The best lunch I have had in several years. Beautifully prepared fresh food, and the cakes were delicious! Sat in the well tended garden in the sunshine- just perfect. Friendly and welcoming owners 😁. So glad we escaped from busy Lyme Regis to this little gem of a place.

We were lucky to get a table inside, however there is a few tables outside overlooking the church, if it’s dry. Most of our party had the homemade butternut squash soup and cheese scone. Both delicious, especially the cheese scone which was really cheesy, and so fresh! One of our party had the sweet potato and tuna dish which was also throughly enjoyed, using fresh ingredients. Coffees were also very good, would like to come back and try their cream tea!

Charming cafe connected to the church. As it was a lovely day we sat in the sunshine in the garden. We enjoyed cups of tea, apricot flapjack, and banana loaf. Excellent service and lovely staff. Thankyou for refreshments after a long hot walk

We popped across into this venue for the first time at 4:00pm to check it out. As the outside seating area was full we took our 3 german sheperd dogs into the empty bar to order some drinks. To say the barman was unfriendly is putting it mildly we offered to leave if he had an issue he begrudgingly said we could stay to order our drinks then proceeded to tell us about all the sold out beers he could not offer us Needless to say we left there are plenty of other venues in Devon who are dog friendly

Best bacon roll that I can remember, and I love a bacon butty! The bacon was great quality and cooked perfectly, big rashers, bap warmed, generous anount of butter and sauce. All in all it seemed prepared with care and everything was freshly cooked and piping hot. Mum had a lovely croissant and our coffees were good and also piping hot. Bravo. We will return for sure.

Visited on busy day but got table easily. Excellent staff and good menu. Decided to be bold and ordered conger eel. Hmm. At least I can say I tried it but not for me - meal was excellent on whole and partner enjoyed Egyptian beans. Big portions and v tasty smoothies, lovely place and a new “go to”…

We came in because it was pouring with rain, we were immediately welcomed so warmly that we dried off quickly. Only intended to have a hot drink but stayed for lunch. Teacakes, tuna mayo toastie, chorizo panino and salmon cream cheese bagel ordered and all were fantastic. Would recommend to anyone visiting this lovely coastal village

I ate here on Friday night with my wife and mother. The first impression was good as we were warmly welcomed by name by a lady called Tyra. After being seated a friendly young chap called Sam came and took our drinks order. He recommended a bottle of Simonsig Rose and it was excellent. We ordered a couple of starters to share (burrata and pickles and the other was prawns and octopus) both were divine and I was disappointed that I had agreed to share mine. Main course was cornfed chicken supreme x 3 with assorted mushrooms and a delicious sauce. It was absolutely outstanding. The ladies loved their desserts whilst I enjoyed a lovely glass of house Cab Sauv. The chef is a chap called Jake West. Watch out for him as he is going far. He creates intensively flavoured, utterly delicious dishes and serves them in decent size portions. They must be the gateway to gluttony as despite the generous portion sizes I was left craving for more. With Jake’s cooking and Sam and Tyra looking after the guests Brooks Kitchen have landed themselves a cracking team. Highly recommended. I think they are only open Friday and Saturday night. One tip for the owners, some acoustic tiles would really help. As there are no soft furnishings at all, once everyone’s had a drink or two the volume increases and suddenly everyone is shouting due to the building (an old bank) being very echoey. Acoustic tiles would maximise customer satisfaction and ensure your booking list grows a few months in advance. Fortunately, once everyone began eating Jake’s food conversation reduced to a whisper, a testimony to that young man’s culinary skills.
