The problem with this place is some of the staff like to judge the customers and mock and riridule them, even though they're on not not much more than the minimum wage themselves. Its an absolute disgrace!

Visited for breakfast this morning. Very well organised with tables well spread out and excellent signage in place for one way system. Cleanliness was of a high standard and everything was being regularly sanitised which was very reassuring and made us feel safe. We went as 2 adults and 4 children so the breakfast was absolutely fantastic value for money and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, this restaurant always makes you feel welcome with children. The food itself was really lovely. It’s a buffet breakfast but it’s made quality ingredients and was all lovely and hot. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and all your hard work during a strange and difficult time.

3 stars for this restaurant because we did receive a full* refund at the end, it would have been one otherwise. We stayed at the attached Premier Inn for one evening, as we were attending Flambards theme park. We chose this particular day because the park had a special late night opening including a concert and fireworks. We pre booked our table for 18:45 as the concert was at 20:00 (and only five minutes away) so we thought an hour and fifteen minutes would probably be the right amount of time to eat. I must stress we wanted to get there for 8pm but it wasn’t essential, as it was the sort of concert you could just walk into at any point, so we had some wiggle room. However the fireworks started at 9 so it was especially important that we arrived in time for these. So we arrived at 18:45 but sadly our table wasn’t actually ready for us, even though we had pre booked After five minutes or so we were shown to our table The waitress came to take our order after about a ten minute wait, and as I have a rather specific allergy I questioned the ingredients of one of the dishes. The waitress said she didn’t know but would get her manager to confirm one way or the other. Five to ten minutes later the manager came over with the allergen list but it only covered the ‘main’ allergies and didn’t include an actual ingredient list of the other ingredients, this caused some time to be spent trying to work out whether there was an ingredient list, and I decided to choose a different meal, as by this time it was about 19:20 so I was getting nervous about the time. My partner and I both ordered from the ‘two courses for a set price’ menu. My partner ordered by saying ‘I’ll have this from this menu’ and I then pointed to the same menu when making my choice. At this point we were informed that there would be a 30 minute wait on food At about 8pm our food arrived and it was fine - what you would expect from this kind of pub. We finished eating at 20:30 and wanted to leave quick sharp so we asked for the bill. The waitress arrived with the bill but it was wrong, the items had been charged individually and hadn’t applied the set price menu discount. I pointed this out, and we waited another five minutes for the bill to be done again. The waitress came back with the second bill and I quickly paid as by now we were in a rush. Then, as I was getting the card back, I noticed the receipt and saw she’d only taken the set menu discount off from one meal, not the other. When I queried this the waitress argued with me and said it was only my partner’s meal that had the discount because he has specifically said out loud that he wanted that menu, whereas I had only pointed at it. Obviously I wasn’t happy to pay extra for no reason at all so asked if she could refund the difference, which she agreed to but said only the manager could do this. By now it was about 20:40 and the kids were getting very anxious about missing the fireworks. We waited ten more minutes and still the manager hadn’t come over so I went to the bar. She said she would get it sorted. Five minutes later she beckoned me to the desk. It was five to nine by now and we had been there over two hours, the bill had been done wrong twice and we were extremely frustrated. She told me because of the service we had received that she would refund the entire bill. *ironically, even this was done incorrectly and the refund was actually more than we had paid so we ended up making a 29p profit from eating here. It should not take 25 minutes to get the bill in a pub. Clearly the restaurant was understaffed and overworked. The waitress was incredibly annoyed that I had pointed out her errors with the bills, and had the audacity to argue with me about it which is frankly staggering when it was clearly her that had made the mistake. I know the service industry is hard graft and she was likely working very hard but that doesn’t excuse her attitude. We also ate here for breakfast the next morning and we’ve had quite a lot of premier inn breakfasts and this was probably the worst one we’ve had. The toaster wasn’t working correctly and they weren’t replenishing the buffet food quickly enough. At one point there were no plates at all and no milk etc. In future I would stay at the hotel but I would avoid the attached restaurant sadly. Hopefully with more staff they could seriously improve their standards as the restaurant was otherwise clean and the food a good normal standard.

Not impressed! Asked for a quiet table for two, no children etc, knowing the whole place was empty, apart from two ladies with a child and guess where she sat us, right next to them on a table for 6!!! Disappointed as to where we were seated we noticed on looking at the decor it was very rough indeed. The food arrived, it was ok/average but we had to ask for sauces and water too, plus they have the cutlery in a pot on the table which I think is unhygienic, god knows whose sneezed on them in our absence! I live very local to this Table, Table restaurant in Helston, Cornwall. We quite often find it busy with locals, holiday makers or builders who use the Premier Inn, which is on the premisses. You can go in quite often and have a great meal. Staff are always friendly and it is very much a family pub as well. It seems to be busy all year round and you can get to meet a variety of people. But sometimes you can visit and it can go a little wrong. Food orders can come out burnt, Very small portions, long waiting times and kitchen staff not taking note of allergies (but this has got better)! Staff are quite often run off there feet, but are still always friendly. I would recommend booking a table if you have more than 2-4 people in your party. As I have said, we visit this place quite often, but can be hit and miss. If you have a problem with your food, then tell them.... They will sort it out for you! DO NOT be afraid to say anything...

Not bad for a meal We visited the Maytree several times when it was Table Table and had no complaints apart from fluctuating levels of service. The next time we went back was due to a leaflet through our door saying that Table Table was now revamped and called The Maytree. When we went trough the doors it seemed exactly the same apart from the menu was now more expensive and less of it although there was enough to satisfy our choice. Wine is still a reasonable price and food portions are reasonably generous.Plenty of Free parking and a nice clean decor. Neither a good or bad experience. Would have no hesitation going there again for an impromptu meal

I pointed out it was 21:55 on a very precise iPhone, she said it was closed to the time on the till. I guess if all 5 of the staff hadn't of turned their backs when we walked in and the till had the correct time, we would have had a chance. Time to review where we stay in the future. We called in for lunch recently, the restaurant seems to have had something of a refurbishment since the last time we visited and although it was fairly quiet, the restaurant looked nice and had a good ambiance, although we did have to stand around waiting to be seated for quite a while before we were noticed, eventually we were taken to a table by a waitress who carried on a conversation with a colleague all the way to the table, she took our drinks and food order, the drinks were served fairly quickly, but included a bottle of water that we didn't order, though to be fair the wine waiter dealt with the situation satisfactorily, when the food arrived it was well presented and tasty. After we finished our food, it took quite a time for our plates to be cleared, but when this was done we were offered the dessert menu, all 3 of us intended to have a sweet and a coffee to finish off our meal, after perusing the menu we waited for the waitress to return, but in the meantime, and unfortunately for us, another couple where shown to a table, and it became clear that the waitress knew them socially, so she stopped for a chat which went on and on in fact for at least 9+ minutes (out or interest we timed it) in the end with on obvious signs that the said waitress had any intention of returning to take our order, we decided to leave, I got up and went to the bar to pay the bill, the same waitress came over to take my money, she didn't mention the fact that we no longer wanted a dessert, nor did she ask if we had been satisfied with our meal, I assume she just wanted to get back to her 'friends' to finish her chat...we left feeling very disappointed and would definitely think twice about returning to this eatery .

The second evening was very disappointing. It took nearly 50 minutes for our meals to arrive. When they did arrive our request for salad dressing to be 'on the side' due to allergy problems had not be follwed. The salad was liberally coated in the dressing. There are some great places to eat steak in Cornwall, this is not one of them! We waited to be seated, I ordered spinach and ricotta lasagne, it was a good 20 minutes before we were told they had run out, we were asked if we wanted to look at the menu again, but thinking of the wait that would involve I just ordered sirloin steak. When the waiter came to the table to ask how our meal was, I gestured that I couldn't speak as was trying to eat the meat, which was tasteless and tough. Apparently there had been other complaints as well. We were told that because it was a chain they had to use designated suppliers and where unable to use the excellent local produce.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2014 NEW We ate here twice as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door.We ate both times at around 4 PM when the place was almost empty. The barman was very accommodating and the service was quick. However after that things went down hill.On the first day we just had nachos and fries as a snack with our drinks. The nachos had bottled salsa on them with hardly any cheese so once we ate the top layer we just had a bowl of tortilla chips left.On the second day my wife had the cheese cake and I had the steak and ale pie.The cheesecake was ok but it had a layer of some yellow substance running through it and nether of us could quite make out what it was.The pie consisted of a dish one third filled with an onion and meat slurry with a flaky pastry top held up by a blackbird pie funnel with fries and peas. I tried to mask the terrible taste by putting the fries and peas onto the dish to try and fill it up to make a full sized portion. The addition of HP sauce rendered it edible. However afterwards I had a violently upset stomach which for me is very unusual.I should have suspected something when I noticed that the crust was welded to the dish and i should have avoided it there and then.

I had Caesar Chicken Salad, which was fresh, had lots of chicken and wasn't greasy or swimming in dressing, which is a common fault. My wife had chicken and mushroom pie, which had a wonderfully crispy pastry top, was full of meaty filling, and came with a good portion of chips. To follow, we went for caramel apple crumble, and chocolate brownie, both of which were excellent. Came here to Table Table for Sunday lunch.Overall really poor. Considerinfg how many restaurants and pubs there are locally which have great ratings I am not sure why I came here at all, probably based on better experiences elsewhere at Premier Inns such as the one near Newquay. The beef which I had was dry and tough ranging from raw to over done across the slice. Plates were not hot enough hence food was already not that hot when served. Roast potatoes were cold and gravy serving was really stingy. Veg was okay but nothing special, slightly hotter. Portions overall were not generaous either. No horsradish sauce although offered initially and then fed back they had none.Drinks came with no ice so not all that cold, not asked if we would like ice.Table was not all that clean and 2 of the 4 setting had no napkin. All basic stuff. Staff clearly not trained properly.I am usually quite generous about my reviews and do understand things can go wrong but this is a really poor restaurant. And to top it all they charge £9.99 which for the quality of both food and service is a real rip-off.In my view certainly for Sunday lunch I would stay well away.

We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday
