What a lovely experience. Joan and I with grandson Edward, down on the Jurassic Coast looking for fossils, successfully. The hotel was magnificent. Welcomed by a New Zealander, who couldn't do enough for us. Parking included, a bonus. The family room ultra comfortable. Dinner, choosing from the daily specials board, a revelation. The quality of the cooking, perfect. Breakfast can only be described by Edward, amazing. Fresh fruit with yoghurt, croissant, full English or other choice, fruit juice, tea,coffee or Edward's hot chocolate. Truly fantastic. All of the staff so attentive. Cannot say thank you enough.

Really cool space with a good energy. Food was delicious lots of nice attention to detail. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We had a perfect family Christmas celebration for my sister in laws 60th birthday

Great pub with a few flat ciders which I'm struggling to find in Bristol so thanks. Additional, you can come here to play board games and Mario kart for free!

I had a disappointing experience at this location. I ordered two decaf Ice Lattes – one with almond milk and one with regular milk – and two Chocolate Toffee Lattes with whipped cream on top. Unfortunately, the service was completely unprofessional. The lady serving us was more interested in chatting with an acquaintance than doing her job. The result? The order was entirely wrong: • All cups were labeled with the same name, ignoring the differences between orders. • The whipped cream was missing from the drinks that were supposed to have it. • The Ice Lattes did not follow the specifications – the almond milk and decaf requests were completely ignored. When I tried to point out the mistakes, the staff member continued her conversation, completely ignoring me. After a few minutes, another young woman, possibly a supervisor, intervened. Instead of apologizing and promptly fixing the issue, she responded in a dismissive tone, saying there was no need for me to stress and that they would correct the order “at some point.” This experience was even more frustrating because it occurred during a busy time, the day after Christmas, when customers expect efficient and professional service. Conclusion: Poor service, unprofessional attitude from the staff, and a lack of respect for customers. I do not recommend this location.

Fabulous staff and service great friendly cozy atmosphere

What a wonderful place! Highly recommend. Warmest of greetings and welcome. Staff very friendly, attentive, helpful with swift service. Lovely dogs were a delight! Food was deeeeeelicious and so generous a portion! Cosy country pub, great homely atmosphere and we would love a return visit! Thank you so much, Railway Tavern (ps. The starter of roast beetroot, Stilton, watercress and caramelised walnuts was pure genius and the best starter I have had so far in my life! The whole meal was perfect and expertly cooked. 10/10

Just visited the airstream donut wagon outside of the Cornwall services to buy my son a special edition grinch donut as a little treat. The guy working today (Sunday 8th December 24) could not have been more helpful and kind. The world needs more people like him ❤️ thank you and merry Christmas

2 sandwiches ( 4 slices of bread !! ) with a few crisps for my wife and me was £26 unbelievable. And they had the nerve to overcharge me by £6 ( after querying was refunded ). The whole place is terribly expensive , never again.

Stunning location and relaxed vibes! Yeah, you can't really get nicer atmosphere and scenery. Food is pretty good to, I've eaten a few times and sometimes it's better than others. Staff all seem nice, and it's dog friendly too.

We booked a 3 course meal with a lot of friends on 14/12/2024 , staff was amazing and friendly also food was really good and worth every penny definitely recommended to anyone who is thinking of going
