Very expensive menu considering it is a dingy, dark dirty looking cafe with a very basic standard cheap cafe menu. No decaffeinated hot drinks available Wanted £9 for a baked spud and a coffee Then told me they only take cash If the place had been cheerful and clean looking with a reasonably priced menu I'd have walked to the nearest cash point to oblige. As it was, I went across the road to Parsons bakery and got a delicious baguette, cake and decaf coffee meal deal for £4.50 Glad you put me off with the cash thing frankly.

We came in late ish on a Sunday the staff were talking about previous customers slagging them off infront of the customers that were stood waiting to be served, I also heard them swearing while talking between them selfs which is very unprofessional! The hot chocolate was meant to be a luxury hot chocolate and it was the worst drink I’ve ever had I didn’t end up drinking it it was cold and sooo strong with chocolate it was near to being undrinkable, first and last time visiting this place.

Having a nice cocktail sat in the window facing out , while watching the shortish bouncer with black shaved hair refusing to allow a group of 4 big girls with pretty dresses in. Just shook his head and refused them entry. They walked off a bit despondent. Within 60 seconds he let 2 couples in and a group of 6 lads. Couldn't believe my eyes at the obvious discrimination as they weren't slim, and wearing next to nothing like the very very tall girl who should have been banned for basically showing her fanny all evening and looking ridiculous. YOU CANT ban people because they're over weight. Disgraceful.!!!

We felt that the product range had diminished as had the offerings at the meat counter. It all felt like it needed brightening up. We are in the deli and my pork and apple pie was oversized, rather dry and there was little evidence of apple. The carrot salad was lovely but the green salad had certainly seen better days. Although their Christmas Shop purported to be open there was little sign of it. My husband had a very weak pot of tea. However the young and tall woman on the till was a ray of sunshine.

This picture is well out of date. It does not show the Restaurant as it is now. We have been going to The Bear since 1990. The present company took it over in 1996 I believe. They have made many changes. We have spent weekends, short breaks, wedding anniversaries and 4 Christmases at The Bear over the years. This was our first time back since pre-Covid. We were disappointed - the ambience is no longer there. The Restaurant, in particular, is soulless. Gone are the carpets on the floor - replaced by parquet flooring. Gone is the charming furniture which added to the beauty of the room. It looks more like a cafe than the upmarket room we once knew. We elected to eat in The Common Room - which is an off-shoot of the bar as the thought of sitting in the restaurant with very few diners did not appeal at all. This room was previously a lovely small snug where residents could sit, relax, read the papers or a book. The food was excellent. The waiting staff at dinner excellent and very professional. All in all, so disappointing. Sadly this will be our last visit to The Bear.

My friend lost her coat ticket and had a video of her wearing it. The only blue jacket in the cloakroom and they all were really rude and said we had to wait till 3am to get the coat even though our friend was freezing and didn’t make any sense since she had evidence it was her coat needs to have improvements.

Awful visit today at the regents arcade soho coffee - usually it is so lovely and well staffed. However, today I was greeted with two young girls who were the pinnacle of disrespectful and rude, they wouldn’t stop saying nasty comments to my mother and laughing at her order. Then proceeded to watch us and laugh and made us so uncomfortable we had to leave.

We popped in for a pasty & were so pleased we did - they were absolutely delicious. So yummy that we tried the scones too. Equally delightful. Lovely place with delicious food - now our favourite bakery in Love.
