Brewers Fayre Minehead in West Somerset

Recently had the pleasure in visiting the Brewers Fayre as we were staying in the hotel. Staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was well cooked and served quickly. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

No all you can eat but all the better they take your order, quantity you want, leave out what you dont like. All done with a welcoming smile.

My husband and I visited Brewer's Fayre Minehead today and we couldn't have been happier. The staff were welcoming and attentive during our visit. Our food was cooked well and was very nice, the value for money was second to none in my opinion. Definitely worth a visit. We were happy that we had decided to give them a go considering not all reviews have been great. We'd definitely eat here again. (They even found me a box to take my leftovers in!) Thank you team for our experience!

Good food, well priced, decent service 👌

We had Sunday lunch, it was great to see vegan and gluten free options, staff were very friendly and did everything they could to help.

Stayed at the Premier next door and ate here on the first night. Burgers were amazing, hot and service was swift. Enjoyed so much we came back the following night and ordered the same food, did not disappoint. Staff very welcoming, would certainly recommend.

Come here for the first time was staying at minehead for my hen weekend and the food and staff were lovely, all of our table went for the £5 lunch menu and we were all very surprised how big the portions were and again urs was lush

Large family with screaming kids on this visit was less than welcome.

We visited on a Saturday evening and had been enjoying drinks after a nice meal out. At 10:05 pm, I went to order another drink but was abruptly told they were closed, despite advertising a closing time of 11 pm. A polite last orders notice would have been appreciated, especially since we had been there since just before 9 pm and there were still other tables present. The server was rude and dismissive, making it clear they were eager to leave. Coming from a hospitality background and visiting regularly due to family, I found this unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured I won’t be returning (visited Saturday 25th Jan)

On arrival at Mineheads brewers fayre we were met by Helen who was very welcoming the food was well cooked hot and value for money, nothing was to much trouble, I would highly recommend thank you Helen for your hospitality.

First visit, just in the area and noticed the sign. Fab service 👏, meticulously clean throughout including toilets and easily the best food I've eaten in a Brewers Fayre. Everything tasted fresh with more flavour than several others in this chain that I've been to and my better half agrees 👍. Well done to you all and many thanks.

Stopped off on the way to a weekend away. Great food, excellent service, and although quite quiet still felt like a busy place. Toilets were spotlessly clean, and so was the restaurant. Food arrived quickly and was well presented and hot. We had ordered desserts, and our plates were cleared, and we were asked if we wanted our desserts then or wait a few minutes. A little tip to other Brewers Fayres that Minehead staff managed. 1. Asked if we had a bonus card. Tick. 2. Asked if we had any vouchers. Tick. 3. As we left, they said goodbye and wished us a good rest of the day . Tick. Unfortunately, we did not get the two members of staffs names, but if I owned a restaurant, I would head hunt them to work for me.

Took advantage of the meal deal over a two night stay lovely evening meals and breakfast was good too they managed to put on a cooked breakfast for us all at 06.30 .

We visited this evening and have to say how pleasantly surprised we both were. We were served at the bar by Georgina, she was absolutely fantastic especially considering I’m not the easiest customer in the world. She was very attentive, informative with a polite, courteous smile. Nothing we asked seemed to phase her despite my constant barrage of questions. The restaurant was clean, warm and comfortable as you would expect. Our food arrived promptly and was as you expect to find in a Brewers Fair, simple well cooked and tasty. Excellent value for the price we paid. Thank you Georgina for our excellent service and making us feel so welcome. In our most honest humble opinion you most definitely deserve a promotion and substantial pay increase.

Bar staff are brilliant. Food was as good as it always is. Beer was cold! Perfect

Had a Sunday lunch the meat was tuff, no Yorkshire puddings no stuffing and well I have no idea how anyone can make Cauliflower cheese like a mashed up mush even had to ask what it was it was like baby food full of garlic , cauliflower cheese in a lumpy paste really horrible. All in all not nice plus I was very unwell all night (think it was the Cauliflower cheese) won’t be coming back sorry.

We came here when stirm Darrah was happening and it was crazy outside. The staff were amazing! They were so helpful and kind towards me and my two little daughters who were understandably confused as to what was going on. Staff were lovely with them and gave them extra colouring bits and helped me with doors and getting breakfast with two littles. Food was amazing and I will definitely be going back here again. Staff could not have been better! what a lovely experience to have such amazing people when there is absolute chaos outside and your are scrambling! Thank you!

This is our second time visiting in as many years. The first year was passable as ok. This time around was absolutely shocking. The food was possiblity the worst pub food we have ever tried. I have no idea what the cook done to the chips but they were swimming in grease and the same for the gammon. The kids pasta was over microwaved and the peas were cold. The service was equally as shocking. The venue was pretty empty so was a bit annoyed when we had to wait and ask for our deserts. When they came out, our table still had all the dirty main course plates on it, however the server placed the deserts down on the table amongst them. When she removed the dirty plates she did not ask if everything was ok,so we made a point in telling her it was bad. Disappointingly though she dismissed it and nothing was said. Ignore the posters throughout offering 25% off food for military as there are so many conditions that you don't get it. And to top it off the two men's cubicles at 14:00hrs on a quite day were covered in s*"t. Avoid unless you are desperate.

Breakfast 29/11/2024 720 am. Went for (Premiere Inn) Breafast. The food was good, the place was clean and our table was served by a helpful and friendly waitress. Just the job before a 5 hour drive home.

Great place to eat and a lovely atmosphere! It's been under new management for some time now and has definitely improved. Can't fault the friendliness of the staff and the service. The manager Phil is doing a fantastic job!

Went in on Sunday did nt opt for any menu was just told carvery only shown to seat and told where bar was no other options like starters or desserts was offered no sign on website to say sundays is carvery only as that's how it seemed service very unfriendly telling people it was fully booked when loads of spaces available only saw about 2 staff

Very basic but edible carvery..we were all given tiny end bits of meat by the chef .then sat watching the chef plate up 2 meals to take out back for himself and work colleague carving alot of meat for his free meals. Appalling

Called in for a late Wednesday lunch, good normal menu, but brilliant 2 meals for £12.99 menu offer meant it was a very good deal. All good. Not busy, but service was a little slow due to staff numbers.

Have been coming to brewers fayre for many years and each time myself and my husband come we are welcomed by Helen absolute superstar always smiling and so polite nothing is too much .Hard worker and lovely lovely lady . Food is 5 star 🌟

Wide menu choices, friendly staff and good hot food. On first visit the ordering process is a bit confusing plus don't forget to enter your car registration when you enter to avoid a parking fine! Breakfast deals are amazing beats Morrisons and McDonald's nearby!

Food was not what I expected. Food was undercooked even when I asked for the meat to be well done, and there was no music to make the atmosphere a little brighter. Won't be going back

Absolutely fantastic birthday dinner for my son after a day out at Butlins....the manager Phillip and the team also set up the table with decorations..so thoughtful...will return when we're back :)

Just spent a long weekend in Minehead. The brewers fayre breakfasts were amazing and good value. It was busy but staff were great constantly topping up the buffet . The guy in the floral shirt was helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble thank you. And grand kids 3 and 4 yr old ate free and it was kid friendly. Hot chocolate was amazing thank you !!

Had a Sunday carvery at the end of my daughters hen weekend. The food was great and the service outstanding. The manager couldn't have done more to accommodate us. It really was the best was to finish the weekend. Thank you so much, will definitely be in again when next in the area.

Our Football team use Brewers Fayre each matchday to meet up to enjoy breakfast and a coffee. The food is excellent and all our players enjoy the Sunday mornings to meet up, its a great preparation for the game. Thank you to all the staff at Brewers Fayre for making us so welcome.

Had a lovely meal here with my family 2AD and 2CH, food was lovely and as you would expect from a Brewers Fayre and I wouldn't normally write a review but Georgina gave us some really good customer service. We felt very welcomed and she was attentive, polite and a hard worker! Thank you Georgina for your lovely attitude!

Went here on a adults Butlins Weekender, nice relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff and nice food. Georgina went above and beyond for us while we was there. Thanks Georgia. See you next year

The breakfast buffet was excellent, the food looked really fresh and tasted great. The value for money was really good and the staff were very efficient.

Arrived roughly 2pm Sunday. Only carvery available which is fine. 2 adults, 2 kids carvery and 4 drinks came to over £50, the food was awful. Roast potatoes were pale Beef severely overcooked, shrivelled and dry. Mostly mashed potatoes and undercooked veg for sides. No gravy or sauces left, this had to be prompted to be refilled, considering it was only roughly half capacity it was awful. Should of gone to McDonald’s 🤯

Went for breakfast after visiting Butlins but was late, never mind we'll have something off the normal menu..... unfortunately they don't serve any food between finishing the breakfast session at 1030 and starting the lunch time session. Almost cried Ended up in McDonald's 😕

Booked a table for 7pm Stood at the main door waiting for somebody to seat us for a good 5mins the place was not busy less than half full. Got seated ordered and ordered food (mixed grill with steak upgrade 8oz and lasagne with side of chips) after paying i was told 30 minuite wait as they are really busy! I looked around and thought it was half empty. Food took nearly 45mins when the food came the chips were stone cold i asked for fresh the lady brought out another bowl obviously from the same batch still cold took a bite from my medium steak cold like it came out the fridge, wifes lasagne was black at the bottom and tasted burnt (cooked in the microwave) we decided not to stay and asked for refund, not been to a brewers fayre for years and we was on our holidays. It was shockingly bad. The deputy manager was polite and apologetic and said they were short staffed.

Come here every every other weekend for breakfast with 2yr old, great selection of hot and cold and bonus that kids eat free with paying adult (believe this to be 2 children per adult, not 100% if still the case but know it was as use to take the older two and was told at the time this was the case) the manager himself and his staff are very welcoming, eager to help and from my experience willing to go that extra mile to make each visit a pleasure and also very keen to take any feedback to mostly positive but also negative from what iv seen to improve the restaurant long term. Keep up the good work to all and look forward to our next visit👍

Brewers fayre is just outside Minehead town and what a lovely pub and restaurant very friendly staff and the food is amazing and plenty of choices to choose from the menu, we went there twice this week and very inexpensive prices.

Enjoyed my stay, clean and tidy. Food next door was great

Breakfast was really good. Staff a bit mental but loved the mount gay.

Always good in here hence it's usually busy. Food is good and a good selection of drinks.

For me the food meat portion was small. The veg was very limited with the only green veg being peas. The Swede and mashed carrots tasted odd.

I've been here a few times on a business trip and the experience has always been great. The staff are amazing I want to give a big shout out to Helen, Chloe, Morgan and Caitlin the service is always execeptional and attentive. The big stack beef burger was lovely breakfast just need chicken sausages. But a lovely selection of food. Would recommend.

If you come to this area, there seem to be few places to eat. We stayed in Doniford 3 Sept for a few days and this was the only place along the A39 that was open. That said, food and prices very good.

Excellent service from Caitlin. However, beware! Kids meal deal only allowed if ordered at one time. If your child has 2 courses then decides they want a pudding, you pay full price, as I was rudely told by the abrupt manager. He needs people skill training!!!

Booked in for a Carvery at 1630hrs. Got there at 1625hrs and was told that the carvery had no meat left!!!! So I went for the pizza option, haven't got any!! Then I ordered a lasagne which was absolutely crap. This took over 60 mins to arrive. The whole place was run down, fabric missing from the furniture. Will never go back there

We went here for breakfast..it was really busy. Not enough staff so had to wait for most things. Tables weren't being cleared. Food was not being restocked very quickly. The staff were friendly unfortunately they were run of their feet. Get more staff. Look after the staff you already have.

Went for breakfast, it's buffet style rather than table ordering. The food was lukewarm, rubbery and most of it looked very unappealing. Didnt have any bacon because it was so pale and watery. Sausages had unpleasant chewy skins.

We waited half an hour with no sign of our food. At that point we enquired if it would be much longer, and were told that no-ones orders had made it through to the kitchen. There was no apology for the error. If we hadn't asked we would have been left waiting. The manager wrote down our order, which was then another half an hour. There were very few people in the restaurant and everyone seemed to be having the same problem. Not good enough.

We book a table at 4.30 for a Sunday roast as it was on intill 6.00 just to get there to say it had finished you should not say it is intill 6.00 I whated to go but stayed and had the mixed grill and beef pie sorry but it was not nice wish left now and we was not the only people not happy as someone said to us as we was walking out

Your standard Brewers Fayre. We used a 2 for 1 voucher code on our main meals which made it good value for money. My only criticism would be the portion size of chips that came with the meals, not many at all. The lasagne came with none, just garlic bread. I'm also sure you used to get a couple of onion rings with the big burger meals but not any more. That's shrinkflation for you.

We arrived just as breakfast was finishing but the manager said we could stay and eat our fill from what was left. Very friendly and accommodating staff, relaxed atmosphere and the food was delicious. You can’t beat a cooked breakfast.

Went today for a fairly regular trip for breakfasts - we had 5 kids with us so can’t be beaten on value. Really friendly greeting from Philip the manager and showed us to our seats and explained where everything could be found. The buffet breakfast with full English was perfect today … lots of choice including scrambled egg and well done bacon (my personal favourite). We were there towards the end of the breakfast period but there was no hint to rush or anything. Just a calm, fulfilling breakfast - as it should be. Thanks again

Been coming to the Minehead Brewers Fayre for a Sunday carvery regularly. The 'King-sized' carvery that you pay extra for (as in the pictures I took last time) is now the same size as a 'Standard' on a small, slightly over-sized Tea plate. The waitress agreed that we were given a 'Standard', the guy serving the food didn't and was adamant it was the King-sized meal. No apology or reimbursement offered. Very poor today!

Slow poor service, staff are lazy did not clear the table, no restaurant etiquette, pea and chip portions tiny…over 2 hours to get main course and had to keep chasing. Worse dining experience I have ever had.

No Staff front of house struggling. Food meat burnt to cremation level. Potato green and raw. Food brought out missing items. Salad gritty, left after waiting an hour for child's pudding. Can't fault staff taking orders and serving food in a full metal knee brace. The three ladies on front of house need medals. Shame the kitchen and company let us down very disappointed.

Helen Georgina and Steve were particularly helpful from installing bluelight and recommended rump steak which was first class I am a caravan owner at Butlins and will leave a recommendation to dine here in my caravan

Stayed at the Premier Inn and ate here. Understaffed and understocked which they explained would delay food and limit choice. Fair enough. The food itself was dire. Gammon had been previously cooked and reheated. Ordered chicken burger with no mayo but turned up smothered in mayo. Too long to wait for another so just went with it. Our youngest ordered chicken wings. The smell and grey appearance meant the fat was definitely old and the chicken probably cooked straight from frozen. Even the barbecue sauce couldn't disguise the taste and smell which turned your stomach. On the plus side, the staff were trying hard to work with the limited resources Brewers Fayre had given them. With hindsight we should have searched for local eateries on Google maps but we went with the ease and convenience of a pub next to the Premier Inn and got stung for being lazy!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating for our party of 10. Some wanted to sit outside and some in. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was as expected for the price. No complaints and would definitely return 😊

Absolutely shocking chips came cold and wet, 4 hairs found in 3 of our dishes slow all food was cold and disgusting staff that greeted us had such and attitude, don't recommend

Stayed at the next door Premier Inn. Had breakfast here every morning and can’t fault the food at all. Had plenty of choice (continental). Unfortunately it was very obvious they were short staffed and only ever saw the manager and 1 other staff member who was constantly wiping tables/ clearing up. Went for dinner and had to wait at the bar to be served by the manager Charlotte who was very polite and professional while again a couple of members of staff cleaned tables or directed people to their tables. There was a wait to be served eveytime we visited which showed up the lack of staff available here. Overall decent food but unfortunately the lack of staff really impacts your visit.

Lovely pub,well organised and great staff.food was excellent. Definitely recommend anyone to go there.

Came for breakfast this morning, Welcomed by the manager Phillip. Shown to our table in a quieter corner of the restaurant. The choice of food was fantastic. We both had full English breakfast and continental too. Fruit juice was delicious. Not watered down like some places do! The food was cooked perfectly, not greasy at all. Great choice of cereal, pastries, toast and pancakes. Drinks were included in the price and there was a vast selection of hot and cold drinks. Very friendly polite staff. Booked to return next Sunday but for carvery.
