The best restaurants in East Devon South West

Agree with previous posts .. a great spot and for me I’d add it was delightful to trip across a gluten free pasty (veggie or meat!!) that was excellent. Trendy, cute, friendly with outdoor booths and deck chairs. Just chill and watch the sea and water sports. ‘It’s ‘Hangtime’ 😁

Went there with friends mid afternoon on a Saturday, we sat in the garden which was lovely. Ordered drinks only, a pot of tea, cappuccino and four cans of fizzy drinks. It took over twenty minutes to arrive. Our waitress was nice and polite, but our fizzy drinks were not chilled, when we enquired if the were any colder cans we were told no, was offered ice, which was great. But the glasses were warm! Sadly would probably try a different cafe next time.

We would TOTALLY agree with the One review. A gem of a find. It has been a very long time since we have enjoyed such finger-licking (yes, we had the tiger prawns; exceptional, as were the samosas!) unpretentious, tasty, expertly prepared, top quality food, for a very reasonable price. All freshly prepared, as we waited. Met with a warm welcome, with an abundance of enthusiasm to check we were enjoying our flavoursome Portuguese fayre. Our taste buds had a full workout! Our hosts are rightfully proud of their mama’s culinary skills and the evident love and care she lavishes on her creations. The menu is simple, but powerful. We will definitely be back for more. Has just come under new ownership. Had a bacon and brie baguette, was jam packed with filling. Also good selection of soft drinks. Great value.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. My daughter is a colieac and wanted a gluten free cream tea. This place does the most amazing cream tea at great prices. The owners are lively and chatted with my daughter about her travels, Fantastic hidden gem!!

I've been coming here for about 10 years only ocationally but it never disappoints the cake especially the carrot cake with cream frosting is the most delicious cake seriously every mouthful is a literal pleasure the place it's self is so cosy with log burner and comfy sofa the people are so friendly and welcoming. I also recommend there restaurant in Honiton the yellow deli again here high quality and great service. Thank you from Rebekah, Michael and Fred

Great little hidden Pizza place just behind the sea front at Seaton. Nice ambience and friendly and helpful staff. The Pizzas are not the usual run of the mill drowning in toppings and hope you don't notice they all taste the same .... rather they combine uncommon ingredients on a large edge thin based 12" - things like roasted artichoke, Mackerel, lemon zest, even honey. The results are simply mouth wateringly superb.

Fabulous food and cocktails. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely and friendly cafe with a good selection of meal options. Pretty interior. Free on street parking. Would recommend.

Locals on a walk looking for a cuppa If I was to sum up our visit today in one word it would be…. Ansum ( Devon for lovey or proper job for those who are not from these parts. ) Excellent cheese scone, dog friendly, spotlessly clean and happy staff. We will be back.

I was in two minds on whether to review The Cuppa Cabin. On the one hand it is a very unique place that serves great coffee and cakes and yet on the other Im worried it will get super popular as more and more people visit this wonderful place and it will get much harder to find a parking space!! This is literally 5 mins away from me and yet amazingly this was my first visit. I had looked at the place as I had driven past numerous times and thought it looked just like some sheds in a car park. How wrong I was, it is like a mini theme park when you get there, a collection of cabins with an eclectic mix of antique furniture, books galore and oddities, like a cross between an amazing junk shop, an old book store and Enid Blytons secret garden. I half expected to come across some pixies flying around. Anyway great coffee, lovely cheery lady and tasty cakes (pastries and other savouries are also available) what more could you ask for ?

Often walked past and on way back from walking dog so thought i would give it a go. Just wanted a sandwich, wasnt asked what sort of bread, white or brown advertised, order a tuna bap with salad. Said bap was defrosted in microwave and filled with a very wet tuna mayo filling, so wet that the whole thing disintegrated. At 4.60 not at all impressed and wont be using again, very overpriced for what it is, the granary in withycombe does a much better job all round, stick to your meals on wheels.

Friendly cafe with a decent menu and good food. Very conveniently located on the station platform. Popped in while waiting for a train and had a coffee (very. Good) and a takeaway sandwich (equally good). Great service and tasty food
