I went there with two housemates from my nearby home, and had a berry fruit tea with a malt loaf tea-bread.

It was a special birthday for a member of the family, five of us plus a baby, were treated to a delicious tea. This included a good variety of sandwiches, cakes, scones with plenty of jam and cream. Nothing was too much trouble. Extra pots of tea were provided when needed. The baby was welcomed and provided with a safe, comfortable seat. As we were leaving the birthday girl was given two bunches of daffodils. This is an exceptional place. Highly recommended.

We called into the Tea Cosy last week when the inspectors called ! We had lunch which was very good . The men had a ploughman’s and we had jacket potatoes. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. We had to wait awhile because of the inspectors visit! A bowl of crisps was brought out and extra tea and coffee. We were horrified to hear that the inspector was downgrading the hygiene rating because they did not have the paperwork on the premises that day, the bin was plastic not metal and that an extractor fan was missing in the toilet !! I can honestly say that the Tea Cosy is well worth a visit and everything was very clean -you can see the kitchen and facilities when you walk through to the toilet. The ladies work very hard . We will definitely visit again

If you enjoy a little luxury and a bit of tradition then this is the place to experience a traditional English afternoon tea. It doesn't stop there, being open all day there is an excellent menu from which to chose other well presented delicacies to enjoy.

This little place is the finest cafe, or even establishment I have stumbled across in the last decade. I ordered a luxury hot chocolate, and I have never experienced such a well presented drink, it even came accompanied with marshmallow’s and a flake! The staff was also very friendly, even offering my friend Simon unlimited refills when it came to his saucer of tea! Couldn’t recommend more if you are longing for a cup of tea and cake ! My one criticism was the way in which you ordered the food and drinks, and I believe a simple counter instalment would make it more professional, other than that a fantastic addition to exmouth’s hospitable establishments

This is such a lovely place, really friendly, very good value, this is a recommendation given without reservation. If you are in Exmouth then give yourself a treat and have a snack or afternoon tea here.Had a superb and cheese ploughman’s, with a real lesson in how to do a small accompanying salad, fruit scone, cream and jam with proper tea. This business really deserves to prosper.

This lovely tea room is a great place to visit. The food on offer is freshly prepared and is delicious, generous in portions and is always leaves you wanting to come back again. The prawn sandwich is the best in Exmouth and is one of many choices my family and friends have tried. Understandable the tea cosy is getting very busy and you may well need to book at peak times.SUZANNE and her team go out of the way to accommodate you and make you feel very welcome. If you want lovely homemade choices including cakes that are delicious too, visit as soon as you can, you will not be disappointed.

Booked a table as it was my husbands christmas present from december 2018. We had had so many hospital stays/appointments that we were unable to go any earlier. We booked for High Tea and we certainly enjoyed all that was on offer. Everything was clean and fresh, nothing was too much trouble and the food totally delicious. Would not hesitate to go again. A thoroughly enjoyable time - can't wait until our next visit.

Due to us being on holiday, we didn’t know where was good to go or not but thought this looked nice from the outside! Walked in and sat down, was the only ones in there.. Nice selection on menu. We ordered two cream teas and a plain scone for my son with hot chocolate. Nice leaf tea. Strainer looked Very old ... (strange for a ‘new business’All the staff in there appeared very unprofessional, two went for cigarettes whilst we was waiting for food, wafting the smell of smoke back into the small room you sit in, Not nice when you’re sitting with your child. I felt we was being watched like a hawk. It was very off putting.Staff were just having there general chit chat out the back whilst making our food unprofessional imo when you can see the staff making the food and hear them so loud because it’s such a small place. when my sons food came he had a mouldy strawberry. I complained and the woman said oh god we’ve never had that happen before we buy them fresh everyday - blame tesco ! the fact this strawberry was chopped in half makes me believe whoever was cutting them just is paying no attention or that they are left there for a long amount of time before serving. i also don’t want to pay for a treat out and discover its produce is from tesco ♀️ small portions Scones were nice though. wouldn’t go back. i’ve had better cream tea in m&s cafe lol they don’t accept card - cos they’re a new business lol sorry tea cosy

I’ve Visited the tea cosy quite a lot now and have tried ALOT of them menu. From cakes to toasties to even just a pit stop and cup of tea. The service has always been brilliant such friendly staff and always willing to go that extra mile. My son loves the milkshakes they do and they are always very friendly to him also (he’s five) the food is on such a different scale it’s brilliant the toasties come with salad and fruit and crisps so filling and generally taste lovely. It’s clear to see this venue takes a lot of pride in their home made food but also in the appearance/cleanliness of the venue and their customer service is spot on. Will defiantly be visiting again soon! Thanks tea cosy

Step through the door of The Tea Cosy and you'll find yourself transported back to the age of charming and beautifully appointed high street tea shops you might have come across in the forties and fifties. Here the tables are laid with crisp white tablecloths, and leaf tea is served in elegant teapots requiring the use of a tea strainer as you pour into delightful crockery that's so in keeping with the surrounding well-chosen homely decor. Here is the kind of quaint old-fashioned Tea Room that any town would love to have. Being reminiscent of an earlier age, coffees such as espressos, cappuccinos and flat whites do not feature here. But excellent traditional coffee is served in cafetieres. Just watch High Tea or a cream tea being served to an adjacent table and you'll want one too. But there's more yet to rave about - home made cakes and scones and a whole range of light meals such as baked potatoes, homemade soup, beautifully composed salads, sandwiches, breakfasts, toasties, ice creams etc. And did I mention those wonderful high teas? Come here just once and you'll definitely want to come again. The best bit? The Tea Cosy is run by charming and engaging people who make you feel welcome and at home as soon as you arrive.

Headed here for lunch with family , very good home cooked food , reasonable prices , semi quick service and nice atmosphere ! Only downside when you go to pay with a card they then tell you we don't accept cards ! Your then fumbling for money to pay your bill ! Its the norm if you don't accept cards that's fine but clearly advertise it in the window , on the door ,on the table that would help the customer a great deal ! Will be back with enough cash time next time.

I don’t know if we came on a bad day but it wasn’t hugely busy. Several tables came in after us but got served before us. We waited 25 minutes for drinks and another 10 minutes for a piece of cake. There was a young girl who was new and very helpful and she was sadly left to deal with several complaining customers. We don’t mind waiting for food but it’s not great when you see a lot of other people get served before you when you ordered the simplest of things.Stars given as the cake was very nice.

So today myself and friends decided to go for afternoon tea and thought we would give the tea cosy a try. We were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by Vanessa who organised the tables outside so that we could all sit together and gave us a menu. After a few moments she came back to take our order and let us place them individually which was a nice touch considering there were 7 of us. 6 of us went for the afternoon tea for 2 which is amazing value for money. The total comes to £8 per person. With this you get finger sandwiches, scones, cake, tea/coffee and Crisps. Everything came out fresh and delicious. Everything from the crockery to the service was delightful. Both members of staff went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and the owner also made the effort to ensure everything was perfect when she was leaving. There is not a single thing I could fault about this experience and will definitely be back again.

At first glance this is a lovely cozy cafe. The day we were there the waitress was extremely rude . Our request for menus was met with a tut - far too much work .When they burnt the tea cakes she climbed all over me to wave a tea towel at the fire alarm . When we hadn’t received our food after 30 minutes she announced it was freshly made and served in order . But we were in there before all the other visitors .After 45 minutes and we still hadn’t eaten we walked out . An apology would have been nice .Fully recommend the cafe in the indoor market .

There were lots of fish options on the menu, which is what we like to see in a seaside restaurant . I had brill as you don’t see it on menus very often, and it’s a delicious flat fish similar to turbot. It was cooked beautifully, with a flavoursome sauce and vegetables, including samphire which I love! Finished off with warm chocolate fudge cake and a generous serving of double cream, and an excellent coffee, all served by a very helpful waitress. perfect!
