Half a miniature scoop of melted sloppy ice cream in a stale cone; resembled cardboard, £2.50. Go elsewhere. I did wonder why there was no queue for this place, but elsewhere there was.

A family of 12 of us were at minehead for my mums 75th bday.. we wanted to grab a cuppa and bite to eat and the oldies needed to sit down so we went here. My niece took my great niece to the arcade and she got an ice cream then came back to us the owner would not let a 5 year old in the venue with the ice cream to join us as it was purchased elsewhere. So at this 4 of us left and waited outside whilst the oldies had a cuppa which they said was luke warm and in a paper cup and we did not purchase food as the mood was already at a low.. I would rate this place 1/10 just as they had dirty seats to sit on. I would not recommend anyone visiting this venue and the way they treat the public I don’t think they will be open much longer and hopefully make way for a decent cafe who like to help holiday members experience a fun day out ..

After having a wonderful Experience here last year we returned for birthday Sundaes this year. Sadly it has gone down hill, now only serves take aways and sundaes were poor no wafer/sauces etc as pictured on the menu. The rest of the space was like a junk yard! Not sure if they are in the process of moving out as boxes everywhere.

We have taken our annual trip to Dunster Castle and Minehead for many years, and have always stopped at this café for lunch. It was never a posh restaurant, but suited us for quick lunch, and their fish and chips were always good. We returned this September for the first time since covid, and wow how this cafe has gone downhill. Areas of the café were roped off on both sides, and the menu was unbelievably in these times hand written. My wife and I were disappointed to learn that they no longer did fish and chips, so my wife had ham, egg and chips, and I had the breakfast. I went to get the cutlery and had to fish around to find some decent cutlery which was all very old. I had a bottle of coca cola and was given the smallest glass to drink from. I think I filled it up 4 times from the bottle. The glass was also scratched and should have been thrown away years ago. The breakfast was not very satisfying as I would imagine the ingredients were the cheapest you could buy and the egg so small you almost missed it. my wife's ham was very poor, and she left most of the chips. We will never visit this café again, and from the few people in the café at 1pm when we arrived I imagine most other previous guests have stopped going there as well,

I would hate to be in this sort of business, post Covid lockdown recovery still slow. Our first visit. We fancied a Knickerbocker Glory each. Short wait at the Ice counter and a fairly standard ice cream brought to the table. The sales card says the Knickerbocker should have Kiwi and Strawberry fruit in the mix. None were found. The topping cream was distinctly aerosol type rather than fresh as stated on the card. The person serving commented they didn't know how to do a Knickerbocker so another assistant made them instead. No napkins were provided at the table and we were not sure if any were at the counter. The venue is huge and even has other sections closed off, it was mostly empty on a special September Minehead Bay Festival day. It all looks rather dated but serviceable. They have a superb coast-side location however the massive frontage windows don't open, I would put in an open front to take advantage of the location. I hope Minehead Council will assist them with upgrades as it will boost tourism.

This place seems to have seriously gone downhill. Stops serving food at 3.00, despite being open for another hour. Menu on door is hand written. No-one serving at 2.30. No longer does fish and chips, which used to be good. Ignored for 5 minutes and then walked out. Shame - never again.

Popped in just for some lunch. Ordered two cheese toastie sandwiches and a portion of chips. While waiting for meal to arrive we both said that it was a mismatch of ideas. Ice cream parlour on one side and cafe on the other. It had no atmosphere what so ever. Just a few chairs in a empty space. Meal arrived. Toasties were luke warm at best. After opening the sandwich there was just a little bit of cheese in the middle of sanwich and onion spread over the rest. The chips were very undercooked. Still hard on inside. One of the worst meals. Don't waste your money. A greasy spoon cafe would serve you better meals.

Half term and we were the only ones in there practically, should have wondered really why it's so empty. Has gone downhill since we last went , miserable staff, if you like brunch that's fine , there's really not much else, not even fish and chips!! As for kids meals....there's absolutely nothing. Was told to piece together items from the brunch menu for the toddler. I had red onion toastie, was advertised as cheese and onion but think they forgot the cheese. Left most of it. Rest of them had a brunch, awful. Wouldn't go back, no good complaining the woman in charge is miserable , no smiles , just glares as you come in. To start, I can not review their service, their food or anything of that sort. My complaint is for the sheer ridiculous rule that their toilets are for customers only - especially when children are involved. My 3 year old daughter and I were in the amusements when she asked to go to the toilet, I don't know the area so quickly searched for the closest cafe of some sort. My daughter has only been potty trained for a couple of months, and obviously there's only a short amount of time before she really needs to go! I came into the cafe and asked a member of staff whether my daughter could use the toilet. She responded that their toilets are for customers only. I reiterated that it was for my young daughter and please could an exception be made in this instance, and she responded with the same. My daughter then had an accident on their floor, and I'm sorry to say that I really did not care. The lady was then forced to let us use their toilet so I could clean my distressed daughter up. I appreciate that they want to avoid people taking the mick, but surely judgement plays a part in this. So upset.

The clue to this ice cream parlour is in the question, or at least the eating! There are a host of attempts to make ice cream on any seafront and not all of them terrible but in comparison this particular parlour is not to be dallied with or hesitated about. It's straight in, no straining, and enjoy the stuff of dreams. Discern all ice cream lovers and kids because here a cone will slip down your chin, rather elegantly, and not be made of bits of held-together ice in the usual way. You know what I'm talking about. The proprietors are not mean either. You get a toilet voucher for every ice cream you purchase. Go on, you might need it if you think about it. I did. So get down to a rather good parlour and don't think about going anywhere else. Does the job.

The waitress quite un-interested in what she was doing and dumped the food on the table. The lady taking the order was not at all helpful and was only interested in getting money into the till. My immediate thought was and they wonder why people do not holiday in Britain.

Located ideally on the sea front with views across the channel to the front and the railway at the rear. Nice clean and spacious restaurant with friendly staff. Serves a hot plate style breakfast priced at 70p an item, good cup of tea and a lovely cup of coffee. Food is well prepared and as importantly served hot. Don't expect nouvelle cuisine but if you want good, traditional English seaside café fare then this is the place to go. Looked like a very good children's menu too so ideal for family's. The opening hours reflect the season but open every weekend and I believe all the time from Easter onwards.

Found the staff slightly rude. Food was bland. Also having to use the bathroom is an experience can't go unless you have a code. Will I go there again hell no. Much nicer and cheaper restaurants in town. Go up the Wellington worth the walk

Went here today for lunch with my son and parents. Mum, Dad and I all had the fish, chips and peas and my son demolished a plate of Chicken Teddy and Chips!! Meal was with us in quick time, freshly cooked, nice thin batter on the fish, chips were lovely and fluffy and it was all piping hot!! Would definitely recommend this place for sea side fish and chips!! Perfect!!!!

As we were staying in Minehead for a week, we decided to visit the icecream parlour. It took quite a long time to serve us, yet we were the only customers and the sundaes were prepacked in plastic tubs which only needed placing in sundae dishes. The icecream was quite nice, with a large selection.

This is a large venue catering for people coming straight off the beach. Service is efficient and friendly & the food is what you would expect and perfectly reasonable value for money. A little more than you might pay further away but it is the convenience.

Greasy and tasteless. From frozen. Don't bother. Right across from the beach, catering to tourist. I deserved this experience as I should have known better.

You must book. The food was excellent. A typical country pub. Well worth a visit. Not cheap but the food is worth every penny.

This is our second time visiting in as many years. The first year was passable as ok. This time around was absolutely shocking. The food was possiblity the worst pub food we have ever tried. I have no idea what the cook done to the chips but they were swimming in grease and the same for the gammon. The kids pasta was over microwaved and the peas were cold. The service was equally as shocking. The venue was pretty empty so was a bit annoyed when we had to wait and ask for our deserts. When they came out, our table still had all the dirty main course plates on it, however the server placed the deserts down on the table amongst them. When she removed the dirty plates she did not ask if everything was ok,so we made a point in telling her it was bad. Disappointingly though she dismissed it and nothing was said. Ignore the posters throughout offering 25% off food for military as there are so many conditions that you don't get it. And to top it off the two men's cubicles at 14:00hrs on a quite day were covered in s*"t. Avoid unless you are desperate.

I have now reached the 56 year mark and after the time I have had since April I value every day far more than I did and take each day as it comes and expect to be taken as I am by others. In all my visits to Exmoor with my parents when I was growing up and when I returned back down with my lovely wife and various dogs over the years we have never been in the White Horse. As we were staying at Court Farm in Snowdrop we took the chance on a filthy night to venture in to the bar at the White Horse. I really liked the set up=looked like church or chapel pews and plenty of country pictures and items on the walls-how it should be. The gentleman serving says Mark on the receipt was a lovely gent pleasant and hosting without any airs or graces-helpful and considerate. Meal wise we had One Trout in Almonds served with new potatoes and seasonal veg well cooked and well presented and One Flat Iron Steak cooked medium which again was very well cooked and well presented. Managed one sticky toffee pudding and one raspberry brulee washed down with Guiness and Exmoor ale, the waiting staff were pleasant and effecient and the chef has an odd sense of humour but having come from that background I enjoyed that. Excellent meal in wonderful surroundings
