What a lovely place. Wasn't intending to eat but stayed the night in my camper and as the area is so accommodating I chose to spend some money in their cafe and shops and this breakfast did not disappoint, friendly staff and top food, definitely be back.

a popular place, this cafe had a small que out of the door for most of my time there. it is recommended to book, i was lucky to get a table as it was just me. i was welcomed and served quickly and with a smile and a brief chat. the staff were very efficient and the food was lovely and extremely filling.

Been here a good many times for a late breakfast or lunch. Way better than most pubs. They also do theme events and have interesting speakers. Watchet is not as high prifile as many south coast places , but has a good little museum and very good srt center. Chives is busy very friendly and great value

Unfortunately, my experience at Chives Cafe left a lot to be desired. The service was disappointing, as the staff seemed unwelcoming and inattentive. As for the food, I ordered the Sausage, Egg, and Bacon Bap. While the egg and bap were cooked well, the bacon was overly thick and undercooked, making it difficult to enjoy. The sausages were also lackluster, tasting bland and low-quality.

Just squeezed in before breakfast closed for the day. Lovely food, great service, despite being super busy. Dog friendly. Would definitely come again.m

Stopped for breakfast after walking down from blue anchor, breakfast and drinks for 3 cost just over £20 and the food was cooked fresh to order and tasted great. Dogs are welcome inside which is great for a stop off on a dog walk! Will be back.

Stumbled across this place whilst on a family holiday and decided to pop in for some lunch. Was a really friendly welcome despite it being super busy. Food was great and service was top notch. Would definitely recommend this place

A lovely little place we've only recently discovered. Tabby the waitress is always so welcoming & remembers our names & how we like our breakfast, so we feel like locals. Food is just how we like it, especially the veggie breakfast with tinned tomatoes, a real treat!

11 of us (+ a dog) went into this little cafe for breakfast on our way home from holiday. The staff were lovely accommodating all of us, food came quickly, was good value for money. So pleased we came here.

Lovely staff, but the food is really poor quality. Everything was tasteless. Don't get me wrong the price is good. But I think that you should spend more on better quality food and charge accordingly

Lovely friendly cafe. The cakes were superb and the staff super friendly.I would eat there every day if I lived closer. Tabby served us and I gave her somestickas there was no custard this became a joke for the rest of our holiday and visits to Chives . Thank you Tabby and the crew XX Jumbo..

Called in here for lunch. Swift service and friendly staff. We had sandwiches and paninis with generous portions. There is an extensive menu including desserts. This place is clearly very popular and they will take bookings

Lovely little place, was very busy when we arrived, but managed to get us in. I had the homemade pie, veg and mash. Pie could of done with seasoning but otherwise fine. Friend had a jacket potato with prawns, which she said was good. Very friendly staff and service with a smile .

Chives is dog friendly with very polite staff. We were there for breakfast and they serve the usual full English and vegetarian options. The food came quickly and was tasty. Good value for money and will definitely revisit when we're next back in Watchet.

Fantastic little find in what would have seemed a ghost town! Drove over from Bridport for a day trip.... Oops! The Town seemed deserted but I'm glad this little cafe was open. Friendly service, great food at a fair price. Jacket spud was proper and not a boiled microwave affair.

We stayed overnight in Watchet for a family party so popped into Chives this morning for a breakfast before we started our journey home. It was very busy and we were informed by one nice dark haired waitress that the kitchen was struggling due to so many orders and that we would have to wait for 15/20 minutes for breakfast. We were okay with this and proceeded to order 4 cooked breakfasts which actually took more like 45 mins to arrive which was okay but jeez, the older waitress with blonde hair, dumped our food on the table, kept rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing at every opportunity, was really rude and made us feel like a big inconvenience. I wanted to ask for sauce and get a dirty knife exchanged but thought she might throw it at us so didn’t bother. If you don’t like people… don’t work with them …… simple!!!!

What a great little find...the young gentleman was really helpful to find us a seat even though it was a very busy time....it appears to be very popular, not surprising really as the food is great and the staff are really nice

Called in for lunch whilst walking from Dunster, very nice welcome and good food. Nearly walked past as windows were steamed up and we couldn't see inside but glad we stopped.

Absolutely love this place! Always a fantastic service and good visit. Haven't had a bad meal and we are always well looked after by the staff. Highly recommend the ploughman's - so generous with portions!

Cleaning needs serious attention . Toilets need a thorough deep clean : door, basin, tikes, grab rails , disgusting . Decided not to eat after that . Cruets in the table were dirty , chef came out in filthy apron

Excellent little cafe. Great food and very good service. We asked to share a sandwich and expected just that but no! It came on two plates, each with its own salad and portion of crisps. Really impressed and definitely recommended

Just had the most beautiful beef goulash and it was so delicious and I will say this is my favourite place to eat, the service is always fantastic, they people here always work hard and give you a fantastic service.

Wonderful Lunch in Watchet - we had Panini with Brie and Garlic Mushrooms, Panini with Mediterranean Veg and Cheese and my son had a the soup of the day, which was absolutely delish! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was so tasty, great portions and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Watchet - keep up the good work and Thank you very much!!

Very nicely presented and prepared food. I would return - that says it all! The only downside is that it allows dogs.... but on my visit it wasn't a problem. Good gluten free options I enjoyed the ciabatta.

We were lucky, arrived at the right time before it got busy. Not very big, few people outside waiting to be seated - which just goes to show how popular it can get. Food cooked from fresh so short wait, probably more at busier times, around 15 mins. Food really tasty and cakes lovely. Hubby said passionfruit cake was amazing and my scone was yummy.

This cafe is great, we have been to watchet a couple of times as a family and every time we visit chives. Nice location, great food and service. Plus they have a traditional sweet shop and ice cream shop on site. Always good, definitely visit.

Panini was a burnt baguette and inedible. No apology. Would not recommend you order a panini here you will be dissatisfied.

Lovely food and gluten free menu available. Friendly efficient staff. I have to agree with other comments about the teabags being horribly weak - still giving 5* as it was otherwise great. Will return if I’m in the area.

Had a wonderful panini with beautiful caramelised onion dressing. Can’t you buy anywhere on line as would love some more. Bought a jar but gone already, it is sooo delicious

My partner both had the 'panini' and were very disappointed to find it t was in fact an open toasted baguette-with cheap tasteless cheese and very cheap sausage. Staff very pleasant, maybe they ran out of paninis??

Ed, our youngest, paid us a surprise visit to celebrate Father's Day - no mean feat as he lives in Surrey and it's a 4+ hour drive. So we decided to celebrate and treat ourselves to breakfast at Chives. A lovely meal, perfect coffee, and wonderful ambiance. Nigel, Sam and the team are all brilliant, super-professional and very welcoming. They could not do more. Can't wait to visit again. Thanks MXM and Ed xxx

We had a couple of breakfasts here and both were great. We tried the belly buster and full English and these were really good. The service was efficient & courteous and the cafe was clean and run well. The only small comment and downside was the the pots of tea (ie the teabags) couldn't and didn't make anything decent. Please upgrade your teabags and everything will be excellent.

Without any research whatsoever we dashed in here on a Tuesday afternoon, ravenous after a long walk in Holford Woods. Slightly disappointed but not surprised that the famous Pasties had sold out, we opted for the Ploughmans. And what a great lunch it was. Generous portions of lovely ham and cheese, the freshest salad, hunk of baguette, homemade coleslaw , apple, and giant pickled onion. It was good, honest food and we really appreciated it. Special mention must be made to the tea, mine was organic Earl Grey , a generous pot size too! Husband is very particular about his coffee and told me it was above average, which is astonishing glowing praise , believe me! I managed to squeeze in a naughty salted caramel cone of Ice Cream to take away and was glad I did. Absolutely perfect. Lovely clean place, very nice staff and quick service to boot. Would love to go again and get there early enough for the Pasties!

Excellent food friendly atmosphere and at a reasonable price

Out with the ladies we thought this would be a gem. We sadly were wrong. We had a terrible tasting pot of tea each. The food was volcanic, microwaved food. The garnishes that should have been cold were slopped messily and nobody likes very warm coleslaw. The place was extremely messy, the toilet brush was the most horrifying thing I’ve laid eyes on in a good while. The staff however were friendly all but whom I assume was the owner. A middle age blondeish haired lady. Not good at all unfortunately.

Great cafe just off the main Quay side. 2 x Brie and Bacon with Cranberry sauce and a couple of pots of tea, just what we needed after our motorcycle ride. Staff really friendly.

Livery friendly staff and fantastic food - the best place for a panini locally. The old fashioned sweets are cute, I cannot leave without a bag. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Watchet

Love this little gem in Watchet and use it everytime we go. Excellent poached eggs on toast and delicious cappuccino. Hubby had breakfast with his coffee. Both thoroughly enjoyed as usual. Quite busy and vibrant. Always go for breakfast but will definitely try some lunch next time

First time visit for coffee and some cake. Two of us with different cake. Both were stale chocolate and orange and a coffee cake. They looked like they had been out for a couple of days. Coffee was fine and so was the service but...

Amazing service from start to finish!! Afternoon tea booked for 5 including a bottle of prosecco. Plenty of sandwiches and scones, with cream and jam. Anything we didnt eat was wrapped up to take home! Cannot fault owners and staff, they were always happy to...

Fantastic cream tea in Chives. The friendly team here made us really welcome, dressed the table beautifully and piled the delicious food high! Well worth a visit, the breakfast is also great. Do yourself a favour and give it a try!

We stopped off here for lunch with my son and his family. We all had different drinks and food, yet were accommodated with ease. Good service and reasonable prices. Would not hesitate to return.
