Called in for lunch on a very quiet Sunday as it seemed to be the only place open serving food. The staff were very friendly, helpful and chatty. There was a good choice of lite bites on the menu and they adapted one for my wife so that her Gluten Free diet would not be compromised. Ample portion sizes and reasonable prices. Tables cleaned as soon as customers left. Can recommend.

Great shop then got singled out for paying with card not cash as 'cash is king" and got a lecture why they prefer cash, and to top it off judged me by my age!!? Had ice cream here yesterday but you can't just order, she had to go through a string of questions on the till and asked me not to shout at her as she was doing it as it was stressful? I merely asked for an ice cream? She got very agitated when we didn't declare we wanted soft scoop so she had to clear the till questionnaire and start again? Very odd, she could do with a customer service refresher course or even just a smile!

Visited yesterday with my husband and daughter. We all really fancied an ice cream. We all had different flavours but wanted waffle cones. Well only mine was served correctly. They had basic cones! I’d had the clotted cream flavour. Driving home after our walk I started to feel very sick. Husband and daughter luckily felt fine. Good job we didn’t live too far away because I had the most awful sickness afterwards. Went to bed very early as felt so rough. The ice cream tasted ok but no flavour. Though my husband said his had strange icy lumps in. I have never had food poisoning from ice cream but I know it can be nasty if it’s not stored correctly. I hope no one else suffered yesterday too!

When I enquired about the mud in the the marina as I have just purchased a boat and wondered what was going to be done about it the man on the reception spat out his sandwich and said "for f*%#s sake and walked off into the backroom! His dog a husky is tied to a desk on a short leash greatly restricting it's movement jumped up in shock as this idiot stormed off! Very stressful for the dog indeed! I just turned round on the spot and left! This bloke must cost the marina a fortune! I spoke to the young dockmaster who was present at the time. We went to this cafe as it was on our list to go as part of our day trip and the reviews on here were pretty good. However I would not recommend eating at the café, firstly stood waiting to order food and was ignored by staff, all young girls working in there and they didn't seem very customer friendly, I ordered a cream tea and 2 soft drinks and was overcharged. I was given a mug of tea and was left waiting for the rest of the rt to come to the point where I had nearly finished my tea before I had to go back up there to ask for the scones, when they came with the scones were soggy and looked like they had been re microwaved, just awful. The rest of my family had to wait over half hour for their food to arrive, when they complained they said they run out of onions for the hotdogs even though half of them had ordered onions. When we asked for the manager another young girl (who was also the cook) came out and kind of had an attitude and not very managerial, she offered a part refund, Out the £30 we spent another girl came out and put £5.50 on the table. Very disappointing. However if you are going to the gift shop and the curiosity shop upstairs then you will not be disappointed, really lovely and lots of little gems to discover.

Parked, walked around the harbour, walked back up to walk through watchet & decided to grab a coffee & cake. No cake but a maple pecan slice. Other half brought the slices out and said they were bringing the coffees out.Slices weren’t great- seemed to be topped with 1/4 inch of cooking chocolate and couldn’t taste either maple or pecan so after a couple of bites gave up.Cappuccino’s were, after an age, delivered and were Luke warm at best and- annoyingly-both were topped with chocolate and we hadn’t been asked if we wanted it. We would have declined. The “cappuccino’s” were also pretty weak and tasteless. We popped in to have a coffee after a lovely walk around the Marina, Village and Recreation ground. I ordered 2 Latte's - No price list. I was then asked if I was having anything to eat to which I replied, "No thank you." I then saw 2 - yes 2 small shortbread biscuits in a packet on the counter and decided I would have them with my coffee.. £1.50!!! I paid and as I walked away I turned and said to the cashier, "That's expensive!" to which she replied, "I know." I went and sat at a table which was very sticky - the more I looked at the biscuits and having told my other half...75p per biscuit - I decided to take them back. I told the cashier that I didn't want them - I said they are not priced - she said "Yes -We have to make it up. I said, "The coffee isn't priced either" - no response. I was refunded the £1.50 - the biscuits were snatched from my hand and thrown back into their box landing upside down. I said, "You don't have to be like that!" She replied - "Oh no....I don't mind!" But no apology or thank you. I will NOT be having coffee or anything else in the Marina Cafe, due to the surly attitude of this member of staff which spoilt our coffee break.

What a lovely place, plenty of tables and chairs provided outside when we stopped for me to have an ice cream and hubby a coffee. I can't advise what it's like inside as I didn't look. Staff friendly and happy to help. The ice cream was larger than I expected for a small cornet, very enjoyable. Hubby was very happy with his coffee. The shop where the cafe is, is great, having a large selection of items, from rock, magnets, china, to caps, clothing and upstairs furniture and antiques.

This is a great little café amongst marine supplies, gift shop and other bits. The staff were lovely and to our immense surprise there was sheeps milk chocolate ice cream for cows milk allergic grandchildren. Apparently it was scrummy. The coffee was jolly good too.

Super coffee and really friendly staff. Our group of ten popped in after getting off the train. My nephews both have cow's milk protein allergy and this café serves a range of sheep's milk ice cream. Happy days! Coffee was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. Will go back.

We received a warm welcome as a windswept family with dog. We went for the all day breakfast which hit the spot. The bacon was cooked beautifully, the sausages were quality, tomatoes, beans, fried egg and lovely thick cut toast. Being on holiday we asked about the area we were staying and luck would have it the friendly lady from the cafe knew the quantocks very well.

This is our second time visiting in as many years. The first year was passable as ok. This time around was absolutely shocking. The food was possiblity the worst pub food we have ever tried. I have no idea what the cook done to the chips but they were swimming in grease and the same for the gammon. The kids pasta was over microwaved and the peas were cold. The service was equally as shocking. The venue was pretty empty so was a bit annoyed when we had to wait and ask for our deserts. When they came out, our table still had all the dirty main course plates on it, however the server placed the deserts down on the table amongst them. When she removed the dirty plates she did not ask if everything was ok,so we made a point in telling her it was bad. Disappointingly though she dismissed it and nothing was said. Ignore the posters throughout offering 25% off food for military as there are so many conditions that you don't get it. And to top it off the two men's cubicles at 14:00hrs on a quite day were covered in s*"t. Avoid unless you are desperate.

I have now reached the 56 year mark and after the time I have had since April I value every day far more than I did and take each day as it comes and expect to be taken as I am by others. In all my visits to Exmoor with my parents when I was growing up and when I returned back down with my lovely wife and various dogs over the years we have never been in the White Horse. As we were staying at Court Farm in Snowdrop we took the chance on a filthy night to venture in to the bar at the White Horse. I really liked the set up=looked like church or chapel pews and plenty of country pictures and items on the walls-how it should be. The gentleman serving says Mark on the receipt was a lovely gent pleasant and hosting without any airs or graces-helpful and considerate. Meal wise we had One Trout in Almonds served with new potatoes and seasonal veg well cooked and well presented and One Flat Iron Steak cooked medium which again was very well cooked and well presented. Managed one sticky toffee pudding and one raspberry brulee washed down with Guiness and Exmoor ale, the waiting staff were pleasant and effecient and the chef has an odd sense of humour but having come from that background I enjoyed that. Excellent meal in wonderful surroundings

You must book. The food was excellent. A typical country pub. Well worth a visit. Not cheap but the food is worth every penny.
