We popped across into this venue for the first time at 4:00pm to check it out. As the outside seating area was full we took our 3 german sheperd dogs into the empty bar to order some drinks. To say the barman was unfriendly is putting it mildly we offered to leave if he had an issue he begrudgingly said we could stay to order our drinks then proceeded to tell us about all the sold out beers he could not offer us Needless to say we left there are plenty of other venues in Devon who are dog friendly

A lovely little pub with plenty of character. Really nice craft ale and friendly people. The beers change weekly giving us something different each week. They open Thursday to Saturday until 9pm.

I’ve been waiting to try this place for ages; I’m always here on the wrong day! Opens Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays! Great quirky real ale heaven. Friendly staff and great beer…they even have wine for the non real ale converts. Definitely worth a visit!

The Ale Way is a delightful pub at Axminster Station. Really lovely owners and the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly. Based in the old station house, it’s really quirky inside but has been refitted to a very high standard. Local beers and ciders are always on tap and change regularly. Cannot rate this venue highly enough.

The Ale Way is another Gem of Axminster, It has the best range of real ales which change from week to week. Great to call in for a quick pint whilst waiting for a train, or pop in to meet friends.

Best beer, loads of selection, lovely inside and out and extremely friendly. If ever train station had a pub like this I'd use trains more often! I will be back!

A warm welcome and great craft beer in a very comfortable venue. Micro pub with a macro experience. Shame that onward travel prevented us sampling more ales.

We are moving from Axminster this week. We will greatly miss the Aleway micropub. We have never had anything other than an incredibly warm welcome and without any shadow of a doubt we have tasted wonderful beer from the local area and further afield, which is kept and served with skill and love. We will miss you !

The Ale Way is a fantastic addition to the pub scene in the Axminster area. Located right on the station platform in a beautifully renovated old building and tastefully furnished, the Ale Way offers a great range of real ale, craft ale and cider. As real ale aficionados, we really appreciated the superb condition of the range of beers we tried. Plenty of seating, including an outdoor are on the platform and very comfortable rooms upstairs. So good to see a new place like this open up and with the enthusiastic & friendly owners behind the bar it thoroughly deserves to succeed !

Came across this spot after a weekend in Beer. We were early for our train so were seriously pleased to find this great micro pub. Such a warm welcome from the owners. It was a wonderful way to round off our holiday. I recommend everyone else arrive early for their trains too!

Easy to access from all over the south west as it’s in the station buildings at Axminster. Warm welcome from the owners, fantastic range of beers from the south west at sensible prices. Beautiful decor inside with lots of old maps and little touches that nod to the railway. A fantastic destination in itself or perfect place for a pint at the end or start of a journey. We will definitely be back.

Micro pub in part of the Axminster Station building, the bar area downstairs is small and seats about 5 people, upstairs are two other rooms the bigger of which can sit upto 20 people, the smaller room about 8. Card games, board games and books are available. Moving on, the choice of beer was amazing with a good selection of draught, bottles and cans. I’m sure selections will change as time goes on. With my visit being in Covid times it was table service only but ordering was straight forward with a q r code on each table to scan and each table being named. The guys running this venture are great and seem very passionate about the beer.

I went there with two housemates from my nearby home, and had a berry fruit tea with a malt loaf tea-bread.

Fabulous place. Great service! Tasty food and a lovely space. Just down the road from the stunning church so if you're visiting the church this needs to be a pitstop of yours.
