT PIECE OF CAKE. WON'T BOTHER TO EAT THERE AGAIN AS INCIDENT MADE FEEL SLIGHTLY NAUSEOUS.

What a delightful place to go for breakfast , we wandered in mainly because everywhere else didn’t open until 10am , We were very warmly welcomed , unfortunately I didn’t get the ladies name who looked after us , but she was friendly. Quirky nothing was to much trouble and the full English was freshly cooked ( we were told that because the sausages were freshly cooked there would be a wait ) Delicious local ingredients, the bubble and squeak was amazing . Wonderful coffee

We visit The Flavell for coffee and cake quite often, and are always happy with the service and food. On this particular day we had lunch, soup which was a bit thin and bread, but quite nice. While I was drinking a coffee after my lunch, I looked towards the preparing area and to my surprise watched one of the ladies making a sandwich, she picked up the filling with her bare hands plus the salad and put it together between the slices of bread. While you might do this at home, I would have thought preparing food for customers would necessitate wearing some sort of hand covering. This has put me off eating sandwiches at the Flavel, and will stick to coffee and cake in future. At least the cakes are served from their display with tongs.
