If you are looking for a great village pub then this is surely one not to be missed. Wonderful staff, the kind lady who served us made sure that we had food and drink. This is a dog friendly pub as well which is wonderful. Food was reasonably priced, served quite quickly, and taste as a pub food would. The atmosphere is also note worthy if you're similar to me and enjoy the cosy dark wooden pubs.

Happened upon this gem of a place by accident when visiting Winchester and so happy we did. The Sunday roast was amazingly good - I had beef and hubby had pork. The cheesy greens are a ‘must’ as a side too ! The place had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend. Sadly, we weren’t drinking on this visit but we will be back in the future to try their wine and cocktails!

I was Bikepacking in the area and meet up for lunch. The lady running the bar, even though she was overstretched, couldn’t have been more welcoming. She unlock the back gate so that we can put our bikes there an allowed us to fill our water bottles. The food we had was good and the service was good as well. Well done!

Arfter hearing all the hype about this place me and my partner decided to try it First impression where verry good we got told there were no tables for 45 mins because it was busy. The system they use to call you for your table is brilliant We were served by a young lady who was very aggy. When I forgot to order a coffee, it sempt like a massive deal when I re asked her when she came back with are other drinks It took a wile for are food to come out with was understandable due to how busy they were When the food arrived, I had ordered the chicken eggs benedic. This was extremely dry even with the hollandaise sauce (witch didn't exactly have any flavour to it) My partner ordered the pancakes that were very disappointing, they had no flavour to them and also verry dry. They also tasted of old oil It's such a shame we have a bad exspiriance with the chandler's ford shop as we had hurd such good things I also tried to look on their website for an email to their customer relations but could not find one

The Fox Inn at Bramdean is a real gem of a pub and a rare find these days. The building originates from the 17th century, but much altered in appearance over the years, and is Grade II listed. By not being overly modernised, it has retained a genuine old pub atmosphere and it is all the better for it. The floor is made of old wide oak planking which creaks and squeaks when you walk on it. There are low beams and wood panelling in the bar area. The floor plan is idiosyncratic; the bar is ‘L’ shaped. It all provides for a delightfully aged, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Three real ales were on tap when I visited: Langham’s Session Bitter; Otter Bitter and Hopback Summer Lightning. I had Chicken Supreme from the lunch menu and it was excellent. The large chicken leg was cooked perfectly, so that it was still moist and tender; the cream sauce, with mushrooms and wilted spinach was well seasoned. Service was friendly and prompt. This pub is a bit out of the way but definitely worth taking a trip out to visit. Highly recommended.

Lovely place specialising in chocolates and indeed hot chocolate. Popped in today for a vegan hot chocolate, pot of tea and two cinnamon buns. All really good and a couple of salted caramel pieces of chocolate as tasters too. Will happily return to try some more and perhaps buy some chocolates too.

Called into the Tea Rooms on the off-chance with several friends and the staff kindly found us a table (many tables were reserved). We all opted for granary bread sandwiches, some which came with a generous salad and crisps and others went for the doorstep bacon sandwiches, which were enormous! Excellent pots of tea to drink. Obviously already well known in the area as there was a queue for tables, so make sure to book beforehand. The Tea Rooms are set at the back of Southwick Stores which comprises a village shop and post office. The shop was the best stocked of any village shop I have seen in a long while

Friendly little cafe hidden from the main area. We had tried to get into another of the town’s cafes but it was busy. Luckily we came across the Anvil on our way back to the car. The building itself is beautiful and very quaint. We ordered a Ploughman’s and a French onion soup. The soup was nicely hot and came with the requested gluten free bread as advertised. I have yet to find gf bread nicer than this and thoroughly enjoyed it with lashings of butter. The ploughman’s was plentiful with fresh salad garnish and lots of cheddar, stilton and gammon ham. The service was great and the food being brought out looked fresh and a good portion size. One to try if you’re in the area. There’s a nice little outdoor seating area for warmer days. We look forward to coming again.

Staff always really friendly, particularly the man that works here. Really nice. Great coffee. Really nice place to go on our walks in Alresford. Highly recommend- much nicer than the other rude and pretentious coffee shops in Alresford like Caricoli.
